Hi, cool kid here, so i played the game and now i'm gonna be commenting about it. Lets start of by saying the game splash screen looks weird, its all blurry and stuff. Now, lets get to the actual game. Like pretty much everyone's said already and im sure your tired of hearing this but, i couldn't get past the first level. There are multiple levels right? Anyway.. this game has got one of the best art i've seen so far, im impressed. But considering most people will quit after 10 seconds cuz the game is too damn hard, no more content will be revealed and all your extra hard work will be lost. The music feels nice, but the game itself doesn't fit the jam theme. From what i've gathered some guy who looks like you, i hope its not u lul, kidnapped a kid for some reason to force him to complete your challenge.. not that original or innovative. A tutorial or how to play menu would have been nice. I also recommend gradually increasing level difficulty, otherwise it's like forcing a baby to run a marathon. Besides that the game has an amazing, but in its current state its not good. Kudos, good job, hope you keep this in mind for next time.

The game is very hard, and you have right about the point to make maiby an example level were the player get some instructions.
About the game theme. If you had past the first room you would have said something else. because the games about to escape from these rooms, but how you escape from them doesnt make sense. I dont want to spoiler you the game, but if you want to have a second look at it. Check out the left wall very well of the first room.
About the story. I hadnt much time to create the reason why you in these rooms. I hadnt really a idea but I dont wanted that the player didnt know whats going on, so yeah.
That with the splash screen, I dont really know what happend but I didnt implement one so, what the fisch.
After the jam I will update the game. And it will be not really esier but you will at least know how to play and what to do. Feel free to check it out then lol.

The game could turn out to be a banger, good luck. And as for the theme thing i said.. if i got you right your telling me that the game is lying to me on how to escape the rooms? I didn't really see the game telling me anything except the guy in the dark. But ill rerate it. And your welcome! Keep up the good work! :)
close, the game dont tell you how to escape. The escape path IS a lie. again I really dont want you to spoil you the game but as example you can go trough a few walls. And Thanks!

I'm not sure i understood the treasure room riddle, i think i kinda did, though i found how to reach the end of the level, but for the next step i had to try like 4 times before the first door would actually let me through.
Anyway i reached the end of the story, which was cool ;)
The music loop is a bit short like some people said but it is sufficient i believe, it gives a good atmosphere to the game. The SFX could use some more work but they sure are of decent quality.
The graphics are really polished, good job !
If I were to give some advice i would say to work on the level design primarly, especially since the playable area is not what you see, i kinda played all the levels walking against everything i could.
Also the hitbox of the player against spikes is kinda huge, maybe consider reducing its size.
Overall you did a great job, congrats !
Wow, you really played the hole game till the end. I appreciate it a lot because I noticed that the treasor room might be too hard. But now I know thats possible ! thanks man.

I dont really know the problem with that last (first)door. maiby I set the hitbox a little bit too high.

Overall I startet the hitboxes wrong, normaly in a topdown game the player has just feedcollider and the rest of the map have normal collider, but in this game its reversed: the player has a fully body collider and all the objects have headcollider . example the spikes.

Cool game! Although I couldn't even get past the room in the beginning, The Music was very good and the footsteps sound real good with type type of game that it is presented with. The pixel art is super cool and it compliments the type of game it is and it's SFX . Overall good job! Also for the rating a gave you the benefit of the doubt for the theme since I din't go all the way through.

First of All, I really loved the sound track..The graphics, especially the player animations are amazing.
However, I could not interact with anything(maybe a glitch on my side idk)..I just kept pushing buttons xD..
Other than that you should definitely keep working on this game.

The presentation of the game is nice, but I don't know how I can discover with which objects I can interact. Which button do I press? Do I just try to interact with everything in the room?
im very sorry but I tried to hide the cursor because at the time I disnt now how to hide it. you cant you anything with the mouse. you just need to walk around and go trought things.
Amazing graphics, very nice music and sounds, it fits the theme really well, the puzzles are challenging but not impossible, it's overall pretty fun and the story is pretty cool as well, great game!

Nice Game I love the aesthetic of it ! Nevertheless some of the puzzles are weird (that's not the problem ) so you die often and having to restart from the beginning is pretty annoying. It would be awesome if the game could get a checkpoint system !

If you get rid of those lines between the tiles, this would almost feel like a polished game.
I can explain you: at first I could fix this, but then I had a blue screen and the material I put on the tilemap just did id worst, but at first it fixt it. I didnt want to quit the jam just cause of this. srry for that :(

The music is good but extremely short so it gets annoying after some 30 loops (still, I see it is quite common among the jam entries, and I understand it is hard to find the time to compose a piece of music that is both long and good).
Restarting every time from the first room gets tiresome, I died a lot of times. Consider having the player respawn in the last room he reached.
Also, just moving a short distance away from where a dialogue is triggered and coming back will repeat it. You could add two lines of code to avoid repeating the dialogues too often, for example until the player dies, or until a certain time has passed.
The pixel art style works well. You doubtlessly beat me in graphics, and by far. I see you have made 9 different animations for the character and the result is very nice.
