This game is so cool. It took me a while to get used to rolling away from my mouse instead of towards it haha, I don't know if that was for the theme but I definitely felt less in control that way.
At first it felt a bit tedious waiting for the AI to kill the enemies, but once I got the staff this game became tremendously fun! Supporting the knight with the ice beam is very satisfying and really feels like you're working together. Great game!
Loved it! I like the AI partner, he was fun to play with. The game was fun, and just out of control enough to fit the theme but not to be rage-inducing. Good work!
What a wonderful experience! A nice rewarding secret room, really neat little concept, and a fun dungeon!
I only really had two issues:
The dungeon design was a little odd at one or two points. It was weird to me that the first section had the key to both the first and second section, if I recall, and I was very confused for a while as to how to get the ice wand, since I was hunting for the second key in the second section.
And the dodging. The dodging felt very unintuitive and strange, and dodging away from my aim mostly felt bad. I think most games with dodge rolls (like Enter the Gungeon's great dodge roll) you roll in the direction you're moving and not the direction you're aiming, which works a lot better.
Thanks so much!
1: I hadn't thought of it that way before but you're right, that layout might not be the most intuitive especially for a first level.
2: Haha yeah I'm getting a lot of notes on the dodging and I think I'd switch it to forward rolls if I had a time machine or a less tired brain when I coded it.
Love the concept and want to see more of this duos misadventures!
Got stuck (couldn't figure out the hmm statue?) but it looks to be really fun. Corner strats FTW. Pretty pixel art, great AI and fantastic take on the concept.
Love the fact that the slimes bounce around when hit by the barbarian - I really had to play around it and it definitely accentuated the out of control theme. Thanks for making this it was fun!
Outstanding and completely unfair. Takes all the instances where a player might say "Ugh this partner AI is letting me down" and turn them into "You bumbling meat sack! You saliva coated ham-axe! Must I do everything for us?!" in their best angry wizard voice. You can smell the buddy cop movie action from here. The music was a great help too. Well done all around.
Great game, everything about it was top notch, loved watching Wrack smash all the pots =D
Very polished game and what a great idea! Love the walking animation of the witch :D
This is awesome! Especially when you only had 48 hours. Great art, audio, and gameplay, well done :)
