Hello! 馃憢
馃幃 Overall: This game gave me Dead Space vibes, with an engaging and atmospheric experience.
馃槃 Fun: The gameplay was fun and engaging, loved the upgrade system.
馃洿 Theme: The theme wasn't immediately clear, but it seemed to follow a last survivor type of implementation.
馃帹 Aesthetics: The visuals were well done, adding to the eerie atmosphere.
馃幎 Music: The music was a bit repetitive and arcady, which detracted slightly from the atmospheric vibe.
馃攰 Sound: The sounds were fine and complemented the overall experience.
鈿欙笍 Mechanics: The mechanics were solid, with the AI crawling on walls being a neat touch. It would be cool if they could climb on boxes as well and other objects as well while chasing you. The attack animations could use some work but this was overall a well done approach for the time frame.
馃摉 Story: I did not see much story elements implemented, but that's hard to do in such a short time especially when making a 3D game for a game jam.
Great job on the submission! 馃憦
Very FUN and UNIQUE idea on this game! AWESOME WORK!!! GREAT ART!!! NICE MECHANICS!!! This was a fun challenging game. Loved it.
I'm not a big fan of the first-person shooter genre, but I found the game very polished and visually impressive for a game jam entry. I couldn't finish the game because it took a lot of effort to kill the spiders—maybe I was a bit impatient. I think the guns could be buffed a bit, and the cursor color could be changed to something brighter, as black is sometimes hard to see. I also really like the splash art of the cover image. Good job!

The spiders are an evil menace and must be stopped! I tried making them a little easier to kill actually during playtesting, but it just made the whole game feel like a lame pushover, so I felt I had to side on the somewhat more difficult side this time. Just be careful to keep your distance from the little buggers and you can make it, I'm sure of it!
There was talk of swapping out the reticle, but it never happened. Maybe we'll patch it in after ratings, thanks for your feedback.
Wow this was such an impressive and fun game! Visuals were awesome and conveyed the aesthetic effectively, gameplay felt great and easy to understand within the first few moments of playing, music and sound FX were nirvana to my eardrums. I saw in the game page that your team handcrafted all the assets which is incredible! I really think all that hard work was worth it in creating an original looking and sounding game.
Also I love how you wrote the "Crew" page on the game page introducing the team members and what they worked on. That was really cool.
Excellent game!
We were very close to using some assets to flesh out the interior areas but before I could around to implementing them, our very talented 3D modeler had already assembled a full-on interior asset pack for the game! Well, naturally I was more inclined to stick to that. And that Emily managed to design, sculpt, rig, UV-unwrap, texture, weight-paint and animate not one but THREE different enemies within the timeframe continues to astound me. Very proud of this team :) Thanks for stopping by our page and playing our game.
This was really impressive! It takes guts to tackle a full on 3D FPS in the span of 10 days and this was really well executed. Action was face paced, I immediately had fun running around the spaceship and blasting aliens. Amazing how many cool animations were in the game too!
My one piece of feedback is that I wish there was just a bit more visual/audio confirmation for when you shoot the enemies and they are taking damage but they don't die. The death confirmation is really good! The blood and the animation are excellent! I just found myself thinking that I was whiffing all my shots and I wish there was some sort of confirmation that I was hitting my target.
Overall an amazing entry. Great work!
I was a bit nervous when the team said they were all into doing a 3D FPS with Roguelike elements, but once we nixxed the idea of procedural level generation, the scope of the work became visible and seemed just baaarely manageable. I'm going to work on improving the hit feedback for sure, thanks for the feedback
Very neat! I saw animations from this in the screenshot section and made a note to visit it later. (Which was just now!)
I don't necessarily know what makes a good first person shooter game, so take everything I say with a grain of salt. :)
First, you managed to pack a lot in for a ten day jam, so great job on that! There's enemy variety and gun variety and a large enough level which even had some twisting corridors. I liked being able to upgrade stats as well as my arsenal by purchasing things from the terminals. I was also impressed with the enemies crawling along the walls, though they did have difficulty attacking me if I stood on a pile of crates.
The guns felt different enough to use, but in terms of strength I'm only assuming that the later ones do more damage than the starting pistol. Enemies feel pretty tanky no matter what I'm shooting them with, taking several attacks to defeat even the basic creatures. I found myself needing to run away and jump around constantly to prevent myself from being overwhelmed, but that may well have been the intended design. :) It's also not always evident that enemies are getting damaged at all, sometimes (rarely) I'd see a white flash and blood splatters were only noticeable when dangerously close.
The music is nice and fits the game well. It's a bit short and, thus, noticeably repetitive, but most of the time it does well in the background when there's action to concentrate on. Likewise the sound effects are well suited, though a bit muted compared to the music.
Other than that... one time I took damage from enemies who were behind a closed door when I walked up to open it. I liked the Venus fly trap enemies but, since they're stationary, they were easy to deal with. Even in the boss battle their presence didn't feel particularly threatening. While I was fighting the boss I got low on health and thought I could sneakily go back to a terminal for health, but there were tons of bugs swarming in from everywhere which was a nice way to prevent that sort of strategy. :)
Yoooo cool game! You guys should expend on it. The boss level did feel a bit tedious and long.
A fully functional 3D FPS for a gamejam.. wow.
It played really well! The atmosphere and pacing was amazing. The sense of dread when you don't see the spiders, but hear them chittering around you... chills.
Frantic shooting action, and good array of weapons! No bugs encountered, smooth gameplay! Only wishlist would be for a minimap, as I found myself lost in the heat of battle (or rather retreat, from the spiders haha).
Incredible effort for a gamejam in 10days. Well Done!
"The atmosphere and pacing was amazing. The sense of dread when you don't see the spiders, but hear them chittering around you... chills."
Thank you! I really wanted to cultivate that exact experience when I was building out the level, so glad to hear that you felt it. Very gratifying for me. I'm sure our Sound Designer will be pleased to hear it too :)
Really good submission.
I loved to blast those horrors! Some feedback to the used that he has wounded an enemy would have be nice (like SFX and / or VFX).
Cool progress mechanism too!
Overall I am very impressed. Nice little Half Life type game. Controls and movement felt very smooth.
Progress was also well thought off. Spiders aliens was a bit difficult to kill but not the difficult.
Good job.
Impressive for a game jam. Nicely done. The guns felt a little underpowered, a little zap spark thing, maybe tweak it. I glitched a few times while moving and shooting, not sure if I just lagged or if I bumped into stuffs. The spiders crawling down the walls was nice. Didnt realize the bug splatter was something I needed to pick up for money until later on in the game, lol
I had so much fun teaching these spiders how to wall-crawl, one of the best segments of development for me here. For the guns, well, pistol is 4 shots to kill, disintegrator is 3 to kill, and the rifle is 2 to kill, so I dunno, damage-wise I do think it is balanced actually. Maybe it's a weapon variation thing, or VFX. I'm pondering it for sure. Thanks for your comment.
This game looks great, but I found the mouse to lack sensitivity, and I couldn't find a way to open a menu to change it, I dunno if such options exist in the game, and it's ok if they don't, it's a jam after all. However, I'm not sure what the objective of the game was other than just kill monsters and stuff, and I felt the controls, especially shooting were a bit clunky.
But again, for a game jam project this is super impressive.
There is a lot to like here, but I want to focus on the thing I didn't like.
Please make the trigger colliders for the doors larger so you don't have to get so close to them, or even better remove the need to hit E at all for doors that will open. I think that would be a significant improvement to the fun.
But overall I can see the huge amount of work done, very cool.
Excellent work, wow!! I'm impressed you got wall-climbing AI with good path tracking and collision. This is honestly impressively polished for a game jam. The music is top-notch, hell yeah. I also like your gracious write-up of the team on the game page :)
It's probably just me, but when I first started, I had no idea how to shoot the spiders without a gun. I saw the health thing and that costed money, I saw the armor and that costed money, and then I saw the large yellow container with the gun and simply ignored it assuming it also costed money, and ran around confused for a while. I would have either started the player off with with the basic gun or had that be the first thing they see instead of the health thing. But like I said, probably just me, take it with a grain of salt. Once I realized my mistake, the game made a lot more sense lol.
Anyway, super impressive job with all the assets, the 3D models are great, as is the programming! Well done!!
