Fun game! love the humor!

Developer

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed the humor! :D

Submitted(+1)

Was meant to just test it out but ended up playing far too long :D I think I liked the manual mode more, especially on high speed, frantically figure out which targets to prioritize. This got a bit too hard when there were more than 3 characters so I just set it on auto because that did the job just as well. Maybe having keybinds to target with different characters on the target you are hovering over could allow for a fast manual mode even with many characters?

Developer (2 edits)

Thank you for playing, even if it was for too long! :D I really appreciate the feedback!
I had code written for characters to be selected by the 1-5 keys, but I couldn't quite get it to work out well when I first implemented it, and then ran out of time to revisit it. I think an ideal method would be that, plus a key to select all the characters at once, and then six more keys for targeting specific enemies. I'll have to think about it some more and see if I can work it out.

Great job with the game. I like the silly humor. I thought the difficulty slope was very good.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing, and for enjoying my silly humor! :D I'm glad to know the difficulty increased at a good pace, I was throwing a lot of numbers around as the seconds before the deadline ticked away.

Submitted

That's exactly what I did. I don't think  I got my numbers quite right, but I also left a lot of features on the cutting room floor.

Oh yes, an auto-battler where you can manually control each unit, equip two weapons each, upgrades and multiple weapons. A good depth of strategy in there to enjoy with stats and some clear effort went into the system.

Developer

Thank you for playing! I've had some people comment they didn't know each unit can hold two weapons so I'm glad you realized that!

Wow really well done. The start is very strong with it’s humor and then it evolves as time progressed, which makes you want to keep playing it.

I can only nitpick, like the fact that the manual/auto button feels unclear about which state it’s in. Also, buying can become a bit of a pain at some point. But again, just nitpicking.

EDIT: Yep, buying just takes forever at some point lol Is there an ending? If not, then I might want to give up at this point.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! Sadly I wasn't able to put in an ending for this, I had a final boss fight planned, but ran out of time... You make a good point about the auto and manual toggle, I should definitely make it clearer which mode is currently active. Maybe a more obvious On/Off symbol would work.

I enjoyed it, relaxing gameplay to be honest. The shop system is great!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the shop, I think there are a lot of ways I can improve it once the review period is over. :)

I really like the aesthetics of the game! I'm surprised at how easily addictive it becomes.

Developer

Thank you! It's good to hear you found it addictive, I spent a lot of time on the systems and I wasn't sure how fun the game itself would turn out to be.

Submitted(+2)

That was fun! I love me some cats and a bird and... a fox? :P
I got tricked by the good weapons... hoped for a good roll and got diced... :P

Could you play and rate my game too, please? :D

Developer

Thank you for playing! Sorry about the bad roll! :o

I'll definitely play, rate and comment on your game as well!

As a massive jrpg (esp. Final Fantasy) fan, I really appreciate your game. I really love your sense of humor and the battle system. I'm always interested in seeing how people can expand upon / play around with turn based battle systems. Loved it, great job!

Developer

Thank you so much! FF was definitely my inspiration, with a bit of Super Auto-Pets thrown in.

This is super impressive. I was a little uncertain at first, but it quickly grew on me and became very addicting! Also humorous, I love it! Awesome job :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! I'm relieved to hear that it won you over after a bit of uncertainty. :)

I love this game's charm and personality. It really elevated the game to another level. I played it for a really long time.

Developer

Thank you for playing! It's nice to hear you found it charming enough to stick with it for a while. :)

Really fun game, surprisingly addicting. Played the first couple fights on manual, but once i got better upgrades it was kinda fun to just blast through on auto.   Nice work!

Developer

Thank you for playing, I'm glad it was interesting enough to hold your attention!

When testing I played the same way; manual for the very first fights and then sitting back to watch for the rest. :)

Fun! LOVE the animations in the beginning!

Developer

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the animations! In the past two game jams I always had ideas for similar sequences to put in, to tell a story of some sort, and ran out of time before I could create them. Finally this year I was able to get them done in time. :)

Submitted(+1)

I'm glad you got it done in time! It really brought the game to a whole new level of polish. I will keep that in mind for next game jam. I have always focused on mechanics or level design, but that story element really makes a difference. Thanks for the inspiration!

Damn it Cashew, pull your weight!!
This game is oddly addictive. I'll just play for a few minutes, you think. Then two hours later you're feverishly trying to upgrade your legendary to +100 and well, anyway, play it.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for always being my second biggest fan, after Mell.

Thank you for playing! I'd love to add a lot more to it once the review period is over. So much was cut for time...
