Good bullet hell, traditional patterns and a somewaht original take on rotating the game rather than the player… kind of an inversion on tempest approach. I am not a big fan of rotated pixel-art, at this resolutions it kills crispness, but considering it’s not too detailled sprites here it works quite well. Overall a good entry.

you've used rotation as a mechanic very well, I had a lot of fun with it. I liked the difficulty curve. The sound effects (especially the sound of the shot) were a bit much after 5 minutes of not letting go of the space bar

Developer

Thanks. Will see if I can tweak the sounds to make them less annoying.

Waaaaa very fun game!

One of the best games of the jam.  Simple but catchy idea and crispy realization.  Not  had a rest until finished ))

For some reason hardest boss-planet was Skataar. Latest was not so hard.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, would probably agree that Skataar ended up being the hardest planet.

Solid entry! It was a lot of fun and quite challenging too, the difficulty curve was well defined. I've yet to beat The Sun tho.

A really interesting mashup of mechanics, I had a lot of fun! Figuring out the right trick to avoid a particular bullet pattern is super satisfying, as is getting some good hits in when you finally get through defenses. I felt like the music didn't quite fit the hectic gameplay as well as it could have, but that didn't take away much from the gameplay experience. A solid game overall, well done!

Wow. You combined Gyruss and Cave shooters and it turned out great. I had fun with this one.

Developer

My shoot-em-up/bullet hell experience comes from roguelikes than classic shooters. but I'll take the comparison as a compliment.

Ha! I wasn’t expected the radial movement, that’s a really nice touch. A fun twist on the SHMUP, it would be really nice to see this expanded with more weapons and power-ups maybe.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks. I don't currently have plans to expand the game, but I could revisit it in the future if I come up with more ideas for it.

Simple and fun this was really cool.

I loved the concept and the circular movement was novel, and the various defences were interesting and challenging.

No real complaints I can think of besides for being a shame there weren't more levels.

Very cool. I kind of love the way the left and right keys move the entire universe.  Hot stuff.

Wow, that’s an innovate spin on the bullet hell genre! Great execution too! The planet explosion scene is soooo satsifying! I had a blast!

Amazing :D its so satisfying, that difficulty jump at the end was something else but I managed it and enjoyed every second! ^^ really good game!

I would not even imagine having so much fun destroying planets, haha. But, OMG I did.. Very very cool battles, mechanics, and use of such a tiny resolution.. Well done! I like this entry very much!

Currently made it to Kalasar, but I'll try to reach further planets later, hehe

Dude insanely nice game here. Really great feedback when you shoot something. I didn't even try not shooting until I read the game page - would be cool if there was a way to get the player to do that organically and learn not to shoot for the speed boost, I got about 8 planets in just thinking that that S attack was unavoidable lol. Really tough game but the difficulty is staggered really well imo. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, in hindsight I should've tutorial-ised the mechanics better.

The rotation mechanic is a really interesting twist on the shmup/boss-rush formula and it works really well. I loved all the different bits of animation you managed to cram in like the rays when you destroy the planet. The shooting sound of the ship got a little bit irritating after a while but it's not a big problem compared to how smooth the gameplay is. :)

Really nice bullet hell! Quite liked the movement, specially when I learned I was slower while shooting. Can't spam or the really long patterns get you. I also loved the sound design! That planet being destroyed it's just right. Nothing quite hits the spot like planetary genocide :)

Absolutely loved how every boss built upon themselves and how well you introduce new mechanics. However, like most of the others in the comments I got beaten by the laser barrage lol. I'm definitely trying this again since I feel like there's a pattern or trick that I'm missing, though it definitely feels like it needed more of an actual indication as to how it worked.

Never the less, an awesome amount of polished content in this entry. Amazing work

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I tried to have every planet introduce a new gameplay element. The only "trick" is that people seem to miss is that you can stop shooting to move faster. Other than that it's just a matter of learning the patterns and practice.

Really great bullet-hell game, love the juice, but some spiral patterns can't be dodged! Still loved it.

If you have the time can you check out my game too? :D

Developer

Thanks for the comment.

To dodge the spiral pattern you need to stop shooting (you move slower when shooting) and move in the appropriate direction to outrun it. I've had several complaints about this so clearly it's not as intutive as I thought.

Really great and complete game! One of my favourites so far. I loved the variety in the bosses and the controls felt super responsive. The art is also really nice :)

Developer

Wow, that's high praise! Thanks for the kind words.

There's something really creative about the 360 degree (but simple) navigation. I liked it!

Submitted(+1)

Very creative gameplay! Admire you for making a circular game at such low resolution. Game isn't too complexed but is well juiced. Thanks for a great experience!
