That.Was.Intense! Simple graphics, but they pack a punch! Seriously fun game for when you just want to blow something up.

Nice! It gets a bit laggy later on when there's a lot of particles and enemys on screen but other then that no complaints!

Submitted(+1)

Well done on the polish. All the particle and screen effects really add to the experience. Also, the music is great as well. This is a solid entry.

Lovely action-packed music and cool CRT screen-effects too!

This game makes fun =D

Looks good. the theme is very well applied, but i think that if you had added a better effects like screen shake sounds o other things when you get hit or when you hit a enemy, the game would feel much better. good job dude ^^

Love the tie in to the theme. Really nice concept

Fun game to play and also like the idea of giving different abilities to yourself or enemies. it would have been even better with some stylised designed for the enemies and player and more to the level layout. The effects are a good touch.

Fun game. I like the look and feel. Mac version didn't run on my Mac. Played the web version. The item that gives you double damage but gives enemies "slowness" doesn't make sense: it debuffs the enemies. Juicy game though, had fun with it.

Developer

Sorry for the misunderstanding. what that bonus does is makes it so you receive double damage from enemies but they are slower

fun game loop - i like the lights and shooting effects

The upgrades-with-tradeoffs idea is very cool, I liked the music too :)
I'm not sure if I'm understanding this properly, but to the orange enemies have more health? It felt like my bullets were missing them even when they appeared to hit, since I guess it just lowers their HP without killing them (?). If that's the case then more visual feedback that the enemy is damaged would be helpful.

Developer(+1)

All enemies have the same amount of health. Depending on what modifiers you chose gave them more health so it would take more bullets to kill them. It may be a bug so I'll have to look into that. Thanks for playing :)

It feels really smooth to play, and the art and sound direction is great

Interesting use of the given theme! The game really makes you think when deciding about the upgrades.

super fun game! kept playing till I died, well done!

I like your interpretation of the theme, it makes the "upgrades" more strategic in nature as well.

This is an excellent game. I love it. Very fun to play. Very polished too; it's kind of unbelievable you did this in two days. Did you also compose the music yourself? If yes WOW.

Though I must say I prefer windowed games over full-screens... Sometimes full-screen gets interrupted so easily. Also the browser version doesn't work for me  (Firefox) :(

Developer(+1)

Sorry to hear that browser version didn't work for you (I didn't know that it wouldn't work on Firefox so thanks for bringing that to my attention). As for the music, i didn't make the music as my talents lie in game design and programming and not really in art or music. To solve that I went for a (extremely) simplistic art style and the music is from a guy named Juhani Junkala or Subspace Audio. He makes really good music that is public domain so I use it in a lot of my games. If you want to check him out here's the link: https://opengameart.org/users/subspaceaudio

Great visuals, audio, and effects! Gameplay is simple but really fun to play. Enjoyed a lot :)

The upgrade system is a fun play on the theme. Good work!

I absolutely love the look and feel of the game, it looks really impressive. The upgrades are nice and together with your style it really sets this game apart.

Excellent, loved the idea of giving buffs to enemies. Nice consistent art style too. Simple yet effective.
