Really great game design and art design! Your traditional sprite art animation is really good as well. And your topdown controls felt nice and smooth! Check out my entry if you have time, I am also a 1 arrow game, but a platformer~ good day!
Cool to see emphasis on the dodging, rather than the shooting. I would have liked to see more variety in the enemy attacks.
Definitely reminded me of Titan Souls, but to be fair so did the jam theme
The difficulty is pretty high (at least for me, a weakling) but it was an interesting idea overall!
Since a lot of people didn't get trough the room before the boss fight, therefore not completing this game. Here is a version of it with the annoying level removed: https://witherik.itch.io/the-last-arrow-ez
The game is very repetitive : you know what to do, one ennemy at a time, and as such, the game relies solely on your precise dodging. However, since the patterns are not diverse enough, dodging isn't really fun, and the action is more about going in and out of the enemy's range with good timing.
Maybe a dodge roll, and more diverse enemy attacks may have helped?
Personally, in being perfectly honnest, I'd say the game isn't bad, but quite average.

Alright, this game is good. Pretty polished but i think it lacks a difficulty setting and i think many would appreciate it. I think the hit boxes on the attacks are a bit off and i think the enemies could use a little nerf but that is just my opinion.
Love the art, the music and the effects, great job on those!
As a whole, this is a great game, which in my opinion needs a little tweaking. (i rarely rage at games but this one broke me lol)
Thanks for the feedback! I was trying to go for a hard game. And I totally agree with everyone saying the hitboxes are off. It's something, I'm going to keep in mind when developing the game further.
Also was the rage a good thing or a bad thing? :P
A bad thing as i was getting too frustrated. I've played games like Dark Souls and i haven't raged as much so theres that! :D
But again, maybe i just suck lol.
I like the idea, but there's some problem, the enemy attack hitbox is a little too big, sometimes I feel like I dodge their attacks but I still got hit. Second, I wish I can charge up the bow to shoot through the enemies or maybe deal more damage.
Fun concept! I'd love to see it refined a little more. I agree with a few of the things TrickyFatCat had to say.
Pretty good idea, but there are some problems.
Awesome game was pretty difficult to beat. Took a long time to figure out how to safely get my arrow back, made me really wish there was a dodge roll or some kind of movement option to get in and out. Was very fun to play and the art was well done.
Bloody hell this is a well-made game. While the difficulty is high - and it took me about 20 minutes to finish the game - I loved it. Brilliant job man.
My Rating: 5, 5, 5 :)
The enemy attacks were difficult to predict, but the movement and shooting felt smooth and kept CadenJO entertained for over 30 minutes in the Discord chat, so that says something as well
Nice that you have put effort to clearly show when the enemies attack.
I think this might've been served better if the swishy guys telegraphed their attack for perhaps just a fraction longer, but I like the way you've inplemented it. :)
A fun and great challenge, couldn't get passed the third level though. Any tips?
(Also loving that enemy art!)
Fun and lovely rendered. Fits the theme though it's not the more original concept and it laked some kind of twist, shooting feels solid but mechanics wise is not very deep, try going for a dodge roll or a sprint, maybe a few ranged opponents would complement the game as well.
I'll look into developing the game further. Thanks for the advice.
Fun game to play and fits the theme. Most of the game-play is dodging enemies rather than shooting at enemies. Maybe add more mechanics to escape enemies attacks (a roll that can also be used to quickly retrieve arrow while escaping danger),
and adding enemies that can attack from a distance (projectiles maybe, to support dodging mechanics);
just to spice up the part of the game that the player is mostly doing.
The graphics were fun and enjoyed your slash effects. Really enjoyed how the enemy corpse slowed the player down when colliding.
Thanks for the feedback!
Very nice game, fairly fun to play. Certainly fits the theme of only one. Biggest issue I'd have with it though is originality. One bullet type games are already fairly common and it was even mentioned as an example in the announcement video for the jam. I'd really love for you to take what you have and do more with it. Try to make having one arrow more interesting and not be just like the other 1 shot type of games.
