Fun game, great job!
Thank you very much!
Nice game idea. Good job in making it!
Thanks for playing and for the review.
Good job! Thanks for playing.
Why did it collapse? I thought everything was going great!
I did lightning one person just to see what would happen... did that destroy civilization?
Other than that, a neat idea. Very simple though. I didn't use the fire ability since it sounded entirely counter-intuitive to the goal of the game. So I thought, perhaps, it was a test of the player to see how long they were willing to play a nice god. But then it went kaput anyway.
Hi! Your civilization collapsed because they had run out of food for quite some time. You have to keep an eye on the food and happiness levels.
In the beginning the game is rolling if you just keep watering the farms. But, the people keep reproducing until the food production cannot keep up with the food consumption and eventually the happiness levels will drop. It is then, your task to make the tough decision to sacrifice some of the population so that the rest can survive.
In any case thank you very much for playing!
Ah, I wasn't watching the food counter at all. I figured if I spent all my time watering the crops it would be enough to sustain them, especially when they had so many fields close enough to each other that I could hit two to four with one rain shower. That certainly explains the use of the lightning and the fireball! Perhaps I'm not cut out to be a tiny god. :)
It's a really fun game. The music is a bit scary, but overall it's a really good game.
Always loved the god games, great for a prototype, it does feel like im playing water the crops simulator currently but with a bit of work it might turn into something great! Good submission!
Thanks for playing!
Very fun game to play, I tried to scare a bit the inhabitants but it didn't change much, what purpose was intended with the destructive powers ? Otherwise good job !
Thanks! We are glad you enjoyed our game.
The destructive powers have the practical outcome of reducing the population so that a balance between food production and food consumption can be achieved. That is, in addition to the fun of throwing a fireball or a lightning.
Scaring the inhabitants sounds like fun, though. We will consider adding behaviour to the followers in a future update.
Very well fitting on theme of course and a quite interesting small god sim to play.
I managed to unlock the 3rd power, so I don't know if there are more, but it definitely has a learning curve to it.
As for feedback: a visualization of what you would hit with your power would be very helpful. Hitting 2 grain fields with 1 rain is paramount to getting a high score and knowing you won't hit the grain field when trying to fireball a villager would also help a lot (my poor grain field !)
Great job !
There is no other power for now, so you saw them all :) Thanks for the feedback, this is something we intended to implement also!
I love god games, not so many of them these days. nice work. At first I didnt really understand why I would smite the people but then I realised its a case of not over populating. Good work
Exactly! Thanks a lot!
Nice concept! Everything must be perfectly balanced to make it through the years haha. I got to year 390, it really sped up by the end
True it gets harder at some point, thanks a lot for trying it out!
Very fun game to play! At the beginning pace is quite slow, but later it's super fast. It would be nice if we could buy some extra capacity for happiness and faith, to slow down the pace a bit, but for a game jam, it's an amazing submission!
Thanks for playing and for the suggestion!
Fun concept! I like how the capsules all have unique faces - nice touch! I was MOSTLY a kind god to my people, but I had to smite some of them. OK, maybe more than some.
Thanks a lot! A God has to be rough sometimes 😂
This was really fun! Its simple but does a lot with it. Do the colour of the population do anything specific? I saw blue, purple, red and wasnt sure if they related to anything. Reading chatnoir's comment I had the same thought, at first I thought I had to use the fire on the trees or something - took me a second to comprehend the squares with water. But I think it'd be cool to add player influenced placement.
Great job on the game!!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! The colour of the people is just for variation, We used GameDev Essential Kit - Capsule [Free Edition] by AssetHunts! for them.
A simple but very interesting game! It's cool to see the planet come to life with all the little pops moving around. The main menu UI is beautiful.
I also really loved how the fields keep the same texture but change height and color depending on the growth stage. It's a really smart trick.
Maybe instead of creating fields at random locations, it would be nice to give that control to the player. For example, you could introduce mechanics like: forest + fire = ash ground, then ash + rain = new field, or other combinations.
Overall, it's a chill game and a great submission!
Thank you very much!
I must say I am amazed at your score! I don’t think I have ever managed to reach year 1000, although using the thunder-strike it is feasible.
We had a thought about letting the player selecting where to place farms instead of randomly spawning them, but we wanted to give the player only indirect control. Your idea is brilliant as it is compatible with the indirect control mechanic. We will certainly try to implement it. Thanks!
I'd definitely play an extended version of this, I got to 600 something and by then I could mostly just spam rain and occaisionally kill a few people to keep the population around 100. I think adding auto rain and other upgrades would be very fun :) Great Job
Thanks for playing! We were thinking about adding more stuff but didn’t have enough time.
Interesting concept!
Thanks!
Survived till tear 269! It is quite easy in the beginning but as the population grows the difficulty ramps up.
Amazing presentation! From the start I got the feeling of a premium quality game. Very good polishing! Also I loved the font and the music!
Καλή συνέχεια στο Game Jam!
Ευχαριστούμε πολύ!
Yeah, it is quite hard. As I wrote in my reply to another comment the reason is that given a more or less constant birth and death rate the population grows exponentially but the food production grows linearly. :-)
Really cool game, I enjoyed it. I wish there was more gameplay, i liked playing it. At the end it was quite hard, but blancing a game in such a short time is really hard.
Nice work.
Thank you a lot. We wanted to add more but didn’t have enough time. Perhaps, in the future… ;-)

Hey our games have the same concept! x)
Had a lot of fun playing. Was way too kind my people and that caused my downfall lol
Wow, indeed! We almost implemented the mechanic that lowers or stops faith production when the people are hungry… But we decided the game was already difficult enough at the later stages so it would not make much of a difference.
We are glad that you liked our game. Next time, you may want to thunder-strike some of your citizens… :-)
