Nice take on the theme; a little tricky reloading when enemies are bearing down on you (but it'd help if I didn't get the keys wrong!)
This was fun, great work~

Nice game. The reloading mechanic is totally on point, you need to stop and fiddle around with some items while enemies are chasing you. The game is a bit short, but every level is very well designed.

Pretty fun, sound design is very good for a jam game, and the choice to purchase something at the end of each level is a cool system. Not exactly original, but still pretty neat.

The fact that the game rewards you if you're a precise shooter was a nice take

Than, you're forced in some levels to run pass some enemies just for some precious ammo or to not open a room with a life regen in it if you had not purchased the extra starting items and this can customize your experience, neat ^^
Overall a well-done game!

That last level was really smart, it put me in a totally uncomfortable position but still with the possibility of succeeding. Good job.

Great game, the control is abit unintuitive tho, always hit the wrong button, but the puzzle and gameplay are nice :)

What a good time! Almost more puzzle than shooter, I found the entertaingly awkward reload mechanics to be pretty dynamically interesting, with the potential to create a lot of moments of improvisation and tension, up to and including a lot of "ring around the rosey" type encounter solutions on my part. XD

Really nice concept, i really liked the last level. I could feel the stress. Maybe you could make the character with only one arm, and that way it would explain the concept by itself. Anyway, you get a nice rating!

I heavily liked the "Item juggling" part of the game, It really broke my prejudice of top-down shooter is always fast paced, But this game made me to actually think about the surroundings and ammo and stuffs before getting in action.

Also, Maybe throwing the gun when you drop it (a la Hotline miami) could be great for emergency situation and another puzzling descision otherwise!

Brilliant!

Stressful, but in a fun way. I like how the inventory limitation really forced me to plan ahead. Couple of nitpicks: some visual indication for whether a gun is loaded or not would have been helpful. I also might have softlocked the game at one point due to not having enough keys to move to the next level, not sure if this was intentional or if I just missed something. Fun game overall!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, the soft locking thing was an issue that cropped up pretty late when I was testing the game and I accidentally did it to myself... 3 times on the same level, haha. The idea was that there wouldn't be enough keys for everything so you'd have to choose between health or treasure, or maybe some special item or extra ammo. I appreciate the feedback! :)

Beautiful game and idea, but I think you make some moments too tricky. Mainly, a reloading system is too hard, and one bullet in a pistol is too low. However, I appreciate level design and overall difficulty flow.

Thank you for the feedback!

This is an incredibly fun game!

The mechanic seems really simple at first, and then you run into the first red enemy. Having to scramble around picking up ammo, loading it into guns, shooting targets, and avoiding getting hit made for a really exhilarating experience.

Having extra treasure be available on each levels, as well as upgrades in between each level really gave some room for expression within the game as well, which is great.

All in all great job, thanks for making this game!

The mechanics are great! Your game feel needs some work though. I'd consider getting some art for your player and enemies and some music for your game. https://www.purple-planet.com/ has some royalty free music you can use. This definitely has some potential.

Yeah, I definitely wish I could've made the game feel more "lively". Muzzle flash, camera shake, blood particles that stay in the level forever, the whole shebang. My time could've been better spent. Lessons for the next jam though, right?

Submitted(+1)

Well I don't think it was wasted though. Instead you put it towards level design to showcase your mechanic. Just a suggestion if you decide to keep working on it. :)

Excellent game, I like this one quite a lot.  The only one item concept is explored well and the levels are designed around it.  The whole experience feels good, and more importantly fun.  The minimal graphics give it a cheap feel though, and this doesn't match the awesome mechanics.  Another thing I would like to have seen built upon is 'stacking' items, such as putting ammo in a gun.  What about a keychain item where you can store multiple keys but it slows you down, or pick up boots to increase speed?  Anyway just throwing out some ideas, the game is well done for the jam lasting only 2 days.  Good job!

Thank you for the feedback! I am disappointed that I couldn't put at least one more item in the game, and one that would really start to explore the whole "one inventory slot" premise at that. I had this idea for a bag that could carry 3 items in it, but to get your items back youd have to drop the bag, which would spit both the bag and the items on the floor. I could see it creating this sort of mad scramble to get your gun from the bag, or some health potion or something. There's certainly potential I never got around to implementing haha
