Theme interpretation
I took the theme as a challenge to myself to aim a little higher and learn new things. In previous game jams, I've stuck to 2D. But I saw Moonshot as an opportunity to venture into the 3D space.

Beautiful game! The blend of pixel and 3D art worked very well.

I love the amazing chiptune music, the smooth controls and hilarious humorist tone. I truly enjoyed going through the whole game, the level design and the difficulty progression is very well done.

Just a small comment, I would say that I struggled a bit sometimes to figure out where to land in the exact position I wanted, but I guess it’s also part of the challenge here.

Congrats! Outstanding job!

Amazing game with a great Game Design and gameplay

One of the best games I've played yet!

The humor just amazing, I really enjoyed all dialogs!

I really enjoyed playing this game. The sprites are so fun to look at, the music is so interesting to listen to on loop, the jumps are super fun too! I do hope I get a bit more movement options (I only got through the red bridge) like sprinting or some extra animations like a ground rolling when landing etc to make it more fun. However, there is already a lot in this game that keeps me playing. Nice one!

Great game! Visuals and sounds were very nice, the polishing was to the point and the dialogs fun :-)

I has a few issue with the camera where it wouldn't show me the back of some blocks and I felt in holes that weren't visible, but beside that, the gameplay was smooth.

Good job!

Nice entry! The dialogue was really funny, and you did a good job of making increasingly difficult and complex tasks from simple mechanics. I appreciate that you didn't need to collect *every* pickup for each level, so you could move on if a challenge felt too tough, but it still keeps track of how many you do so you can gloat to your friends.

The music was pretty simple, but I really like how the tracks layered on as you progressed. Little touches like those make a big difference.

The fixed camera angle was a nice touch, and made it impossible to get lost (just move up), but it was sometimes a little difficult to tell what height a block was at (especially when it's floating off in space). Not sure what you could have done differently there, though.

Overall, really solid entry!

I really really like this entry, amazing work, the writing and dialogs are too funny, breaking the fourth wall, the mechanics although simple are quite challenging, graphics work very well and mix between 2D and 3D is awesome. One of my favorite entries of this jam if I may say so. Good job!

Great sounds and very fun take on a 2d/3d platformer. Really enjoyed all the dialogues and when i get a jet pack I was really sold =)

Very nice, slick presentation and the forgiving checkpoints helped with my poor depth perception.

The SFX were great :)

The dialogue was rather funny. The jetpack fuel system could probably get some more love, It would randomly stop propelling the character, even though I had enough fuel and was holding the Space key. Still a fun game :)

Excellent work! The sound work and visuals gave it a great vibe, and it was a lot of fun to play.

That was great! I really loved the funny dialogue. The mechanics were fun and I appreciated that you gave the player multiple ways to finish each section. The platforming with the jetpack got pretty difficult for me near the end, so it was nice to be able to grab the scrap I could and still finish the game. Also, the way the level built itself so was cool. Reminded me of one of the levels in Mario Galaxy. Great job with this one!

This is very well designed game!  Easily understood the mechanics and you introduced them perfectly thanks to the great level design.  The humor is great too.  Love these types of games and love this game!

Really fun game! The controls felt really responsive and intuitive. The artwork was fantastic and the audio was perfect for the setting. The humor was a nice added touch and I laughed out loud a few times at their comments.

I really liked the level design. The way the game teased the higher blocks early on made me think I was missing some sort of input or movement tech to reach them, and then I saw the rocket packs and everything made sense. That was a really awesome touch. I also loved how the camera tilted up whenever you went behind a tall block, so the player could still see the character. That's a very impressive level of polish for a jam game!

There were a few places where the platforms felt a little bit unfair. It's an issue I've had with 3d platformers for a long time where sometimes judging distance is just too hard especially in the front-to-back plane. You had the shadow under the character which helped a lot with that issue but whenever I used the jetpack I had a really hard time with it again. One solution I can think of for that would be to make some of those platforms be more generous to land on (coyote time). Another would be to have something to fill the same functionality of the shadow when you're hovering over the void (not sure what that would be but just a thought).

Good game overall, I really enjoyed it! :)

My favorite part of the game was the evolving music. That was the carrot I needed to finish the game. I wanted to know how the next part would sound like, and boy, it just got better and better. I like that you don’t have to collect 100% of the scraps, but just enough to get the bridge fixed. Especially for the last levels, because it became moderately more difficult for each level. I like how you “teach” the player about the mechanics without punching a tutorial into the the player’s face. I also did not know 2D and 3D could work so well together. And also, the most important part of the game, which I think you did very well, was the character controls. It was fun just running and jumping with the character.

The only thing that I think could be improved upon is a better visual of where the scraps and fuel are located. I mean, since they don’t reflect light the same way a 3D cubes does, it is difficult to accurately pin point where they are. The scraps with shadow on the ground made it at lot easier, and I know you can’t really have shadow on the scraps when they are floating in space, so it is difficult to improve. I also think it would be nice to start the jetpack by holding down the button from the first jump, without having to press a second time.

I really liked this game, five stars on everything from me. Good job!

It looks beautiful, it plays really good, it's sheer awesomeness. Great fun to play. Lovely dialogs with the other spacemen out there, had me laughing a lot. It's brilliant, congratulations on this work.

This was a ton of fun to play! Very snappy controls and solid mechanics. I enjoyed the progression system, it was a good utilization of level space.
