Ahh this game is so flippin beautiful!  Extremely well polished, enjoyed the death tips and animations, this platformer is just chefs kiss.  Great work!

The concept is really brilliant. Awesome execution! All the mechanics are well joined together.

I need to eat sushi now :)

Developer

Hi! Glad you enjoyed the game, and glad our game made you wanna eat sushi :)

Super cute game, I love the graphics and the music. Also very creative and interesting mechanic

I have to give this a 5 on creativity just for the adaptive music, hugh props for that! I don't know why, but this gave me sort of jetpack joyride vibes in the best way possible. The giant ominous die in the background is a good constant reminder of how this fits the theme, and what's about to happen.

My only small complaints are that there should be a bit more coyote time, and I wish there was more done with surfing on chopsticks, I would've loved to have an event where you had you have to really use that mechanic.

Developer(+1)

Hi! Thanks for playing the game, and thanks for giving us some tips :) Glad you enjoyed it, and I will definitely add more coyote time! Currently, it's only 5 frames, but maybe I will extend that a bit. I also agree that we should be able to surf on chopsticks, but we did that post jam as we just didn't have enough time to add so much content into the game. Again, appreciate ya and keep watching those streams :)

A really good looking and challenging game!

The mechanics work really well and the fact you added adaptive music is just wow.

It's definitely one of those games that you just want to give another try again and again : D

One thing I am not sure was intended, but that I personally liked is, how you can still place tiles midjump.

Developer

Hi! Thanks for playing and leaving such a kind comment! Yes, the midjump placement is intended so people can clutch :)

We really enjoyed playing through this on stream yesterday. The epitome of what a jam game should be. A solid and small core idea, polished to near-perfection. I loved the emergent styles and discovery that come out of learning how the different dice rolls force you to behave.

It was fun to trade turns with my co-streamer and see who could get the high score. The platforming was really tight and led to some seriously tense moments that felt challenging and fair.

Congrats to your team, you should be really proud of what you accomplished!

Developer

Thank you so much for streaming and playing our game yesterday, and thanks for the kind comments! It took hours to adjust the controls to make the game feel tight, glad you enjoyed it!

It is so very pretty.

Submitted(+1)

It was intuitive, easy to play but hard to master! Had an amazing time :D I'd love to see more!

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed it! And thanks for the follow :)

Definitely not the sort of game I was expecting got see in this jam with this theme.  Or at least not the style of it and the setting.  But thinking about (and asking) it does sort of make sense adn it is a pretty cool setup and a pretty fun game.

The dice really liked to screw you with the knifes which was interesting tom deal with especially since you could jump on them  and the chopsticks.  One thing I will say though is it wasn't fully clear what was happening sometimes with the dice, mainly the "super" powerup I'm not sure what it was supposed to be, I'm assuming invincibility maybe ?  But otherwise not entirely sure.

One interesting thing I think that could be added would be platforms that have their own hazards possibly.  Or maybe platforms changing to have hazards etc. like a [stovetop or a hot bowl of ramen broth (since it starts with a bowl of, I believe ramen?), or a cutting board where a knife drops.

Just some general ideas though to mix it up.  Overall a very interesting game setup though.

Developer

Thanks for such a thorough feedback/suggestions! The super is not fully implemented because I ran out of time. Also, thanks for streaming and playing the game :)

Very cool! I'm in love with art and animations!  I'n not so lucky tho.. keeps getting X X and fall apart..

One good tac would be to wait first for some time so you get many items to land on late :3

good job guys! really liked it keep goin^^

Developer

Hi! Glad you loved the art! Yes, the game is very luck-based, (hence roll of the dice) so don't feel too bad if you keep getting spleefed by the dice. Yes, it's an intended strategy to stay on the starting platform to gather more items. Thanks for playing and leaving us a comment :)

Amazing entry! I think everyone agrees that the Graphics, Music, Visual & Sound FX are off the charts. Like the level of detail is crazy, it even features the backgroud noise of a busy Sushi spot. Like really, how was this done in merely 48 hours is beyond my mortal comprehension, so congratulations for the hard work! And to put salt on the wound, the idea is original and the gameplay is quite fun and challenging! Hope to see it in the top at the weeks end!

Hi! Thank you for your kind words, you really just made my day :) In case you're wondering, I had like 8 hours of sleep total during those two days, which is why I did so much, not to mention I have a teammate to do all the pixel art. Here's a tip for you: if you use Unity, use their post-processing and particle systems to enhance your game's polish/details. It's the quickest way to make your game look and feel good :)

The presentation is amazing and I had a lot of fun with it. For a short little game it can be a bit challenging but doesn't overstay its welcome!

The game is nice cute little game. It's kinda like an endless runner (which is what I tried to make but failed because I had barely any time) but you're not involuntarily constantly moving. I really liked the art and the sound, they make the game infinitely better. I tried my best and spend a lot of time to not suck and get a score above 150 but failed lol.

Developer(+1)

LOL, glad you enjoyed our game! Yes, it is a bit difficult. Even I, the developer, only got like 139 m after sweating for a good 15 minutes! The highest I know someone ever got was a bit less than 200m, don't remember the exact number. Again, this game is very luck based, so don't feel too bad about not getting 150m. I have no idea how the person got 200m, must have gotten many slow-mos in a row lol. Thanks for playing it!

Great platformer! Thoroughly enjoyed the game. It was difficult to plan for the random events that show up every now and then but that great experience overall! AWESOME ART ^^
