I like the look of the game, but I could not really figure out what I was supposed to do, wandered around for 15 minutes but didn't really find anything other than a banana, and I couldn't figure out how to use it
Wow really nice models and shaders! the the game itse;f is very polished. I didn't make it to the end but I enjoyed the game and it was amazing.
Felt like sleep walking and then slowly drifted back in! Very neat concept!
Bruh
Love the visuals and the theme, exploring was great fun. Really nice work!
Amazing visuals and good sound.
I loved the whole feeling of the experience you captured.
As others have said the point of the game, or the method by which you stay awake, is unclear unfortunately.
Great job!
Wow, the visuals are crazy. I think you've perfectly captured the 5am GameJam experience.
Was definitely a bit confused as to what I was supposed to be doing unfortunately. Nonetheless, beautiful game and I hope that you can build more story and objectives into this awesome visual style!
I was blown away by the visuals. I've never seen a game like this. I did find it hard to see sometimes but overall I really admired what you created. I think as far as interacting with the game goes it could have been easier to go up hills. I fell down by the water and couldn't get myself back up for a good while.
Thanks, I think I will remodel the landscape for sure. If you want to see better you can increase the resolution in the setting in the game and/or disable the some of the post processing
Ah I missed that. I should have delved in more haha. Regardless though very cool! So you're going to push this more post-jam?
Yeah I really like the colours and sleeping mechanic, not sure what exactly the story will be about.
Maybe you could drift between dreams and reality, Definitely lots of avenues :)
GO TO BED! Visually stunning game! However, I didn't have a clear direction to go so I walked towards the sun, and I was able to get out of the map and walk on the water. Maybe add more lighting to help guide the player to key destinations. The post-processing effects coupled with the music make for a very nice aesthetic!
Yo’,
Very good looking game, I think some story would help shape it up, as there’s no much to do except wander around, or maybe I missed something?
Your spot on, didn't have time to put the story together, I really wanted to nail the opening and setup, I would like to continue the game after the Jam
The aesthetic is pretty cool and the environment looks great! Although I didn't quite know what to do, after the timer ran out I just lost. Also the shader is a bit disorienting in the starting area, which might be cool if your movement was restricted and the timer hadn't started yet.
Loved the presentation -- I could envision a great narrative game being set in this surreal world.
The graphics look amazing, but I had trouble starting to play as I would fall asleep way too early before I can find any object or tool. There seems to be a lot of mechanics packed in the game judging by the menu, but I was not able to explore most of them as the beginning was too hard for me. Still, gorgeous work on the artstyle and kudos for working on all those mechanics.
Thanks, it's a 60 sec timer funny it's actually slower then 60 sec. The main mechanic is sleeping, you can stay awake by eating or drinking.
Finding food is a little hard in the graphical style, might have to tone it down a bit
aesthetic af but struggled to figure out where I should be heading? Definitely gave me the feeling of being tired on the verge of sleep though, nicely done!
the visuals were on a AAA level, sadly the gameplay wasn't as intuitive as it should on such a peaceful beautiful looking open game. really enjoyed it, congrats on your entry guys and best of luck!
Very striking game, did feel it was a little style over substance though.
The game looks and sounds great, but you didn't make any (or most) of that during the jam. I do like the idea, but for me it wasn't obvious where to go or what things needed to be done. I tried running towards the sun, but I couldn't make it.
really great game
Great graphics and atmosphere, felt like a weird fever dream, only problems i got with it is that the time limit/health bar depletes too wickly, in a game that is all about exploration, i felt that the time limit is detrimental to the experience, and also the intro is a little bit too long. But overall it has great potential to be a really great game, hope it is continued after the jam!
Thanks. To stay awake you need to find food or drink resources.
I would like to implement checkpoints, so you wake up again in the 'area' you get to.
Here is my list of thing that would be cool
Those are all great ideas! The checkpoint would be a must i believe, and i forgot to mention it, but i discovered the food, but i felt like either the bar would be depleted to quickly or the food did not heal enough, so the checkpoint would definitely help with that. Also getting inspired by The long dark could be very cool, like a survival game in a dream.
Perhaps when you complete the game you wake up (spoilers)
That would definitely be cool and fitting, maybe the lore in the game reflects in some way real life when he wakes up, just throwing ideias around hehe, i don't know. I am curious to see what it will look like in the future.
That's a really cool idea, you know how in dreams you relive moments, perhaps the areas are about events from your life.
I'm not sure how the repetitive sleeping is a great mechani, eg either you should keep resetting or you should try to stay awake for as long as possible.
Perhaps the game should be always ending like Majors Mask, where events happen regardless, and you have to do it in one playthorugh.
The Majoras Mask idea would be pretty good i think, and quite unique, there aren't enough games with the "Groundhog day" mechanic i believe, and with this mechanic you could focus on making a smaller map, but full of little things happening, maybe it could be easier to make and more interesting to play in this way, even fitting more the ideia of beggining without direction, since you have to discover what happens during the dream.
Yep aesthetic resembles AAA game! Very, very well done for 48 hours!
p.s. Is protagonist Jesus? He walks on the water!
lol 😂 decided to add a box collider to the water so you don't fall through it, was much faster then making you float!
