Interesting ability though had issues with reading text.

Nice submission. I don't know if its only in my browser but i couldn't fullscrenn it or change layout so some questions and some part of game were not visible. Anyways Unique idea and nice implementation. Good Work.

A cyclops with a pathokinetic ability. That's not something you hear every day. This is a really interesting concept and it'll be interesting to see the finished build to this game. Love how you can make choices that will affect the game and the way you made the 2D graphics move 3D is really nice. Once the text fits on the screen and collisions etc are improved over the next rounds, it'll get even better, I'm sure of it.

Thanks for playing and leaving a comment!

Thanks for bringing up the text! Just did some testing and yeah think the text is cuz of how itch.io/unity webgl is working I'll make sure to add a full screen button after the ratings which should fix the base issue on most computers

this was actually a fun Ability! i liked how i had to engage in others and drain their emotions in order for me to access through the desk, very good! definitely could see more of this

Ingenious idea for a unique ability in this type of game. Congratulations!

I was trying to think of other game types and how this challenge would apply to them, but could have never come up with what you crafted! Plus, the characters being just an eye, yet portraying all the emotions was great!

(+ poking in the eye is fun hehehe)

Thank you for playing and for the super positive feedback! ๐Ÿ˜

I wanted to try something besides an action mechanic and wanted to see if people would like an "explorative narrative puzzle". Super happy you enjoyed it! (Loved your game's art and ability!)

Pretty cool mechanic! I enjoyed the open-endedness.

Developer

Thank you for playing! ๐Ÿ˜ The open-endedness was definitely a design challenge, but...

What problems can't be solved with cursing? ๐Ÿคฃ

this is honestly a really ingenious game mechanic. the idea of changing emotions in a conversation just leads to so many interesting possibilities, and I really think this game could do really well if you expanded on it. My main issue was some weird ui bugs not letting me see the buttons, and theres no fullscreen. But overall awesome job.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! ๐Ÿ˜

Apologies for any weird bugs (I was having issue with Unity's scaling UI in those final moments ๐Ÿ˜†)

I'm definitely considering expanding it once GDKO is over ๐Ÿค”

I think it was quite good.

I don't think I've ever cursed in someone's face ten times in a row in a game before. I felt bad about it, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do to infiltrate the corporation!

I see great potential in how you can build on this system to set up some really interesting puzzles, especially if you started to expand the writing and art so that as a player I had to use my intuition to work out how the NPCs were feeling and what approach would work best to drain the emotion I needed.

Having the emotions combine together for different outcomes could also be great (that may be in there now, but I liked to just make the guard so mad he quit). Is there another room or ending I can't unlock? I never found the two red-hued guards at the entryway?

Great submission and unique ability. I had fun with it. Small critique, and it's not relevant to how I scored you or what was required for submission, but I would have preferred to keep movement to WASD and then the conversation prompts on the right side of the keyboard for a more smooth experience. Speaking of movement, I loved the scaling touch when the player moved away from the camera! Well done.

Woah! Thank you so much for this great feedback! ๐Ÿ˜

For the jam wanted to keep things simple and toy like, but still puzzle-y XD You got exactly what I was going for with the mechanic (narrative-based puzzling) ๐Ÿคฉ

Originally I was going to use the clerk as a tutorial and then have a second area where you had to get past two guards, but sadly I got a bad cold during Round 1 and couldn't work on the entry as much as I'd planned ๐Ÿ˜”

One more time thank you for the great feedback (really considering expanding this more, but that might have to wait till after GDKO) ๐Ÿ˜†

Really interesting idea. A good starting point to a story based game

The ability felt really unique to me!
I feel like this mechanic could use some polish, especially with ux, but it's going in a neat direction.

Developer

Thanks! Totally agree with the UX ๐Ÿ˜„

If you don't mind me asking, do you have any ideas for how the UX/mechanic could be better? ๐Ÿค”
