My typing skills are out of my control.

I never realised how much I don't know where certain keys are until playing this. xD

The character changing their lane could be a little less erratic, but not by much. Once I realised you could hold the key down, the game became a little easier.

Overall, a great little panic inducing game and fits very well with the "Out of Control" theme. Great job! : )

I was also impressed at how difficult it is to find letters alone on the keyboard. Thanks for playing and taking time to give feedback.

There is currently no better game that does the "Out of Control" theme so well. It's really funny and actually earns more than 5 points for the idea. Good work!

Developer

Thank you very much for the kind words!

Your game is really challenging but fun! I like the the UI it shows the keys well.  You should keep working on it! If you do perhaps add some feedback that I am pushing the key (Or maybe I just couldn't notice the feedback XD) Congrats on successfully submitting a game to the jam and I hope you learned a lot of new things.  Please check out my game when you have time :D

That's such a good idea! I like these king of game that requires some "physical skill" that you actually got from everday life. Mine is a bit like that too (a real typist challenge). I've had great fun playing your game.  Great job, Please keep creating games!

Developer

Hey Darenn, I'm glad you had fun playing. Thanks for the feedback.

Lots of fun, reminded me that when I have to stop and think about where a key on the keyboard is I am not very good with the whole typing thing.

As some others have said the keys not changing just before an obstacle/item would be a great improvement

Nice and polished! The little UI details, like how the high scores pop up, the buttons depressing, and especially the audio used all really tie it together.

This also really demonstrates how much of typing is just muscle memory. I know how to type words and sentences, but give me a jumble of letters, and I suddenly forget where they all are. lol

Thanks for playing my game and taking the time to give feedback. I loved your game, super impactful and a fresh interpretation of the theme, Very good!

This game is tough! I am not a great typer so I was glancing down at the keyboard and getting wrecked. But it's really fun, well done!

This is the most fun random input game I played so far! Nice!
I love how the character wander between three lanes like he can't decide which one to go for. But it would be easier to play if it keeps on the last lane.

There have been a number of typing based games (or games that involve using random keys for controls), but I really like how simple this one is compared to the others.

Great job!

I must suck at typing because this game wrecked me. great game though I love the concept.

Awesome idea! One change might be to make it so the keys can't change when you're really close to an obstacle, just so that it doesn't feel unfair to have them change right as you're going through and taking a hit. This is definitely one of the more unique ideas I've seen thus far.

Submitted(+1)

yes, this!  Otherwise the game was a lot of fun but sometimes felt unfair when it would switch right before the obstacle came up

Submitted(+1)

Simple but effective game idea! It's really difficult, but in a non-irritating way. Maybe it could be used to practice typing?

Submitted(+1)

Looked and sounded great- really nice polish! Gameplay was unique and good for the theme but I'm a terrible typist so I found it way too hard. Perhaps not the game for me because of that but its a fantastic entry that I hope to see amongst the top for the jam!

Developer

Oh, thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed the game. Unfortunately, I didn't have much time to balance it.

Submitted(+1)

Nice art, but I found it difficult enough with the keys changing. So, I would have preferred it if the guy stays in the lane he's in instead of randomly bouncing when you don't hold down a key.

Developer

You're right, I didn't have much time to balance it and I think it ended up getting more difficult than it should. I almost implemented your suggestion but I ended up going with this one to stay more in line with the Jam theme. Thanks for the feedback.
