This one is up there in my favorites for this jam, great work! I love the cute little dudes.
thanks for playing! I love them too!
Very cool game. I enjoyed it pretty much. The simulation works very nice. I just ended it at 700 kills after I think I got all the curses. (not sure if they gets upgraded) Good Job !!!
awesome! Many many of you beat my score haha. I hope to add more curses at some point… thanks for playing.
Wow, this game was really fun! Good sense of humor too :D
Very well made, great entry!
ha thanks! Hope you enjoyed the references!
Well, boss won't be happy to hear the war ended. Oh well, can't write reports if you're fired...
Really fun game, can certainly see myself sinking hours in it
haha, tactically avoiding reports! Thanks for playing.
Perfect game for this jams theme. I had a lot of fun and the art style is very charming.
~655 seconds, with 428 deaths! Would have been more, but I ended up just spamming the speedup button and letting them do their thing. Red won!
A great game, very balanced, and quite strategic with the curse placement! I wish there were some unlockable curses or something based on # of deaths, to keep shaking things up later in the game, but what you have really is excellent.
Well done!
I wish there were more unlockable curses too, good feedback. I really wanted to be able to buy new curses. Alas, game jams!
Great game! I loved the twist on idle battlers to try and sustain a war effort, and the presentation was awesome!
The only thing I would suggest is a way to see the curse info by hovering over the curses, instead of having to curse someone and then read the curse icon in the person description.
Hi Josh and Rebbie - Thanks for the feedback!
There might be a bug, but you should already see the Curse info at the bottom of the screen when you hover over the Curse icon. Hopefully that isn’t a bug for you!
Well done! Fun game. Seems well balanced.
Great tutorial, presentation is superb and cute and the game is fun enough to keep me playing for a while. I would definitely say that it's a success! Great work!
thank you for the kind words!
Very nice entry loved it
Incredible game for a 9-days game jam, congrats!
Neat idea, quite fun and cute graphics, great entry !
Maybe one bug, sometimes hovering above curses would not display the description ?
I noticed that too, thanks for the bug report! And thanks for playing 🐛
Good game nice but the option button not work
Wow, my favourite submission so far, very well done! You clearly put a lot of effort into it, well thought out UI indicators!
Awesome concept and execution! I loved that you could control the pace, the presentation with the moving letters and the blurry shadow during the tutorial were really nice too! Really good tutorial and very easy to pick up. Also appreciated the office space boss reference!
Very creative curses also! And the method for unlocking them added a lot of spice to the difficulty. It was fun trying to control the "inertia" of the battle so that you could unlock the new curse but not lose the game in the process.
My record is 657 seconds and 422 kills, I stopped because I hit a point where I didn't think I could lose (took me some tries though!)
EDIT: Forgot to mention that I loved the simple but cute visuals with the "Ed Edd n Eddy" wobbly line style (I don't know how it's called, sorry haha). The sound effects fitted the style and the music, while simple, was nice.
Fun and original! Great game and take on the theme!
Thanks Streq. Yesss, Office Space and Ed Edd and Eddy both went through my head! Thank you for playing!
Really original and fun game! I loved the curse mechanics and the fact that time could be sped up or slowed down so easily. Also I liked the fact that each solider had a name with stats!
SER DINGUS
I really like this one, the curse mechanics were fun to use and I liked that I could negatively effect my own devilish companions as well. The art is great, too. I also discovered a secret game-mode - seeing how high I can get the time multiplier before the game ends 😂 I got to 39x speed...
... Welp maybe I should've put a max speed. Hah, that's amazing that you kept the game going with 43vs37. Did you see performance issues?
To be honest, after about 10x I couldn't really tell what was going on. I suspect there was some sort of tomfoolery going on as I clearly remember being about to lose, but then the battle swung back in my favor! The game didn't crash though, it showed the right screen for game over and I played another round normally after.
WOW I'm happily surprised about that. Thanks for playing it Melo!
Anytime! It was fun!
Love the concept and the polish is so good too, well executed and fun to play
Cool take on the theme! Very appropriate that the forces of evil will want war to continue to continue feeding on souls and humans’ ambitions! The art style and music wa great too. Well done!
😈!
The UI on this game is so good - all of the little touches like the fuzzy sprite animations and letter wiggles go a long way.
Game is really fun too - I like that it makes you try and take down a monster of your own creation when you build up one side too much.
Thanks! Tried to keep things simple.
