Rick and Grant played your game for a little bit on stream, but I wish they'd spent a little more time with it, they barely scratched the surface. I've done one highlights video so far and yours is going to be in the next one, looking forward to playing it through again to record the footage
I look forward to watching your video! I saw the first one, were you able to finish Tutorial? I spent a ton of time trying but the final phase was too much for me.
Nice! Glad you caught the first one. And yep! Took me a while to finish it though. That last phase is really tough so I tried to keep patient and exploit the Last Stand mechanic and eventually somehow made it through although I could hardly believe I'd beaten it. Ended up putting the full run on my channel. Watching the stream with Rick and Grant made me realize I'll probably end up making more than just three highlights videos, there are some really cool looking games in the game jam I haven't gotten to sink my teeth into yet. Hope you're having a good one!
Ah, great job! Sticking to the bottom level and firing up seems like the way to do it. I usually tried climbing to the top, which is way too difficult in the final phase. For me, anyway. :)
Every game that Rick and Grant played made me want to try them out, they jumped around so quickly (or got trapped in a single room...)
Yeah I don't know if it's possible if you don't stick to the bottom for the final phase unless you're really good at knowing when to drop down to the platform below which my caveman brain wasn't very good at. Yeah! Lots of interesting stuff, including a few of the games I'm putting in the highlights which made me happy, although I'd have liked to see them play a little longer (and not get stuck) on some of them. I'll probably use that stream as a jumping point for trying more games after I finish these first three highlights videos
Part 2 is out and your game is in it. I feel like I didn't really cover the enemy attack time as well as I could have, anyway, just wanted to say I've really been enjoying the updates you've made to it since I first played, it's made a great game even greater. Have a good one!
Thank you so much! Really! I can't express how much I appreciate it, but I did make my first ever youtube comment on your video.
I'm really happy I'm able to make talented devs like you happy with these highlight videos. I want people who make cool games to keep making cool games so there are more cool games in the world for people to play and for other people to check those games out and have a good time. Thanks for the first YouTube comment, I'm honored! I think that comments on YouTube can be absolutely vile but they can also be a tool for good and positivity (occasionally), and are useful for getting raw, unfiltered feedback since people tend to express their mind without thinking too hard there. Thanks for continuing to update this game and all the hard work you put into it, it really is a great game and I keep wanting to go back to it even though I have some work I have to focus on right now. Its gameplay really is both therapeutic and challenging, just talking about it gets me jonesing for another playthrough. It's so good. Thanks again and keep up the good work!
You know, I never thought a mishmash of a billion different styles would ever work on a game and still look good and fun.
Well, it's safe to say that I was proven wrong today.
Hollllyyy what an amazing game, from characters to the shop progression to the diverse enemies and clever tutorial, really shows how much care went into this.
Seriously good job, 5/5
Thank you for playing and the kind words! I'm glad the mishmash of styles worked out well in your eyes. :)
I checked closer and did not rate this game at all for some reason. Playing it again, I really enjoyed the unique manual and auto attack, being able to control the speed of time, and other details that were unique and fun. Really great job on the game, I liked it a lot, and I may try to rate it this time. Great job!
Haha, I've definitely had times where I've written a review and was ready to move on to the next game, only to scroll up and see I hadn't submitted an actual score yet.
Very nice game! I loved the animation at the start, followed up by a interactive tutorial, props to you for that!
The game is fun to play and it feels well put together. I usually don't like automatic games due to merely a matter of personal preference (i like to control what i do in a game and play it my way) but you thought about that too and put a manual mode.
Good job, cheers :D
Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad you liked the tutorial, I wasn't sure how well that would go over.
I definitely also prefer games where the player has control, but I like the general incremental nature of auto-battlers. I wasn't sure if I was making a 'best of both worlds' with the manual option or the 'worst of both.' It probably depends on the player. :)
Yeah, i'd say that as long as speeds can be managed both manually and automatic, it's just a matter of personal preference. But if in example if you made it quicker and quicker over time to the point where you need to rely on the automatic, that could feel punishing to the player who don't want to rely on the automatic part.
Thank you for the reply! :)
"What you need is capitalism!!! hahaha I need that one on a t-shirt XD
Very well done game, super fun, I loved the heroes ♥
One of the most complete games I have found so far, very polished for a game jam, Congrats on the great job!! :)
Thank you very much for playing! I'm glad you found it fun and liked the heroes. :D
Loved this! Well done
Thank you for playing, I'm glad you liked it!
This is addictive as hell, and it is unbelievable that you did this in little over a week... not just the mechanics, but the BALANCING! Incredible. Do you have a dev log or anything where you say how you went about balancing all this so well in such a short time? It would make a very interesting read!
Thank you for playing! If I'm honest, the fact that it feels balanced is more of a happy accident than careful thought on my part. I threw in numbers for enemy stats and weapon stats and tested those until it was possible to win more than lose. :)
that's definitely a way to do it, better than my analysis paralysis for anything to do with numbers in games!

You know, I never really tried auto-battlers before. If they're all this good, I'm down. Ridiculously polished and well-tuned game. Had a lot of fun with this one, well done. I like the little touches like including enemies from some of the gamedev tutorial courses and the cute aesthetic of the party. I died a lot in the beginning, but once I started using Manual, my fluffy crew and I prevailed to the end. Thanks for sharing, great game!
Thank you very much for playing! It's great to hear that using the Manual mode helped make the difference between victory and defeat. :)
I'm planning on making a short highlights video on YouTube about some of the games I found really compelling from the game jam. Is it okay if I include this one in it?
Cute fun. What you need is CAPITALISM made me Laugh Out Loud. Are our heroes based on real life cats?
Thank you for playing! I'm glad it got a laugh! Pistachio is named after a parrot plushie, the rest of the heroes are originals. :)
As someone who likes idle games on phone. this is impressive that this was made for a game jam !
I kept playing until I reached 3 million in money or something like that, but at one point upgrading all my weapons tends to be a bit long with all this money lol
Amazing submission, one of the most polished IMO, great game !
Thank you so much for playing and the kind words! I'm glad it hooked you enough to get such an impressive amount of money! :)
Wow. Just wow. What can I say? I love turn based games, idle games, fantasy games and humor. The BGM fitts like a glove in the game. Nice job.
Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad it appealed to a lot of things you enjoy! :D
Hello! 👋
🎮 Overall: This game had a quirky charm and a well-rounded experience, showing a lot of polish and attention to detail.
😄 Fun: The gameplay was engaging and enjoyable, with a lot of humor that kept it interesting.
🛴 Theme: The theme interpretation was unique and added an interesting twist to the gameplay.
🎨 Aesthetics: While the art was basic, it was effective, especially considering it was a solo dev project.
🎶 Music: More music would enhance the experience, but the existing sound design was well done and fit the game's style.
🔊 Sound: The sound effects were excellent, adding a lot to the overall immersion and gameplay.
⚙️ Mechanics: The mechanics were solid, though some improvements like auto-upgrades for weapons would enhance the experience. The game was balanced and smooth overall.
📖 Story: The story elements were cute and silly, adding a nice touch to the game without overwhelming it.
Great job on the submission! 👏
Thank you very much for playing, and the point by point review!
I like the game alot! Its really quirky and the humour is good. I think more music would be nice but its so difficult in the timeframe. I had alot of fun.
Thank you for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed the quirkiness. :D
This is probably the most time I have ever spent in a gam jam game, and it was really good all the way through! well done!
only thing I would add is to let you auto upgrade the weapons from the list -- I lost focus for a second and undid all the upgrades to one of my main weapons :'( - but excellent game and well implemented
Thank you for playing and for the feedback! Auto-upgrades is definitely a good idea. And, as well, a prompt for switching weapons; that's for sure a bad feeling when it happens accidentally.
I don't know what I should say... I played over 1 hour and this information should explain itself :) Well done!
Thank you very much for playing! :D
How I start my review… A good take on jRPG genre, I like the humor in the tutorial and the in game story. Oh, and there’s a cat as protagonist, The ‘auto’ mode is there for the casual players who want to focus on the upgrade strategy (CAPITALISM). The assets for graphics and sounds and music go very well together with the gameplay. The mechanics is also very good. A very solid entry! Congrats and Keep Going!
Edit: Just to know, I played for almost one hour and this is my party, I’m still slowly buying upgrades and that can be a thing to be QoL upgraded in later versions of the game. Made many mistakes and give wrong weapons to some characters, losing all the upgrade progress, lol!
Thank you so much for playing and the indepth response!
After edit response!
Looking good! I definitely need to fix the shop for an auto-upgrade option. I have some plans to rework how upgrades function before they hit the Legendary trait, but either way I need to make big improvements to shopping. :)
Wow! The experience was super fleshed out. I was amazed with the tutorial and how much you were able to accomplish in such a short time. I didn't notice any bugs or come across any issues. The story was cute and silly and you made everything super clear in a "learn-as-you-play" style tutorial that I really like. Is this type of game called an auto battler? I'd be interested to hear what you were inspirations were for this game!
Thank you for playing and for the kind words! When the combat is in Auto mode (which is mainly how I tested it) I would say it's an auto battler. It's not as idle-friendly as some of them, since the player needs to give some input between battles by using the shop (or at least exiting the shop) and of course there's manual controls (such as they are) for those who want more of a hands on experience. :)
My main inspirations were Super Auto Pets (and games similar to that) for the shop. The classic Final Fantasy games from the Super Nintendo era for the setting and battle style. And then a lot of little things here and there that are difficult to directly attribute. Being able to choose the character's targets while the game is paused, for example, is similar to the weapon aiming in FTL, but that's hardly the only game with such a feature.
It's fun to play and has a great progression system
Thank you for playing! I'm glad you liked the progression system and found it fun. :D
Excellent game. Very polished in all areas and I love the playable characters, especially Pistachio.
The only feature that would be nice to have is the option to auto-upgrade your weapons if you have the cash when you reroll. It just takes a long time when you get 100000+ gold to go over each item each time you reroll.
Thank you so much for playing and the feedback! An auto-upgrade option would have been a really good addition if I'd thought of it. :)
