hallo i really like all the personality in your game! so cute and cohesive especially for so large of team! The risk/reward system of standing on the right tile when you defeat a die is clever as heck!

Here's some bugs/issues I encountered:
-friction moving against wall
-no crosshair on controller made it a lot harder to aim compared to mouse controls
-projectiles not hitting enemy sometimes
-"next wave" button in the shop and all the UI in-game gets cut off on ultrawide monitor
-the guy climbed on my head and we danced

Boats!

Thank you for playing!

I'm glad you enjoyed the game :)

I just checked the UI and it seems like we forgot to properly set up both the in-game HUD and the shopping screen in its canvas... OOPS. The other points are things overlooked unfortunately, I definitely will keep them in mind for future games! Thank you for the feedback :D

I like the models and love the colour palette, the voice work was excellent as well. Gameplay wise it was was fun but i'd think about making the enemy hitboxes bigger and throw in a boss fight (unless there was one and I just didn't get to it :P). I did also notice that sometime an enemy will go under one of the large hands and you won't be able to target it well with the smaller hitboxes

Very well done, complete game! The voice acting, attacks, multiple enemies, animations, and  upgrades were all spectacular! Really cool to see a complete game on here for this jam.

The only thing I would improve if you decide to do anything else on this game, is to have a short tutorial wave, where you explain how you can earn extra money. Its in the description, which is awesome, but usually it's better to show than tell (our game is guilty of this too).

Overall, very well done! You and your team should be proud!

Goodness this is fun! The level of visual flair is just delicious here and the gameplay is so fun! I love the way the dice is tossed before coming alive, the little limbs and weaponry on them is cute. My favorite bit of art though is the hands around the table and how they occasionally move, it makes it all feel much more immersive and vaguely threatening, they really are just gambling on your death...

Gameplay also feels pretty balanced in terms of upgrading stats, I actually had no idea the numbers on the table were relevant until I went back to read the description XD

Amazing game it feels super polished so well done!

Thank you for all your kind words and feedback Zelveri!

Great all all around presentation! The visuals and sound are great and fit together really well. I like the concept with all the different dice flying in and that they can spawn in different orders depending on how long they roll for. Only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the bullets firing from just off center which means you need to aim slightly off as well. Overall fantastic work!

Developer

Thank you so much Vim for the feedback! Totally agree about the off-center firing. Thank you so much!

Developer

Thanks for playing Vim! Glad you enjoyed!!

Awesome job! I love that you put VO in your game, super fun and quirky. Also the art was fantastic, especially all the menus (the audio sliders are goblin ears? Amazing, so much attention to detail!)  The game was a fun top-down shooter. I didn't quite understand the mechanic described on the game page about getting extra money based on the rolls. But still I had a lot of fun, well done!

Developer(+2)

Hiii!

Thank you so much for playing!

So for the mechanics, each enemy will be a randomly rolled die, if you stand on the numbered field corresponding the enemy you kill; you'll gain some extra gold!

Hope that helps haha

Thank you so much Ryan!

i think this game has a lot of potential to be a very fun top-down bullet-hell shooter!

though the dice mechanic took me a while to figure out, i think it did add an interesting layer to the gameplay. the waves did get maybe a bit too difficult around waves 4-5 (probably with how many enemies there are at that point?), and for some reason the projectiles that i shoot out don't exactly align with the mouse pointer (an issue that i might recognize as it was a problem when i also tried doing 3D top-down shooters at a skewed camera angle, something to do with how the camera detects the pointer's position IIRC).

the game is still very well done though, not to mention that the presentation is especially really charming!

really loved this one! Nice to see some people from Ludum as well!

Really liked the concept, it was easy, cute, and well executed! The voice lines were really nice and helped the game feel a bit alive!

It wasn't clear to me at the start how the dices worked, I thought you had to guess what number they would land on but I think it ended up being that you had to kill them on that number (if I am wrong about that I played it completely wrong so lmk ^^)

I got to wave 12 which was completely insane, the number of enemies was a bit overwhelming lmao. Especially the ones that exploded were very chaotic and made it a bit unclear what was happening sometimes.

Great entry!

Really love this concept, although it wasn't immediately clear to me the significance of the dice rolls. I thought maybe it dictates enemy behaviour, but that seemed to be more controlled by the color of the dice thrown. Overall, the gameplay and idea were interesting and the aesthetics were definitely creepy! Well done!

Submitted(+2)

The aesthetic is great, visual and sounds. Feedbacks to the payer also great.

I couldn't grasp, however, what was the difference for each side rolled on the dice. Maybe I was too frenetic trying to shoot them and couldn't get it.

Good job!

Developer

Hi!

Thank you for playing :D

So basically, you're the betting chip in a casino dice game and you want to be in the correct numbered field when you kill the corresponding enemy (face up on the die) to get a bigger coin return/bet. Hopefully that helps a bit!

Oh, I see. Interesting gameplay concept, encourages moving around the table to maximize the profit :)

Nice game. Amazing graphics. Please check out my game.

Realy fun game, got a score of 17

This game has a high level of polish, as expected from such a (relatively) large team, and there's a good bit of fun to be had. I will say that I didn't even notice the income-based-on-position mechanic until I read the comments, and  the aiming was always slightly offset from where I actually clicked, which with the small enemy hitboxes, made shots unnecessarily miss far too often. I did like this, though, I just wish I could like it a bit more.

Submitted(+3)

Outstanding aesthetics, compelling gameplay, decisions to make with each upgrade impacting the gameplay in its own way... This game is an absolute winner! I love it!

I would play it for a lot longer, however at some point I ran into this bug where an enemy spawned out-of-bounds. I assume it fell to a lower Z-level than the table is on. I couldn't shoot it and it couldn't shoot me. If that's the case, a ten second fix would be to ask Enemy.Update() if the enemy is on the usually inaccessible Z level 0. If it is, delete it and spawn another enemy.

Fix that bug, and you'll have a game that I'd want to play for hours. Amazing job, team!

Developer(+1)

Hiii!

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

What you described there is most likely what happened haha, we didn't run into this while playtesting at all so it hadn't crossed my mind to put in the fix (an oversight, unfortunately :D) and I'm sad to hear it has softlocked people while on good runs!

Perhaps, after the voting period ends, I'll drop in a quick hotfix + hitbox and shop fixes while at it, but no guarantees!

Also, thank you for your kind words! ^^

I love the aesthetics of the game! I think i played to level 13 or something like that until i felt like there was nothing else to see.

I wish there was more to do than just to upgrade firerate and movespeed. it felt like i never really did anything other than holding down the mousebutton until everything was gone, and i'm not sure it felt that satisfying.

would love to revisit after a couple of bugfixes and maybe some more content! :D

Developer

Moose thank you for your kind words about the aesthetics and for the feeback. Appreciate you!
