We really loosely followed the theme, but we know the connection is spurious at best.  We figured "giving people access to the country".

Thanks for playing!

As the member of our team that did the majority of the balancing and music, it's great to hear that it was stressful - it's what we were aiming for.  We were heavily inspired by Papers Please, mostly because we've done jams before and quick game design is really our weak point.  Thanks for playing!

We will agree with you, we do think it was maybe a little too close to our source of inspiration, but we're fairly content to let it slide since this we wanted to avoid designing new mechanics as much as possible.

Thanks for playing!

Ours is a Papers, Please-eqsue airport security officer simulator.  If that strikes your fancy, here's the link...

If you fancy some passport checking action, then it would be much appreciated if you could play ours:

Thanks for playing!  Papers Please was the inspiration for our project, so we're glad to hear that we've captured that quite well

Reminds me of Getting Over It.  The visuals are great, and the music fits quite well, but gameplay is a bit too slow for me personally.  That said, I'm also bad at this type of game...

Clicked on it because dog looked cute.

The game is simple, but the pixel art is really cute and it's well executed.  Some lateral movement might be nice, any maybe some music that loops less, but it's a good game

Really interesting idea.  I'd like some indication of how many points a house it worth rather than adding it manually, but it's the start of a really great puzzle game.

The music is on point as well

The game concept is great, although the execution is somewhat unfinished.  The art for the menus and character models is good, it just lacks gameplay

Everything works, in an odd kind of way.  I'd maybe add some challenges to increase the pace of the game, and some music would be nice, but it's fun

Cheers for playing!  I'll pass your regards onto our artist, I think he did a really good job on it all

It's a great idea for a puzzle game, if it was a little more developed.  I thought it was maybe a little too hard, or no indication was given of how much each value would lose, but it was fun

It's the beginnings of a good idea, but it's still quite playable

Interesting story based game, although the prerequisite is that you read all the text.  In a further developed version, I'd maybe cut down on the detail a bit to make it a touch snappier.

Either way, the graphics are good and the game is relatively engaging

The music and idea of the game are both quite good, although it has potential to be improved.  There were also some hitbox issues and I ended up outside the map

Really neat idea, and the quick play time meant I ended up giving it a few rounds.  The jump is a bit floaty, and a bit of randomness in the level would have been nice, but it's quite polished

The atmosphere and overall feel of the game is great - everything ties together nicely to produce one of the best feeling games I've played so far.  The controls felt a bit off, but that might just be me

Really cool idea; I'm not sure I've seen a platformer with such a short time limit before, it gets a bit tense.  I'd maybe replace the backgrounds because they aren't easy on the eyes.  A simple parallax scrolling one or something would probably work.

I liked the art and music, it's definitely in a Mall, and the core gameplay does seem to be there.  There may be some slight issues with the hitboxes though.

Not sure what I was supposed to be doing, and the controls felt a bit light, but I can see that this has potential

Took me a while to figure out what to do.  That said, damn.  The atmospherics, aesthetic, everything sensory is great

We tried our best to make it difficult, but not too hard.  Turns out that was harder than we thought, so there's always the difficulty slider in the options menu.  Thanks for playing!

Really great idea, and for the most part I can't fault it.  Maybe some more variation in sound effects would have been nice, but it's otherwise solid

Really fun idea, but I think you could definitely make the gameplay more tense.  Maybe if there were specific stations for different toys, and the controls were just a touch more floaty.

Either way, it has promise

Really satisfying to play, even if holding down space indefinitely is a valid strategy.  The art isn't exceptional, but it all fits together nicely

Really cool idea, and the overall feel is quite good.  A postprocessing pass might have made it pop just a little bit more, but it felt good to play

Cool idea, although the gameplay is a bit slow (literally, in terms of movement speed)

Cool idea, but I think it needs some further development.  The graphics are on point, but I think they'd be helped a lot with even just some SFX.

The gameplay has potential, it just needs something to make it a little more tense - maybe finite fuel or a timer or something

Really smooth gameplay, plus the graphics and sound are well executed.

I only managed to get a shield powerup (possibly just because I'm bad at the game) but I would have liked to have seen a little more variety.

Thanks for playing!  It's our fourth (I think) jam, so we have a little bit of an experience advantage, although that's not to say we weren't panicking in the last 20 minutes

Thanks for playing!  We realised that the date this is a bit off-putting during our extended playtest, but that was after the deadline.  If there's further development, we might point that out in an interactive tutorial

Really cool game.  The graphics are great, and the little bit of story is nice.

The music was good, if not a bit repetitive.  It took me a moment to figure out what I was doing, but this has potential

Great idea, although perhaps too ambitious for the constraints of 48 hours.

It's a really cool level, and the driving feels really smooth.  Some ambient sound effects would have been nice (birds, leaves, etc..) but otherwise fun

Cool idea, and the graphics are quite good.  The controls get quite confusing, however.  It probably would have been a better idea to just add some speed value to position rather than moving in the direction facing
