Lots of story branches and connections between them, this is not an easy thing to do! Really nice game, congrats!

Really great work,  making a mystery game with this scope must have taken a decent amount of planning and was executed very well.  I love the music, it really adds to the suspense and tension!

This game is so so so good!  There is a lot that has gone into this but it remains easily accessible, you don't feel overwhelmed as a player, and it's engaging.  The graphics were charming and pulled me in.  I loved this game and... thanks to me... the curse is lifted! :)

Developer

lol thanks for playing! You've done right by the people of Grimstone!

Great entry!  A genuine point and click mystery adventure game wow!  Good job with creating a complex story with very simple and easy to understand game mechanics.  I really appreciate how much art was done for this game as well, felt like the town really had a ton of places to explore.

Engaging story! I joked about who the culprit was (because I had no proof at the time I interrogated them), and after some investigation, 2 failed accusations, and some more thorough investigation, it turns out it was them!

I really liked how gathering context started forming a story in the player's mind.

The choice of music gave it a suspenseful atmosphere!

There's a few minor issues with the GUI, each click on an item opens a new window, but doesn't close the others, and items behind a window can be clicked through it, it's only annoying for a few seconds though, then you get used to it.

Really nice and unique entry!

It reminds me of a tabletop game we gotten for Christmas with my SO. Great implementation of the theme and I liked the vibe and the art, great job! One very minor observation is that it would have been nice to see the occupation of a character next to their name when choosing a suspect at the fortune teller because I'm bad with names and it was easier for me to remember the characters by what they do or where they are found (which you displayed at the actual places where you could have conversations with them), but then again, my memory is not the best when it comes to names :)

Thanks so much for the kind words! That's a good point about the names!

Lovely! The art style was unique and the mystery was fun to solve. The only thing I would comment on is some of the handwriting was hard to read. It would be nice if there was some sort of plaintext version of the clues' text, perhaps if you hover over the clue?

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! That's a fair point about the writing, I like the idea of plaintext version of the clue, might be a good work around. Thanks again!

An intriguing puzzle, indeed! I definitely felt like a detective, but I feel it could have used a more subdued music track.

Love the artwork and the idea, but haven’t had the patience to piece it together yet. I will, though!

Well done!

Really nice ambience, I directly felt like detective at grimstone. I haven't been able to solve the mystery, certainly because I haven't spent enought time matching infos, but still I would have loved to play a more polished version of this game

What a great idea!  I probably spend an hour puzzling out the solution.  Surprised myself when I got it first try but I wasn't 100% sure so I went back just to make sure there weren't multiple endings.

The story here is great for this genre.  With some upgraded art assets, you could even publish this.

Developer

lol That's amazing! Thanks so much for playing it all the way through. Good job on solving the mystery! Also, multiple endings might be kind of cool!

Great little mystery.  Would not have wanted to be our poor mine worker - seems like everyone in the town had it out for him.

I like the art style too - reminds me a lot of courtroom sketches which seems perfect for a detective game.
