Really great take on the snakebird like puzzle, with a perfectly charming aesthetic for the game.
-Favorite part is the kinds of stacking needed as part of the solutions that also really makes it different.
-Though it is there, the undo function could be presented a bit more clearly as it's a great thing to have been able to implement, but can be missed (like a black bar behind all that text and it being white).
And what level 2 is trying to teach you could be a bit more compact/intuitive. Also personally think the colors could be a bit more vibrant for the feel of this game.

Developer(+1)

Hi, thanks for playing and the feedback. You are spot on with making the undo functionality clearer as a couple of people missed it and yep, pushing the fruit on to your head wasn't immediately obvious for level 2 so will definitely take all the feedback on board and think of better ways to do it :)

This is amazing! Very polished and clever. I especially like that blocks can be carried and not just pushed which makes it feels much better. I like all the mechanics as well and can see how there would be potential for more. The visuals are also beautiful and create the perfect atmosphere. The colour palette is especially good imo.

Developer(+1)

Hi, thanks for playing and the feedback. The carrying of the fruit/blocks was also one of my favourite mechanics. Colour palette was taken from lospec, got to love that site :)

This game is GREAT! i've got stuck sometimes,  but I eventually finished the whole game. I think this is the first game that kept my interest until the end (from the jam). The level design is awsomeand the learning curve is really intuitive. The level design asks you to learn the behavours of the worm. The art is good, music is good, only got good things to say about this one.  Maybe a suggestion would be that you better seperate the level counter and make it bigger.

Hi, thanks for playing and well done for completing the game (I think you are the first person that has mentioned finishing it).

Thanks for the feedback, I think a few people missed the level counter and undo prompt/instruction so I could definitely make them stand out more :)

This game is really well made! 😄 and It's funny when you fall, the worm says its fine but not really haha!

Great job on the graphics, the feel of the game and the sound! It feels really polished! 😄

Developer(+1)

Hi, thanks for playing and the feedback. Happy that you found those messages when the worm falls :)

Pretty good game, i can see the inspiration of snake bird, i really enjoyed it, hope you add more levels and mechanics :)

Developer

Hi, thanks for playing and the feedback. Definitely inspired by SnakeBird and I am thinking about expanding it :)

Submitted(+1)

What a great game I really enjoyed this! Really relaxing and not too taxing to play. Got stuck on 12 but the time I did play was great. Keep it up! :)

Would be great if you could check my game :)

Developer

Hi, thanks for trying out my game and the positive feedback. Someone else also got stuck on level 12 so I have posted the solution here if you are interested :)

I have also checked out and rated/commented on your game :)

It was really nice and fitting the theme

It reminded me of that snake bird game

the picking mechanic was clever

Developer

Thanks for the trying it out and the feedback. SnakeBird was definitely the main inspiration for the game :)

Super cute sweet game. I loved to play this one. Got stuck on level 12, but that's the longest I've played any game in this jam, I think :) great job!

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks for the feedback and great job for making it that far. I had to go back in to the game to check what I did for level 12 (and yeah, there is a particular spot where you need to stack the apples and the block to get the orange without dying. Thanks again for trying it out :)

Submitted(+1)

Of course! It was really fun and I *loved* the worm and his/her babies... I did stack the block on the spike block and both apples on top, but I still couldn't push the orange off without impaling myself on the spiked block beneath the orange ;D

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

If you are still interested, I just posted the solution to level 12 :)

Submitted(+1)

Ha! How great, thanks :)) Now I know why it wouldn't work, I apparently fixated on getting the orange from the right side ;D

Wow, that was interesting take on "snake" game, love the graphics, looks smooth and charming. Great job!

Developer

Hey, thanks for playing and the feedback :)

Really sweet, solid and polished game! Great job!

The graphics were really cool and the concept overall. Good progression curve and level design.

Keep it up!

Let me know what do you think of my game!

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks for trying it out and your positive feedback. Just left feedback for your game :)

This is definitely one of the best games in the jam and i can see where the inspiration came from. Really cute art, polished and the music fits the game so well. Didn't find any bugs (except the worms) and don't have anything negative to say, 5/5 in all areas! Great work! Love it!

Developer

Wow, thanks for your feedback and the rating. Really happy you enjoyed playing :)

Submitted(+1)

Very well done.

-The music is pleasant and unobtrusive.
-The levels are well designed and took me multiple times, and usually lead to that "ah ha" moment when I realized what I was supposed to do.
-The game art is cute.

If I were to change anything, it would be that the shuffle sound is a smidge too loud, and the art might look better if it were a little more saturated. (And those are honestly just subjective preferences)

Submitted

the art looks amazing but unfortunately I can't play as I use Mac

Submitted(+1)

Haha level 5 took me a while.  Great job on the game, the level design was awesome.  It was very fun to figure out the solutions. Also loved the art, really cute!

Developer

Hey, thanks for trying out my game and the feedback. Someone else also got stuck on level 5 for quite a while. In hindsight, I probably should have put that level later in the game.

Submitted(+1)

WOW Hahahaha this is so good lmao. The game is so simple and yet, it is addictive. The atmosphere you created with your art style and the music is superb, they really compliment each other to set the tone of the game.

The minor thing is, the game is simple to learn, but there is something in that level 2 that will stop you for a little bit to figure out what to do. Minimizing the instruction is good since it gives a rewarding feeling when the player discovers how the game works, but the way it was presented is kinda not smooth on that specific level.

Developer(+2)

Hey, thanks for playing my game and the positive feedback :) Yeah, I wanted to balance not giving too much instruction and allowing the player to discover mechanics through play. I probably could have done a better job there with regards to pushing the fruit on to your head (given it was so early in the game also). Thanks again.

Submitted(+1)

Yeah but other than that, It is really a great game! Btw if you get the chance, I'd be happy to know your ratings and thoughts about my game too :)

Submitted(+1)

In my opinion this game is the best of the jam that I've played so far. I absolutely love the graphics, music, presentation, puzzles, everything! I haven't actually played Snake Bird which I believe this is heavily inspired by so I'm assuming good faith and that the puzzle ideas weren't stolen. That's how good the puzzles are though. I feel embarrassed that I was stumped for so long on like level 5. I'm going to keep playing this one in the future though! I don't have a single complaint. Thanks for sharing!

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks for playing my game. I especially enjoyed the video of you playing it. Yes it is inspired by SnakeBird but the puzzles and the fruit pushing mechanics are different. Also, I think you missed that you can actually undo moves (U key) without needing to restart the whole level to save some time :)

Submitted(+1)

Ha! Thanks I actually figured that out just after I finished recording. That definitely will help in my efforts to beat this game.

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

It's like the snake from the classic game Snake has all grown up and had a family! Super interesting level design. Some stages were more guided to show mechanics while others felt like I had 100 different ways I could complete the objective. Also very happy I tested falling off the world - several- times haha! Nice touch.  I wish I had more constructive criticism to give, but honestly everything is so well done.

Edit for typos.

Developer

Hey, thanks for the feedback and trying it out. Happy to know you did the falling out of the world thing :)

Submitted(+1)

Just WOW! I have been playing here games for more then an hour and this is by far one of the best, the game play and graphics are so good.

One minor thing is that is took me some time to realize I can get the apples on my head and I think it would really help if you could put some instructions for that in the second level.  ☺

Developer(+1)

Hi, thanks for checking it out and the great feedback :) I was trying to minimize the instructions and get the user to learn the mechanics with level design. But yeah, I agree that I could have made it clearer that you can push the fruit on to your head.
