Definitely a faster pace is needed in the game, the crossbow should've really had a higher fire-rate to really trade off its hefty price, so that change is coming after the jam.
Thank you for playing!
You know, I never thought a mishmash of a billion different styles would ever work on a game and still look good and fun.
Well, it's safe to say that I was proven wrong today.
Hollllyyy what an amazing game, from characters to the shop progression to the diverse enemies and clever tutorial, really shows how much care went into this.
Seriously good job, 5/5
Thank you for your feedback!
I 100% agree on the flying enemies, one of the things I wanted to add was flying enemies, it was to make spikes more independent and less powerful, and give a threat that walls can't protect from, but that required new traps to be added as well which I couldn't do in time. Maybe in the future though, who knows? ;)
Dynamic music sounds like a great idea! I'll definitely add it to the list!
Pretty cool arcady game!
I like that the tower attacks with me and doesn't just stay idle for me to defend, comes clutch in times!
Although I find the camera movement a bit nauseating as it moves in a very "unpredictable" way…
Also, I wished if there were some more upgrades to add a bit more depth to the game.
And one last thing, the leaderboard doesn't seem to be working for me, maybe it's because I'm using Firefox?
Never mind that, after reloading the page the leaderboard showed up (I'm fifth!)
Well done guys!
Thank you for playing!
The main problem with the pricing is the fact that it solely depends on your performance, I see it as a cursed game design problem, since waves are not random, the amount of money you get is fixed, which means that if for example, a wall you built breaks, you will probably rebuild it, but for another player it doesn't, so they have more money to invest into more expensive utility. This issue is clearer due to the fact that the game doesn't have that many waves, but an expanded version would probably have a smaller issue with the economy from this problem.
But still, I'm glad that you enjoyed the game and didn't face such issue :D
Thank you so much for playing (even before the page having a cover image :O )!
Really glad you liked the game! Sadly I only worked for 5 days, and it's my first game using Godot engine, so I didn't have time to nail down the power balance very well, that's why the game is a bit short and unbalanced (I balanced everything 30 minutes before the deadline😅)
Nonetheless, thank you for playing!
For a first game, this is honestly really good! The art is phenomenal, I loved how grand it feels when planting the magic seed, and aside from all the problems with physics and bugs (I had those same problems happen to me when I started T-T) this is a great game!
Great job! Can't wait to see what else you will make, and good luck on your game dev journey!
I like this game a lot! There are a lot of plant types, upgrades and enemies! It's a very good tower defense experience! I loved how the enemies progressively got harder and more mechanics got introduced, this game has a well-built progression system! Heck, even enemies started to come from the sides to the tree, completely ignoring the pre-existing pathways (I'm not sure if this was a bug or not, but I love either way!).
The only thing that I got me confused a bit was how the new lanes just popped up from nowhere, I didn't realize instantly that they appeared and played some rounds without realizing that.
Also, some of the plants felt... pointless? Like the daisy flower that shoots in 5 directions, I don't think there is any place where this can be useful, at least on the map you made.
Oh, and one final things, when planting the plants, they move get pushed around a little bit for some reason, is it because they are planted on a grid? It just felt awkward to me…
But other than that, this game is really fun! Great job!
Very cool short game, although a bit repetitive, it was a nice experience.
A couple of things I noticed in the game were:
Overall, very nice game, simple concept and execution for a short jam.
Well done!
This is a very nice game with a very nice concept, the low poly style is very good, I love how the enemies break into parts when they die, it makes it so satisfying to defeat them! I also love the animations (they're so cleeeean).
Although I found a couple of bugs/issues during my gameplay, so I will list them here:
an Image of the shadows and capsule
an Image of the purple gem/coin
Overall, this game is an enjoyable cute little game, although there are some small issues (I know I may have listed a lot of things, but it's very understandable with the time constraint), it's still a fun game!
Great job, and good luck with your game dev journey!
When I played your game this morning I knew I was going to spend 30 minutes writing a review XD. Anyhow, I'm very happy you enjoyed the review, please don't feel pressured to finish the game if you don't want to, I would love to see a complete version but it is okay if you don't want to do it .😅
And I would love it if you can drop me the Translation system, I'm @venwin0 in discord. (Say what, I can give you a day-night system that I wrote, like a proper trade XD)
Thank you again for making this awesome game! Have a amazing day, and early Ramadan Mubarak to you.
