One of the most unique abilities I've seen. A lot of games have your projectiles affect your movement, but the way you had that be so integral to your movement was really interesting and made for some fun platforming.

Love the room finish animation. Great work and kudos to you for adding sound fx and music. Excellent entry.

Interesting character control a bit hard but after some time maybe it is possible to get used to it.

The art and music are really nice and the character ability is cool, add a character design and this will be even more epic

from the art, to the music, to the amazing mechanic, seriously the only thing missing is the character design, but hey you could always add that in the future, the point is, you are someone i need to look out for in this competition holy smokes!! pure amazing, i want a full game of this.

I love playing this type of mechanics/controlls. It is bit difficult to control at first but got better by time. I like the art, and animation of ammos and also screen shaking gives much better feedback to player. Although space key/ shoot doesn't working sometime. either it's my keyboard or it's backend; something like frame skipped. Overall nice idea and implementation.

Nice concept and would make a fun puzzle platformer. I hope you'll make it into a full game

really cool game! i like the grid-based movement in a platformer too!

Rotation can be janky but concept is great! But those chords though

Good game but the game had few bugs.

Very interesting ability! Had a lot of fun messing around! 😁

nice mechanic and character, however, is this made from a construct template? Where is the frog?

Developer

Lol good eye. Yeah it used the template as a base since it matched kind of where I wanted to go. I have a couple ideas of how to expand it much further , but waiting to see what the next theme will be first.

One suggestion I have is to rotate the cube based on the arrow pushed, like if facing right, pressing the left arrow makes it go left instead of up. Other than that, it's a cool idea

Excellent character! I don't know if there was supposed to be a frog or not, but what's in the game here is fantastic. Fun and unique ability that was a blast to play around with.

very well made game, love the movement, look forward to more

This has a lot of potential! I'd love to see it polished up to a full game, there could be some interesting puzzles and scenarios.

This game is one of my favourites!

Loved this, not the first time I've seen using bullets to move the player, but it's easily the best execution of the idea.

Neat ability!

I liked the idea, I thought it was fun, but it had an air of Matheus game template, maybe because you follow all the visual pattern he uses in his games, I believe this game would be more visually more pleasing if it were using some other type of art, would draw much more attention.

Developer(+1)

not sure who that is, but yeah I originally got the idea from one of Constructs built in advanced examples and reworked the movement to be free instead of limited to a linear direction. Agree about visual I'm currently trying to learn enough pixelart to ultimately change the square to a decent tank with rotating turret. I have a few ideas for expanding the core mechanic into so much more but didn't want to go all out in round one and have it conflict with the next round if make it through.

A tip, if you're interested in Matheus's Patreon "Viridino Studio", you'll find a bunch of templates made by him, along with those he makes for Scirra, I'll leave the link
