Nice little robot, would have loved more levels :) Took a while to get hang of controls (I never really did, but eventually I beat the game).

Developer

Well, thanks for letting me know that the robot is hard to control, and a

If one day I will update the game, then i will surely add more levels int the game (And many more thing and improvement...)

Submitted(+1)

nice pretty game , some sound would be nice :D , keep going o/ -Ivory-

Developer

Thanks for playing my game!!! Unfortunally i couldn't manage to add sfx... πŸ˜₯

Submitted(+1)

Concept wise, it got some potential to be a good puzzle game. As of now, it is difficult to say.

Overall presentation is unfinished, but look like a low poly style that is efficient. Music and sfx were not there so cannot say. No bug found in this version of the game, and the control not working when behind wall worked.

So yeah, sad that it was unfinished, but good job on your weekend !

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and i wish you good luck too!!!

I'm sorry if some parts aren't well or are straight up missing (as you said, the game it's unfished πŸ™)  but i'm glad you enjoyed anyway!!!

As for the presentation, tried my best to quickly make 3 levels, 1 each for showcasing a core mechanics in the game, that is:

  • Robot controls/moviment and goal introduction
  • Static camera, and the fact that you can send the robot offscreen (Plus, the fact that when is not in the camera's viewspace you can't controll it)
  • You can't control the robot if obscured by an obstacle

The game's concept has definitely lots of potential. It's a shame that you couldn't quite finish it, since the actual game felt a tad boring, at least in its current state. With content such as a movable camera, more complicated levels and some more movement options, this could've been a really nice entry.

Developer

Sadly, i agree... At the moment this is barely a game, more like a barebone prototype, and therefore is boring to play, plaus the low amount of avaible maps dosen't help. I have alredy expressed my opinion about movable cameras and  levels in a few past comments but about  the moviment options...

Well, moviment options i think they would be an excellent idea for the game, maybe a delay option to delay another move to a few seconds later, or maybe some special manover usefull to clear (or aviod) obstacle, or maybe even an attack option to attack some enemys... The possibilities are litterally endless, and it could also open for unlockable (permanent, i don't actually like how many people uses non-perm. power ups, but that's another story for another day...) power ups...

Since it was you to come up with the argument, unless you was refering to a previous comment, i'm assuming you have some ideas in mind: if that's the case (and if you feel like doing it, we don't force anybody doing anything here) feel free to explain better what you have in mind and/or want to see in the game

As always, thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing my game!!! 😊

I'm just throwing some ideas here, but what I had in mind were:
-Set camera positions that the player could switch between
-Camera movement constrained by one or two axis
-Different robots that receive the same input at the same time (but not when they're blocked)
-Buttons that robots can hop on and activate the first two abilities (the camera ones)
-Flying
-A toggable magnet that sticks to metal walls

Developer

Those ideas souns very interesting!! Thanks for sharing it!! πŸ˜ƒ

(Also, what do you mean by "Flying"?? Like some sort of jetpack or something similar??)

Submitted(+1)

Yep, exactly! Something that moves the bot vertically.

Submitted(+2)

Cool concept! We all can see great potential in that. IMO, maybe can try letting the player control the camera, which orbit around the environment, so that player can get around obstacles to send signal to Cuby. (like Cuby is inside a building and the camera is the helicopter outside)

Developer(+2)

Well, i don't think a controllable camera is an idea that can really work (maybe rotatiating and/or moving fixed camerac can work... but not controllable cameras): the fact that you can't control the camera is a huge factor and pones great challanges to the player in fact of "where is send my robot next???" and "where i can controll it, and where i can't???". I think that if you can just rotate the camera anyway and anywhere you want, you just remove all of these challenging question and the gameplay whould just became "Ok, i need to go in X place, where should i move the camera, in order to still matain control of the robot an go where i need to go???". Also, moving cameras can be sometimes usefull, and sometimesa challenge sometimes (if not even both at the same time, witch is pretty scary to handle)... But it's worth the shot anyway, maybe fo a final level or something...

Anyway, this comment made me come up with an idea (so it wasn't valueless): cmaeras that activate someting when the robot is (or isn't) on screen and a "delay action" command

Thanks for playing my game and for the feedback, it's appreciated a lot!!! 😊

Submitted(+1)

Ooh nice idea! I would like to see more levels with obstacles that could destroy the robot and perhaps even have enemies there. Great concept! It has potential.

Developer(+1)

Adding enemys sounds like a great idea: maybe you have to follow enemy in a stealth mission, without being seen yourself, or maybe you should dodge some turrets's projectles... the possibilities are endless!!! Thanks for the feedback!!! 😊

Submitted(+1)

As a prototype, there's a really nifty little game somewhere in here! also, I really liked Cuby's model, he's a cute lil robot! Definitely keep working on it!

Developer

Wow, what a compliment that is!!! Thank you a lot!!!  And, of course, thanks for playing my game!!!

(Yeah, Cuby is cute af)

Submitted(+1)

Cool concept, I hope you plan to finish the game after the jam!

Developer

Thank you!!! I'll try to do that!!! 😊

Submitted(+1)

I can see where you going with this idea and is a real shame that you could not finished it

Also I would say extra points for trying to do something in 3D in so short period, keep going!

Developer

Than you!!! Yeah, 2D games are much easier to dev (It's debattable), but i enjoy more making 3D games sooo... 3D it is!!! 😊

Really cool concept. Cant say too much since the game is unfinished.

I would love it if when you failed, it reset faster.

Developer

Well, the comment is always appreciated!!! Thank you for playing my game and for the feedback!!!

Well, You're right!!! I forgot to write in the commands that you can press "R" to restart!!! I'll add on the description it once the jam is ended... 🀣🀣🀣

(But still, i don't think is THAT bad of a time, tho)

Really cool concept. Cant say too much since the game is unfinished.

I would love it if when you failed, it reset faster.

I like how this game restricts your agency in several key ways, and the minimalist style helps reinforce this. I'd love to see more levels that explore the ramifications of these restrictions.

Developer (1 edit)

Yeah, in the start i wanted to make more levels, mainly to explore better the mechanics of the game, Sadly in the end i didn't managed...

I'm glad you enjoyed the game that much... And i'm especially happy to hear that you liked the style, more importantly that if feels like a cohesive stile, rather than some cool models and some prototype models (that in reality that's exactly what it is, in reality I wasn't really trying to go for a precise art style, but whatever...)

About those restriction... "if you haven't control, then you're Out Of Control", am i right??? (Yeah i'm reaaly proud on how the about my game design and/or mechanics turned out...) πŸ˜‰

Submitted(+1)

really cool idea and controls  , you should develop this game after jam for sure cause a lot of stuff was missing due to the jam and maybe you didn't have enough time to work on it.

Developer

Thank you!!! I'm glad you liked!!! Well, yes, time was also a big factor on why this game is unfinished, but the primary reason is stress... 😊

About the developing of the game i'll try to continue to develop this game, but in the end it all comes down on how much motivation i have and how much it stresses me out... Well, it's a spiny situation in general... I don't want to promise anithing official, because i don't know if i can't keep my promises, But i'll promise i'll definitely try... πŸ‘

I played what was there and thank you for uploading something, lots of people didn't even get that far.

The tank controls and fixed camera reminded me of resident evil on playstation.

Perhaps lean into the fixed camera aspect and make the player switch between them like CCTV.

Better luck finishing the next jam!

Developer

Thank you for your kind words, to be honest i uploaded this project to "not let my work just go to waste", but from what i've seen the (not so) few people that playied it really liied the game and/or concept and i got some usefull feedback, so in the end it was totally worth it...

Funny enough, i was thinking the same thing while developing the game (what's even funnier is that i didn't even playied that game, i want and have to check it out one day...)

Wow... Switch trough different cameras in the same level??? That sounds like a really cool mechanic... I like it!! πŸ‘I wanted to add some monitor PPFX, but i didn't even come to that stage of gamedev

Thank you!! Thanks for playing the game and for the feedback!!! 😊

(+1)

Really cool game, kinda short, I would totally play more!

Developer(+1)

Glad you like it!!! Thanks for playing!!! 😊

Submitted(+1)

I am really interested to see how this would turn out if you had more time, I really like where it was going!

Developer

Thank you!!! 😊

The game needs polishing, and adding a custom skybox to your game scenes would've been nice. Sadly, its unfinished so its understandable.

Developer

Oh my... it didn't even come to my mind to change ths skybox... Let's just blame it that's because the game is unfinished πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£

And about the polish, yeah, i agree... Thanks for the feedback!!!

Submitted(+1)

Nice game, I really like the idea! It is sad that it is not finished :(

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! And thanks for the feedback!!! 😊

I really struggled with the lack of camera. But the character is super cute - wall-e like. The controls is a nice feature and fits the theme well. I'd play more levels if they existed and it was a bit more polished. Finish it! :)

Developer

I think your struggle with the camera comes from both the lack of polish of my game and the fact that the "OnScreenDetection" script is kinda wanky... But i can easly be wrong... (It's unbeliavble hard to guess player's feedback right sometimes...) Anyway i wanted to add a lillte UI element that displays Cuby's visual but in the end i didn't manage...

Yeah, originally i wanted to do at least 6 levels, but again, in the end i didn't managed to do more than 3... not really proud of the levels in the game either (i think they don't to a well job explaining the mechanics of the game, and the puzzle one is really straight forward and not much of a puzzle)

Onestly, what i regret the most is not having any sounds and not having a menΓΉ... (Not sure why i write this, nobody asked for it, but ok i guess.. πŸ˜…)

I'm glad you liked Cuby... Thanks for the helpfull feedback and for playing my game... I really aperecciate that... 😊

Submitted(+1)

Pretty good, I think you should work on it, I really like the idea!

(No need to talk about the polish)

Developer

Not sure if i'll manage to work on it, but i can tell you that i will try... (No need to talk abou it, indeed...)

Thanks for the feedback and, of course, for playing... πŸ‘
