I really liked the premise of not being able to control the robot if I can't see it. It's sad you didn't finish it. Aside from that, the graphic part looks cool (It reminds me of Portal ), and the short level design was well done too. This was a nice entry even if it wasn't complete. Nice game!

PS: No I'm not from Italy haha, as you noticed, I'm from Chile and this is a really cool sandwich we have, the only thing it has to do with your country it's the fact the colors (Avocado (Palta), Tomato and Mayo) are the ones in your country's flag.

PS2: You should definitely try it if you can, but, tell me you watched someone else's video and not the one I made... That would be fun tho.

Developer

Well, I'm glad that you enjoyed my game, and that you liked the few models in the game, I'm not personally proud of the levels in the game (and, from the few complaints i seen, i'm not the only one to think that... ๐Ÿ˜ฅ) so, at first, reading that you liked the level design it really surprised me...

Anyway, thank you for playing the game!!! ๐Ÿ˜Š

It's cool to see people from all around the world!!! At first i tought that you were italian by your username, then i went to your itch page to see if i can find some proof that you were actually italian (Little Random Fact: I currently know no one who is from my same country and makes games, so finding one whould be an immense joy to me ๐Ÿ˜ƒ) and then i've seen that you had a yt channel, wached some of your vids, and then discovere that you were chilean all along... you know the story...

From what i've so far, i don't think they really made it in italian's paninoteche (that's how we call the sandwitch shops here in italy: Just another fancy word ๐Ÿ˜—), actually form what i've read on internet (but internet is most of the times an unthrusty place to be, so...), i think that's a chilean only speciality... but the ingredeants are simple and easy to gather, so one day i'll definitively try to make one...

I'm a little scared to try it, to be onest, mainly because i've never tried an avocado before, and i know that I'm not usually very open to new experiences, but i also know that if i never try i will never achieve anthing in life... (that'one of the reasons i'm developing games in the first place)

Plus, really??? An hot dog like sandwitch that resemble my country flag?? I've absolutely got to try it...

Well, this comment for sure took a lot to write... Sooy about that... ๐Ÿ˜…

Jams are like that, you run out of time so fast. So I understand that you had troubles with the level designe, but from what I saw it was pretty interesting.  You should be proud of what you did, because even submitting a game it's hard sometimes hahaha.

Yeah, it's really cool to meet new people in this instances. Sadly, I wasn't Italian as you expected. But you discovered a new type of sandwich!

Avocado in a sandwich may sound weird, but it's super good.

And don't worry about the long comment, it was fun read.

Developer

The rating period is almost ended!!! Thank you to everyone has playied my game for the helpfull feedback!!! ๐Ÿ‘

(PS. I still don't know if I will/want to go around and update the game... I guess the only thing i can say is "Stay Tuned" for now...)

Submitted(+1)

cool premise but sadly you didn't finish it in time

Developer

Yeah... Too bad...

Thanks for playing my game... ๐Ÿ˜Š

Game looks nice, cool game play and level design! good job!

Developer

Thank you!!! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

The design of the robot and levels looked cool! Sometimes when I tapped the z key it still moved forward and didn't stop, so it made it hard to control and I fell off the side often.  (perhaps I'm not doing it right XD or that's the out of control part?) Still, congrats on submitting a cool robot puzzle game to the jam! Please check out mine if you haven't :D

Developer

Hey, glad to see you again from the Wowie 2.0 Game Jam!!! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

First of all, let me say that i'm glad you playied my game, and you enjoyed it!!! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Now about the moviment: I Didn't quite understant what you was trying to say:

  • Did the character turned and moved at the same time, when you was trying to stop it??? If it was the case, then it's a bug (not an intentional one, this time sadly... ๐Ÿ˜•)
  • You was trying to stop the robot to go forward by pressing "Z" (Left Turn Key)??  if it was the case, well, i didn't think about the possibilty to stop a command (the forward moviment) with another command (the steering), so i didn't implement it.
  • Was the robot behind a wall??? If it was the case then, well yes, that's the "OOC" feature
  • I none of my precedent point was the correct one, please try to explain me better... (I'm sorry ๐Ÿ˜…)

In either of the case, i have a strong gut feeling the cause of this was the fact that the controls are confusing... If that's the case i apoligise for the controls... ๐Ÿ˜…

Again, thanks for the feedback and for playing my game!!! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

(I'll check out your game asap!!! ๐Ÿ˜—)

Cool premise with needing line of sight to control the robot. However, as is the game isn't really in a playable state. Good luck if you decide to continue with this idea, there's certainly a light at the end of this tunnel!

Developer

I'm glad you liked the concept anyways!! For the game state, i'm really sorry, i couldn't finish it on time... I'll just keep chasing the light for now... ๐Ÿ™

I know this is a little bit out of place, but about my rating on your game: (i know i've added this on my original comment too, and i'll probably dm you with an excuse message as well, but i just want to clarify, and make sure my words reaches you)

Basically I feel like the comment i writed you is way too harsh than it should be, and it's not not very contructing overall, i'm sorry about that (i was tired when i writed that comment), please take my comment with a grain of salt... I'm sorry for that...

Submitted

Don't apologize for the state the game is in. Jams are always hectic, even if you didn't come out with a game that fits your original vision, I'm sure you learned a lot along the way (hopefully about managing features and functionality within a limited time frame) which is what these are all about. And like I said to your original reply, don't worry about your attitude haha. It'll definitely be best moving forward to not let your temper get the better of you when communicating with others, but even taking the time to identify it and apologize shows you've grown a lot from just this. Cheers! <3

I agree with the feedback regarding the camera placement/clarity of the game mechanics that others before me have said. I think this has a lot of potential though, and you did a good job! :)

Developer(+1)

And I, once again, excuse myself for not having done a good job to build  good levels and for the camera... I'll hope you enjoyed the game anyways, as far as it can possibly be enjoyed, at least...

Submitted(+1)

Yeah I still enjoyed it! :)

Submitted(+1)

I understand what you were trying to do with the game, but couldn't enjoy it, just because of your camera desicions.
I'd be interested in playing this game again when it's finished though.

Developer

Well, if that makes you happy, you're not the only ont that complained about the "staticness" of the camera...

If this game gets an update, i willtry to find the problem and fix it... I'm sorry about my camera...๐Ÿ™

Submitted(+1)

I like the mechanic of this game, however the fact that you can't control the character behind a wall was not communicated well enough, and i had no idea until i stopped playing

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Man, i'm sorry for that... Level design isn't my strong suit, and when i builded the game i've tried to quickly build some levels, to explain the mechanics, and at the time i was convinced that i had done a good job... I'm sorry to hear that was not the case... (keep in mind that i tried to keep my levels easy enough and i had actually low time to playtest the levels)

I'll try to improve in the future... I hope you enjoyed the game anyway... ๐Ÿ˜•

Submitted(+1)

A neat little game, it's unfortunate that you didn't manage to finish it off but it definitely has a lot of potential, good job!

Developer

Thank you for the comment, glad you enjoyed the game!!! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Submitted(+1)

I like the basic idea, shame you weren't able to get all the content in that you wanted. I could see something like this being a fun puzzler if fleshed out, definitely needs tighter controls first and foremost.

Developer(+1)

I'm sorry if the controls weren't of your liking... If i'll get un update on this game i'll definitely add some better, tighter (maybe even snappier), faster controls...

Thank you for playing my game, glad you like it!!! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Submitted(+1)

Not being able to control the camera and forcing the player to build a mental image of what they can't see is an interesting concept. Some audio feedback to let the player know when they are moving/turning or not would help further the idea.

Developer

I'm glad you liked the concept!!! I wanted to add some audio feedback but sadly didn't managed to do it: It's the second think i regret the most, only being after the menu... ๐Ÿ™

Submitted(+1)

Nice little robot, would have loved more levels :) Took a while to get hang of controls (I never really did, but eventually I beat the game).

Developer

Well, thanks for letting me know that the robot is hard to control, and a

If one day I will update the game, then i will surely add more levels int the game (And many more thing and improvement...)

Submitted(+1)

nice pretty game , some sound would be nice :D , keep going o/ -Ivory-

Developer

Thanks for playing my game!!! Unfortunally i couldn't manage to add sfx... ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Submitted(+1)

Concept wise, it got some potential to be a good puzzle game. As of now, it is difficult to say.

Overall presentation is unfinished, but look like a low poly style that is efficient. Music and sfx were not there so cannot say. No bug found in this version of the game, and the control not working when behind wall worked.

So yeah, sad that it was unfinished, but good job on your weekend !

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and i wish you good luck too!!!

I'm sorry if some parts aren't well or are straight up missing (as you said, the game it's unfished ๐Ÿ™)  but i'm glad you enjoyed anyway!!!

As for the presentation, tried my best to quickly make 3 levels, 1 each for showcasing a core mechanics in the game, that is:

  • Robot controls/moviment and goal introduction
  • Static camera, and the fact that you can send the robot offscreen (Plus, the fact that when is not in the camera's viewspace you can't controll it)
  • You can't control the robot if obscured by an obstacle
Submitted(+2)

The game's concept has definitely lots of potential. It's a shame that you couldn't quite finish it, since the actual game felt a tad boring, at least in its current state. With content such as a movable camera, more complicated levels and some more movement options, this could've been a really nice entry.

Developer

Sadly, i agree... At the moment this is barely a game, more like a barebone prototype, and therefore is boring to play, plaus the low amount of avaible maps dosen't help. I have alredy expressed my opinion about movable cameras and  levels in a few past comments but about  the moviment options...

Well, moviment options i think they would be an excellent idea for the game, maybe a delay option to delay another move to a few seconds later, or maybe some special manover usefull to clear (or aviod) obstacle, or maybe even an attack option to attack some enemys... The possibilities are litterally endless, and it could also open for unlockable (permanent, i don't actually like how many people uses non-perm. power ups, but that's another story for another day...) power ups...

Since it was you to come up with the argument, unless you was refering to a previous comment, i'm assuming you have some ideas in mind: if that's the case (and if you feel like doing it, we don't force anybody doing anything here) feel free to explain better what you have in mind and/or want to see in the game

As always, thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing my game!!! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

I'm just throwing some ideas here, but what I had in mind were:
-Set camera positions that the player could switch between
-Camera movement constrained by one or two axis
-Different robots that receive the same input at the same time (but not when they're blocked)
-Buttons that robots can hop on and activate the first two abilities (the camera ones)
-Flying
-A toggable magnet that sticks to metal walls

Developer

Those ideas souns very interesting!! Thanks for sharing it!! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

(Also, what do you mean by "Flying"?? Like some sort of jetpack or something similar??)

Submitted(+1)

Yep, exactly! Something that moves the bot vertically.

Submitted(+2)

Cool concept! We all can see great potential in that. IMO, maybe can try letting the player control the camera, which orbit around the environment, so that player can get around obstacles to send signal to Cuby. (like Cuby is inside a building and the camera is the helicopter outside)

Developer(+2)

Well, i don't think a controllable camera is an idea that can really work (maybe rotatiating and/or moving fixed camerac can work... but not controllable cameras): the fact that you can't control the camera is a huge factor and pones great challanges to the player in fact of "where is send my robot next???" and "where i can controll it, and where i can't???". I think that if you can just rotate the camera anyway and anywhere you want, you just remove all of these challenging question and the gameplay whould just became "Ok, i need to go in X place, where should i move the camera, in order to still matain control of the robot an go where i need to go???". Also, moving cameras can be sometimes usefull, and sometimesa challenge sometimes (if not even both at the same time, witch is pretty scary to handle)... But it's worth the shot anyway, maybe fo a final level or something...

Anyway, this comment made me come up with an idea (so it wasn't valueless): cmaeras that activate someting when the robot is (or isn't) on screen and a "delay action" command

Thanks for playing my game and for the feedback, it's appreciated a lot!!! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Submitted(+1)

Ooh nice idea! I would like to see more levels with obstacles that could destroy the robot and perhaps even have enemies there. Great concept! It has potential.

Developer(+1)

Adding enemys sounds like a great idea: maybe you have to follow enemy in a stealth mission, without being seen yourself, or maybe you should dodge some turrets's projectles... the possibilities are endless!!! Thanks for the feedback!!! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Submitted(+1)

As a prototype, there's a really nifty little game somewhere in here! also, I really liked Cuby's model, he's a cute lil robot! Definitely keep working on it!

Developer

Wow, what a compliment that is!!! Thank you a lot!!!  And, of course, thanks for playing my game!!!

(Yeah, Cuby is cute af)

Submitted(+1)

Cool concept, I hope you plan to finish the game after the jam!

Developer

Thank you!!! I'll try to do that!!! ๐Ÿ˜Š
