The game is fun and good looking, I really enjoyed it!

Nice feeling but quite challenging!

Developer

Thanks for playing and reviewing! I agree it's too challenging, should have made it easier so players can get carried away.

The game features engaging mechanics and beautiful artwork, providing a truly unique experience. It's enjoyable and well-executed, making for a fun and memorable play. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing and reviewing ! You make it sound better than it is but I'll take it ! :D

Oh I get it! "Spare Me" :D
This didn't STRIKE me as an idea, but seeing how many games interpreted the theme for bowling really SPLIT my sides!

Okay enough of that. Fun game. I found the delay between rounds frustratingly slow, and just wanted to get back at dodging. Who are these rowdy teenagers throwing all these balls at once?? I could also have done with smoother movement forwards and backwards.

The bowling alley feel via sound effects was spot on, and the "Nice Spare" losing sound was just so irritating I wanted to show them who's a nice spare :D

Good job!

Developer

Thank you for playing! I see that a lot of people didn't enjoy movement forward or backward, but to me it felt fine (maybe because I came up with it and tested the game so many times :D), for the future I'll pay even more attention to the movement :)

The mechanics of dodging the oncoming balls worked well and I like the details you had in there - overall nice job on the game!

Submitted

Fun game! Took me a while to realize you could leave the back row :/
Also excellent job with the lighting!

Developer

Thank you for playing, I agree that I could have made it more clear on how to move to save some time for players.

Submitted

Took a couple of rounds before I knew what I was doing and after that it was a lot of fun dodging the balls.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I wanted to make a tutorial, but I didn't have any time left.

I felt like the controls were a little awkward with diagonals like some of the other comments. Also, it was a little weird seeing the score at the end of a run by itself say high score when it resets every time. Fun take on the theme and I liked the perspective. I got to like 28 seconds survived before dying.

Developer

Thanks for playing! To me the diagonal movement didn't seem that bad, but maybe that's because I played the game a lot of times :D And about the score, I forgot to add that logic, it was a big blunder from my end, I even forgot to add a condition when time runs out... :D

Submitted

Interesting take on the theme! Although there were a few bowling pin games, I like the 3d perspective for this one.

The transitions between each try was also very cool!

My only comment would be, it was slightly difficult to move diagonally, and the risk of getting hit by bowling balls is too high. I stuck to dodging the balls laterally. But i had a lot of fun doing so!

Solid entry!

Developer

Thank you for playing and reviewing! I think I made it too difficult as well, so for the next game jams I'll keep that in mind so people can have longer runs than ~30 seconds :D

Hi @HxdDev. I am having some trouble while running the web version of this game. Could you kindly also upload a Windows executable of the game on the submission page, if possible?

Developer(+1)

Hello, I added Windows executable just for you :)

Just tested this and thanks for uploading the windows build version of the game. Really nice graphics and feel, especially those ambient environmental sounds. A great twist on the 9 pin bowling. My highest score was 26 seconds. Simple controls and nicely paced mechanics. I see a lot of potential in this for instance you can add more thematic sets with matching pins , balls and billboards in the arena when the player has survived for a given time like 60 seconds of survival unlocks the Shopping Arena, or 90 seconds of survival unlocks the Arcade arena etc. Nice gameplay that encourages you to comeback and survive for a little longer. Keep up the good work :)

[Note: The web version was giving a runtime error in Chrome version 125.0.6422.142, but is working fine now after clearing the cache and restarting that. In the Firefox  browser its working fine and the windows build version is working fine as well]

I like the game, just i had trouble moving forwarded to get the lights for more time. But evading bowling balls is nice :D

Developer

Thank you for playing and the review! Through these comments I've realized that the movement could have been better, but as I never have done movement like that it was all I could come up with in that time frame.

This is so much fun! I wish I could use the arrows though. The pin animation is very well done too while it moves

Submitted

This is fun. I'm terrible at it... but I could also see myself getting addicted until I perfected it. Good work!

Developer

Thank you! I think  movement in diagonals make it harder to master, but I had no choice otherwise movement wouldn't make sense.

I really liked the light and sound effects. Great ambience overall, I enjoyed it!

Developer

Thank you for playing! For lights I just tried to remember how the bowling alley I go to looks like and tried to copy that vibe.

Submitted

A+!

Great game! Perfect scope for a jam to let you polish the look and feel. The music had a great vibe for a bowling alley, and switching the camera around to the pin's perspective was a great way to "show, rather than tell," what was going on.
Much respect for a job well done.

Developer

Thank you very much! It was my first time working with multiple cameras so I'm happy that it worked out :)

very original idea.  i can see how it could become very addicting!  great job

Developer

Thank you! I hope someone will have 1000 hours in this game someday ! :D

Simple to understand and fun to play! Visuals and sounds were nice. Great work!

Developer

Thank you! For music I just youtubed copyright free bowling background sound and music :D

Submitted

Loved the idea. The visuals looks good and it has a good curve of difficulty. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Out of visuals I'm most proud of the pin movement animation as I had no idea how to animate it :D

Submitted

Great idea! Now I know what it is to be that one pin still standing. When bowling  I'm going to be happy  I don't get that last pin. Thank you!

Developer

Thanks for the nice comment! I think I'll do the same thing when bowling to make myself feel better :D

I like this one and it is enjoyable!!

Good luck
