The environment and the atmosphere of this game is amazing. With great level design, art and cool animations, accompanied by unique gameplay mechanics, this is an amazing game. Well done!

Very immersive experience! the music, sound effects and dimmed lighting create a great atmosphere. I love the character pixel art design and the title screen. Also the mechanics progression is quite nice.

Well done!

Very cool game man! Well done! Loved how the flash light can be controlled! Shooting with the laser was a bit slow at times and hard to catch flying mobs! But all in all a great game.. Find my video review below!

Cool work! It would be nice to have a compass of sorts or smth as future work :)

This was a neat Metroidvania! The pixel art was really well done and the mood was great. I wasn't a huge fan of the laserbeam weapon, but I enjoyed exploring and finding all the different powerups.

the artwork is really nice and you did a great job creating a spooky atmosphere. I liked the flashlight system and the eye/laserbeam weapon. The grenade launcher and double-jump were satisfying to get too! I thought the story telling was nicely done and, as others have said, I could really feel a Metroid vibe with this. Overall I think it was a really good submission. Good work! :)

This is really cool. Definitely calls back to Super Metroid, but you added the light features which take it to a different level. The controls were nice, though I hated the flashlight weapon for being so slow. However I suspect if I was better at this game I would have found a new weapon at some point.

Finding the double jump was super satisfying, especially after finding the ledge I couldn't reach without it. Great little mini narrative right there.

The ONLY complaint I have about the graphics is I wish there was a getting-damaged and dying animation for the enemies, just to add some juice and make your weapons feel more effective.

Overall, amazing. Definitely one of the best if not the best I have played so far.

The two-flashlight system actually works out pretty good an a gameplay element, while being the weapon as well as a light source. However, when navigating the verticle spaces (ramps, jumping, falling) the mouse position sometimes flickers and the light sources also flicker, even a slight bit. It does not affect gameplay, but sometimes it hurts my eyes and after a while, I do start to feel a little sick.

The music and the graphics are great, there is a really deep bass that creates a hell lot of pressure and unsure for the ambient. (also, the grenade launcher did not work for me when right-clicking)

Afterall, great work!

Nice entry :)!

My feedbacks in two words :

  • The level design is cool, but there is a little lack of variety. I mean, without minimap it's pretty hard to realize where you are.
  • There is no reward to eliminate the enemies, and since it's pretty long to kill (two charging shots for the crawling one), I prefere dodge because I know there is know reward.
  • The artistic direction is nice, and story too!

Good job!

Developer

Hey guys! Thanks for playing our game and for the feedback! We thought about adding the minimap, but we ran out of time. And the reward in killing enemies, it's a great feedback. Thanks again!

Great dark vibes and really fun gameplay.  I like the lighting effects and the main character looks awesome.  Had fun with this, good work!

Developer

Thanks for playing our game! We had this idea in doing some really dark caves, because, you know, they are dark. Once again, thanks for the feedback!

The atmosphere and sound effects on this game are superb. I got a lot of Metroid vibes coming from it (which is cool because my game is also a lot inspired by it!). If I were to pick something bad to talk about, I would say that the combat feels a bit stale as there are no real means of defense, it feels like a waiting game in which you just tank while blasting and then wait to recover the shield, or just run away, recover the shield, and go back. Dodging is really hard given how big the player is and how fast the attacks are. But yeah, other than that, I think the atmosphere and immersion more than made up for it. Great work!

Fala, Rafael!

Maybe some way to recover the grenades or health. So far I don't know how to get more.
This game reminds me to Metroid zero mission and I love it! The immersion and the mystery are the best part and the lights helps to set up the atmosphere.

Developer

Thanks for playing our game! Nice feedback on the grenades. There's no way to recover health, our goal is to use your rechargeable shield to avoid damage. Metroid was our main reference making this game, and Zero Mission is our favorite. Thanks again!

You do a good job of setting up the atmosphere. It was very sp00ky when you went down into the caves and came across those flying creatures. I really enjoyed blasting all the creatures with the light laser! I think the boss fight could use a little bit more lighting, but at the same time, since I defeated it with the current lighting, maybe it provides an appropriate level of difficulty. Either way, I had a great time playing!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing our game! We want to make the player use his flashlight not only to shoot, but to see around too. Once again, thanks!

Well done on the art work and building the tension/mystery! I really like how you used the darkness/lights.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for taking your time to play our game! We want the player to feel encouraged to use the flashlight to see where he's going. Once again, thank you!
