Brilliant snake style game. I like how you mixed the theme into this. I did die instantly in 1 game because 2 AI spawned inside me.
Hey, playing this game was pretty fun.
(I just skipped the instructions initially, lol - then I understood that dice are supposed to help come up with a strategy.) It is very engaging. I lost most times but its a good take on worm io kind of concept.
If you have time, please take a look at my game, I am considering to turn it into a full game and your feedback will help. Thanks :)
Awesome game, great work with it! Really enjoyed this one!
Cool idea, I like this game , so enjoyable, good job
People keep comparing this game to Tron and Snake. I don't know what they're talking about. Seriously though, great fun. It's a super simple concept but has a great strategy. Obviously there's some luck aspect to it, but it feels more strategic than just straight luck.
The visual presentation is elegant, and the game is an interesting take on the snake genre, I don't think it would hurt to let the player know the AI's dice numbers. That would allow the player to effectively play aggressively instead of constantly waiting for the AIs to corner themselves. The AI tends to kill themselves a bit too much but since this is a jam game, the fact that you even have them up and working is impressive. Great job!
Amazing game. I like the clean UI and graphics. Please check out my game.
Nice aesthetic, also reminded me of Tron/Snake. The option of 3 random dice gave some nice strategy element. The only downside was that without screen edge traversal, the optimal strategy for me was to wall off a large section of the map and then just do laps while waiting for the enemies to kill themselves off.
"Pls report any bugs you see" - love a good pun
Well this is not the kind of game I expected with thsi theme, but it does use it and it sort of fits. Though I wills ay I didn't really use the dice too much, at least the switching mechanic. Unless I ras REALLY stuck near an enemy bug or something. That was about the only time I used it because it allowed me to switch up my path to avoid being caught. Just barely though.
Most of the time, because of how the enemies can block you, I spent my time jujst making a 'fort" where I could go back and forth forever. Not exactly the most fun, but definitely7 the better strategy bin my opinon., Since there is no way to delete trail and you can't run into your own it fits.
A good fix could maybe be some sort of ability dice or something to help mix it up[. Allows you to make a decision between moving or using some sort of ability to impact the setup. For example having a limited number of charges per turn to make you have to pick more. Could work. Or just make it so that it can randomly have an ability instead of a move etc.
Overall though a decently challenging game, with a great opener and some nice visuals and visual style throughout. As usual with boats lol. Was a fun experience and I will be interested to see if there's more done with it.
This was a really neat take on Tron; I wish I was better at it
Really well-executed tron-style game! The dice planning gives a nice level of strategy. Would recommend giving this one a try!
I really liked this one. Really clean and well made and a pretty fun concept. Could see this working well as a multiplayer game too.
Excellent. Well done on this jam game! Gives me snake/tron vibes mixed with the aesthetics from the HIVE board game. And a very polished experience for a 48 hour jam, too.
I really liked that you give the player choice about which dice to use. It would have been easy to just give the player one die at a time, but rolling three adds a lot of thoughtful decision making. That's so important when designing games with random elements like this jam's theme enables.
Did you try adding more information regarding the enemies' movement? It would have been interesting to have partial information on their next move, like distance they intend to move, but not direction. But this might be information overload and totally unneeded, but I'm curious how that would affect the gameplay.
Congrats on submitting and keep making games!
Super great take on the theme! It's almost like Snake on steroids haha? Thought it was great, and played at https://www.twitch.tv/hedgein <3
Nice game design and well executed.
How did the AI decide the movement? Was it random or did it have a strategy?
Really neat, great submission
Nice idea and execution. Well done!
Such a cool idea, and I appreciate all the polish! So good!
Cool game ! Love the idea.
Remind me of blokus a bit. The hexagon grid bring a really cool depth too it.
Good job. I enjoyed playing it :)
Movement mechanics and gameplay are both really fun. I love the little texts in the menu and the different characters. Would be very fun as a little mobile game if expanded. It would also be interesting if the different characters had different abilities, but still very fun!
