I've had a good amount of fun playing your game and did several runs.
Presentation is top notch, everything from art style, UI, game juice, legibility and just overall concept of the level is great.
I think a survival timer, score or kill count of sorts would've added to the enjoyment a lot more.
The control scheme takes a bit of time getting used to, I don't recall playing a game with it before. I think if you had mouse aim I would've played it for even longer.
Overall solid entry! Good job, game is fun and looks amazing.
Lovely shooter, nice idea, finger shooter was funny.
Maybe tone down the chip tune though :D
Aw dang, I goobered it! Love the art and presentation here - actual gameplay is pretty basic, but it is well implemented and feels good to control. Well done :)
Love the clean and smooth art style! Some option to reroll during or between rounds might've been interesting.
This game is super fun! The music was fenomenal at giving the player that arcade-y feeling that this game begged for. Also loved the stat assigning mechanic, just wished it would come up more often, as a way to level up randomly or something similar thoughout the rounds. The art was also super cute and creative! Great game!!!
This was fantastic!! Really loved the art and polish on display. Would love a score counter! (Unless I'm totally blind and missed it - I died each time I played haha)
Had to Alt-F4 to exit after winning. Literally unplayable!
Lol, jk, good game. One of the most enjoyable entries I’ve played so far.
Lol I meant to quit out of the app there, or find time for a proper setting menu with a quit button... but alas, the game jam 6AM sleepiness set in and I just had to ship it as is! 😅
Thanks for playing!
Oh wow doing multiple playthroughs actually feel different, I expected to be basically the same thing but it's nice how changing stats actually change the way you play. The game feels nice and even if a bit different, I like the aiming with the arrow keys. The art is amazing, especially the enemies! Really cool and fun.
Ahh that is awesome to hear you felt that! I spent a good bit of time balancing the stats capture exactly that feeling. I wanted trade offs to feel meaningful— for all the stats to be equally important. I didn't quite nail it (Health is not super valuable, Speed is nearly critical to keep at a 3 or higher, and Haste is maybe a tad too powerful), but nevertheless I was pleased with where things ended up.
Cheers, and thanks for playing! 👉🎲
The concept executed really well for a game made in 48 hours! What really lifts the game up is that you have a choice on which stat gets a high number die.
Love that you made the stat range wide enough to make a noticeable difference instead of going for something a little more middling.
Also, I love your videos! I actually ported your transition effect to a URP render feature pass for the jam
Loved the dog. I think it would be cool if you could arrange the dice to get not only better "numbers", but some cool additional mechanics for your gun (multiple shots, explosions, pierce - these sort of things).
Totally! "Shot Count" was one of my earlier ideas for rollable stats. At one point I wanted to do a whole roguelike dungeon gen, but of course that was scrapped for time! 😅 Thanks for playing!
Also the dog is actually a very quick paint of my puppo, Monty 🐾
Yay, I managed to beat it! Weaving through those enemies was real fun, you did great with the art too. The dog is very lovable and I hope they are proud of me.
Very cool game, realy! I like this genre, where you need to survive, and in this game it fits with theme very interesting! respeeects!
Love all the characters, especially the dog. Great use of the theme. Wish there was an endless mode with a high score, maybe waves of enemies and you have to re-roll every time. But that might be too dependent on luck. Great job!
Funny game, nNice animations!
I like the "luck" animation, random chance doesn't really work unless the player knows it's working after all. Similarly though, I think health bars for the enemies would have given us a better idea of how our stats impacted gameplay more.
Simple art and gameplay. reminds me of old SNES games.
This is very neat. Super simple concept, but an excellent use of the theme
Also, I laughed when the dog said I "goobered it". Good stuff.
simple. solid use of the criteria. at it worked. ticked all the boxes! you definitely spent the 2 days gettin' things to work, look good, sound good, and feel good. Needs a little extra spice. overall, it's a solid game. thank you for submitting
Nice concept, and very polished game, good work buddy! my left arrow key not working but still funny :D
