Great game! The visuals are really pretty and the story, albeit simple, is very nice. Kudos to you!

Developer

thank you very much!

Amazing, you managed to create an 8-direction movement animation within 48 hrs and plus all the visuals! The atmosphere you create in this game is stunning!

thank you very much!

I love the art style!  The attention to detail is great! Little things like the grass parting when you walk on it and the leaves that blow in the breeze add up to make the game feel polished!

Developer

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!

I really liked the story! The dialogues could be improved, but the story is pretty nice for a small game.

Well Done!

Really great idea, the visuals are stunning. This game kinda reminded me of Undertale, which is really good. Incredible job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much, i love undertale, i'm glad you liked it!

i was really impressed by the game's presentation! gamemaker is a great engine but it's really tough to get it to play nice with 3D, so well done! i do thing the theme fits kinda loosely, but still: this was a really ambitious project for a jam game!

Developer

Thank you!

This game looks absolutely amazing. At first I thought the camera rotation was a bit of a silly feature, but I was proved very wrong --- you made an incredible looking game in such a short time!

Unlike the visuals, I felt like the gameplay was a bit shallow. The puzzles didn't lead the player to make any interesting choices and the story was short (but it is fantastic to see a full story developed in only 48 hours). Despite some of these flaws, and in recognition of the crazy amount you achieved in such a short time, I really enjoyed playing this game. Great job!

Edit: I read that somebody else said they would have liked the option for an infite loop of denial. Personally, when the game ended and the screen went black, I hung around for another minute spamming buttons just to see if I could take control of my destiny back :D . I think this is a true sign of how well you captivated the players :)

Developer

Thank you very much, the time was short so I did what I managed to do, i'm glad you liked it!

Gorgeous game, what techniques did you use to achieve to get this look? Other than story didn't seem like there was to much going on mechanically. I imagine if you had more time you would have liked to do more puzzles. My main critique is to not reset the camera when changing rooms.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! the main technique is called sprite stacking, the time was short so I did what I managed to do. i'm glad you liked it!

Submitted

yeah i was wondering if it was sprite stacking, I was sure though.

Nice work, good use of fake-3d techniques in gamemaker!

Im doing something similar right now in one of my projects, so my only feedback would be to move whatever code you were rotating the camera in to an end step event, so that the objects dont tilt as you rotate, and also maybe add some lerping/acceleration to the camera angle so it feels smoother.

Again, nice job!

Developer

thank you for the advices!

Dannnnnng just finished your game - nice job! It's awesome to see a completed story made within the confines of a Game Jam! It's probably asking too much but I would have loved the option of still being able to walk through that final door and then the game resetting, giving me a chance to stay in an infinite state of denial. Anyway, you should know that as soon as I rotated the camera the first time I audibly said "whoa." I'd play a whole game like this.

Developer

Thank you very much! i'm so glad you liked it! (about the ending, i had to rush it because of the lack of time, i wish i could have made this!)

Submitted

I feel bad even mentioning it because it's a game jam - we were all rushed! So no worries! I sent you a follow so I can see what else you make in the future!

Great work man. Keep it up.

I really enjoyed the game. If i would have to use one word it would probabbly be just pleasing. Love the atmosphere. When I looked at the screenshots I immediately wanted to play. Maybe that's kinda off the mark (hehe mark) but the graphics felt to me like a weird mix of Moonlighter and Samurai Jack :D
About the gameplay I was a little confused at first but got a grasp of it!
Definitely one of the highlights from the games I played so far.

Oh also, you should make your itch page better, I belive you got the skills, but now it's lacking in terms of quality and it is very contrasting with the awesome visuals of the game.

Developer

Thank you very much for the feedback! Tomorrow i'll work on the page, thank you!

A really nice little story, it would be nice to be able to see the puzzle pieces your moving from the levers but that's just nitpicking. Excellent job

thank you for the feedback!

Wow, the art style is lovely and the rotatable camera is just a super nice touch. Well done and congrats! :-)

Developer

thank you!

hi! great game! i really stuggled with the lever puzzle on the left side because i did not realize that there was a lever behind the tree :D. i really love the style and the game had just the right amount of dialogue :D it was a nice story and definetly worth the play :D

thank you very much!

Good job, the narrative and visuals work well. The controls are not so common I guess, with the camera rotation, while the game look very 2D in style. The mix works well anyway.
The puzzles were a bit too basic in my opinion (I solved it without really thinking about it), but I guess it's just an excuse to have the player do something and come back for some dialogs.
Small detail for the visuals, but the stone ground inside the temple look a bit noisy with the camera angle you have when entering it. Perhaps slightly bigger size for the pavement would work better ?
Anyway, well polished for a 48h game, congratulations !

This is a great experience ! The art is really cool and the way you use the theme surprised me a lot. Also i waited in front of the final black screen for a couple of minutes, hammering my keyboard to find the right key to continue the story :(

Really well done !

Developer(+1)

i'm glad you liked it! the ending screen was made to really make the player feel "not in control", i don't want to spoil but you know what i mean hahaha

First of all, incledible presentation, very moody, well done! On the beggining of the playthrough, I was quite impressed with the ambience, however, as I reached the lever puzzles, the camera didn't allow me to see what I was actually doing, so it created a lot of going back and forth to the bridges and levers. Also, loved the simple but effective plot, I just wished the final -spoilery- lines would be delivered through world building elements (maybe checking out the room and discovering for yourself), having the climax delivered through text isn't as powerfull as you could have achieved. Overall, solid submission, awesome project, and very polished, well done!

Developer(+1)

I'm very happy you liked it! unfortunately I had to make the ending quickly due to lack of time, I would have liked to create a better climax. thanks for the feedback!

love the story and the appearance of the game ^^

A bit buggy but can look past that. I like the idea you went for and it's a quirky puzzle game. It's a good effort this.

Developer

thanks for the feedback!
