I could go outside of the map :D , Idea was cool, feels dark and unique, O yeaah
Thank you for playing! going outside of the map was actually part of the game :D
good game, I had to change my keyboard settings to WASD which was quite annoying at first, so maybe an option tab to change the keyboard settings would be needed
Thank you for playing and your feedback! Will keep that in mind!
Pretty fun game!! I found a pretty useful bug: the character can walk outside the map and go around to win :P
Thank you for playing! it's actually part of the game, going with the theme of messing with winning/losing conditions. So it's the only way to get the lowest score and win. Next time I'll do a better job at letting the player know that they are doing the right thing by stepping out
I really like the art and animations, good job!
Check out my game if you want :)
Thank you for playing!
this was a fun little game! I enjoyed it. great first try for your first game jam! glad you didn't back out
The art is so awesome. The boxy character is so loveable and I like how upon retry there's this inception like zoom out into the same room. The music is cool and complements the spacey background, and the voice was hilarious.
My best score was a two, but I'm sure I can get a one.
Thank you for playing and feedback! it means a lot!
The lowest score you can get is 2 I think, unless there's a bug :D
cool game, love the art, some kind of tutorial or more in-depth explanation would be nice though.
Great job overall!
Thank you for playing and the kind words!
Congrats on sticking it through. Walking on the grid felt really smooth, I liked it. It was also cool when you died and the camera zoomed out to a larger play space. It seemed like we were supposed to walk outside the box but then the camera did not move with it so it was hard to see where to go as you got to the end.
Thank you for playing and the feedback! the walking outside was just so you can go around the box and get to the winning squares :)
interesting Idea but I could walk outside and win every time :D was that intentional? congrats on finishing!
Thank you for playing! yes it was intentional :D
I like the concept, and the recursive death animation is really cool! I didn't quite understand if it was randomly generated every time or if I was supposed to memorize the pattern. Good job crankin this out in 2 days though!
Thank you for playing! so you get 2 chances per map, and after you die it resets in random ways
I did not understand a lot but I had fun walking in space XD
Thank you for playing! next time I'll make sure to make a better tutorial :D
With the explosions I had a kind of bomberman feeling :)
But for a first game it was not bad at all. Nice 3d graphics. Nice explosions.
The cheat to walk outside I found very quick :D
Nice entry and keep up this good work!
Thank you for playing and your kind words!
Hey nice Tutorial :D. There seems to be a Bug (masy be it is not ^^) if you exploded a green cube, you can walk over that on even if it is no longer there, is this intenional ;-)?
you can walk on the air :D
(out of bounds)
Yeah, the tutorial was 90% of the budget.
It is intentional, that's just my version of an extreme cayote time. If you wait there long enough you'll fall
Props for making everything from scratch! Especially the animated character.
I found the game a bit confusing, but considering the aesthetic, maybe that was deliberate? It all feels pretty surreal.
Hopefully I'll see you in more jams in future!
Thanks for playing and your kind words!
Great game, simple yet pleasing visuals and that some good chilled music ya made!
Ohh yeahhhh!
Thank you for playing! oh yeaaa
That is a good game for a first one. I walk on the edge to get to the crown without arm and was thinking it's a bug. But it seems to be a feature. It would had been great to have multiple ways to "cheat". Overall good work.
Thank you for playing and the feedback!
Absolutely love that zoom out effect, but was very baffed by what was going on for a while. Played a bit of it last night (when I was half asleep) and had a dream where I blew up a planet lol :P
Thank you! this made my day :D
the lower score the better hmmmm ...
let me go out side and loop around to that crwon and win with 0 score :)
i was trying to get as high score as i can i saw thats harder than get 0 score....
However it's a very good game in my opinion as it is your first game ... this jam was my second try in my first one i did so badly and i focused on the design more,
and what let me continue is one thing positive comments from people that they knew it's my first game.
so i think you did good job here and thank you for not giving up, it's good concept of a game and i'm 100% sure that you struggled a lot and learnt a lot.
Thank you for playing and your encouraging words! means a lot!
Interesting game here. Though there is a lot of randomness involved (no skill at all) maybe some enjoy that idk. Btw there are a lotta bugs, you can win instead of losing somehow and you can go outside the level and skip all random bombs. The game would have been better have it not been randomised, so that the player can eventually clear the stage no matter what. And then you could have made more handcrafted levels instead of random gen every time, which makes it almost impossible to win. But the game was relatively nice and I the sounds were decent too. OHHH YEAHHH
Thank you for playing and the super feedback!
I think you touched on an important topic here which is the game should let the player feel like they are mastering some aspect of the game. In its current state, there is no skill involved so you don't get that satisfaction of clearing a level. But I think I could keep it random and still introduce some skill-based navigation around the grid.
To keep with the theme of messing with win/lose conditions, the "walking outside of the map" is actually part of the game. I wanted to turn an action that leads to a game over in most games (e.g. falling off the edge) to be a way to actually win the game with the highest score. If you stay out there for too long you also die. I should find a way to let the user understand that they're not breaking the game when they walk out, either with a prompt or with platforms spawning under them.
the double win/lose screen is definitely a bug though :D
lool. The bug occures when I was losing, I somehow got the winning SFX and this abomination of cards.
The camera and the controls felt weird, and the game heavily relies on trial and error, but other than that the game is quite fun, especially for your first game jam, and maybe you're first game too!! I hope you'll continue your gamedev journey!! (^u^)
Thank you for playing and your kind words. Next time I'll definitely spend more time on the controls and change the general core gameloop to be less random.
