How have you used the theme "Strength Lies in Differences" in your game?
We explored the symbiotic relationship between clownfish and sea anemone as both creatures are very different, but by working together, they create a powerhouse. The player plays as the school of clownfish and work to expand both the sea anemone and their own numbers.

I really like the idea and feel of this game as well as the audio.

It was a bit unclear if I was progressing or failing and I ran into a bug where I couldn't move anymore.

Thank you for playing! Could u tell me a bit more about where you got stuck? We didn't implement the game win and over screens much because our team only could work on this jam over the weekend instead of the full week, but if you run into those screens just reload the webpage and you should be able to move around in game again. If it's a different issue let us know!!

It was a whole phase before I won. I had moved the ball to be centered with the anemone and then it just wouldn't move in any direction.
Sorry I can't be of much more help than that.

Developer

Thanks for letting us know!! We'll try to actually finish the game after the review period ends and will be on the lookout for that bug :)

AWESOME! I look forward to playing this again! =)

Another small suggestion: you could drop the space/E buttons entirely and rely strictly on swarm placement/collision. For example, if I position the swarm over a weed, every fish that collides with the weed would "eat" the weed a bit more until the weed is removed. Same with hiding from predators - I would just need to move the swarm to the center of the anemone and they will hide in it as long as they are swimming within its borders.

I really like the concept of the game and the gameplay. That shark sound did its job and scared me to death! It is great to see fellow Maltese jammers :D

Thank you for your feedback :D we took a more literal approach but it seems it worked ^^

I liked the graphics. I read the instructions and thought the game was pretty straight forward,. I beat the game without much trouble. I only wish I knew how far I progressed and when I was going to beat it. The game over screen came to me at a surprise.

Thank you, appreciate the feedback :)

I appreciated it, although I would suggest improving the tutorial to make game mechanics more understandable. I died a few times before grasping what was going on... But once I understood how it worked I really enjoyed it. Overall I think it's a really nice approach to the theme!

Good use of the theme but lack of tutorial really hinders the experience but i see that it was a technical issue so not necessarily an oversight. Well done either way.

Developer

Thank you, yeah from discussing we agree a tutorial would have really helped us out! Thank you for the feedback :)

Nice art and concept. I like the use of the theme and the intro of how the clown fish and anemone rely on each other.

Developer

Thank you :) Appreciate the feedback!

I really like the use of the theme. Nice idea. It is quite difficult to know exactly how to play it well. Also the buttons did not work for me on death so I had to keep refreshing. Nice art style too.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah we felt that we should have found a way to maybe explain it better like an in game tutorial or something and yeah we realised after deadline it was broke xD Thank you for the feedback !

Tutorials are my weak spot. If you play mine definitely vist the game page and read the text before you try it. You won't find much reassurance in the game! Lol

I used to play games like this so I loved the idea straight away! The game was difficult for me at first (didn't realise I needed to eat :P) but I was able to get the hang of it! Great job

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed the game :)

This was a really cute game!! I liked the background music and the mechanics were nice. This fishies were cute and the shark was scary.

Developer

Thank you so much! Sorry I missed the stream, I hope you had fun playing!

I will never not enjoy this style of game.  Why do I want to make fish eat so much?  Good use of theme.

Developer

Haha thank you! We thought it was reminiscent of the flash fish games genre and those games were so fun! Glad you liked it :)

Very nice art, love the growing school of fish.

Developer(+1)

Thank you thank you, we had some very talented artists & programmers to work with :)

This is cool! Really clever use of the theme, and I love the combining of 'Nemo' and 'anemone'. :) Beautiful music and great visuals too. It's fun to see how the anemone develops as you progress.

Developer(+2)

Thank you for the feedback and yeah we have our designer Courtney to thank for that idea :)

Nice use of the theme! I loved the visuals and thought the anemone and fish swarm looked great.

Developer(+2)

Thank you, we were very happy with the fish swarm :) Never realised how beautiful a flocking algorithm could look! Thanks for the feedback :)
