MATE, THIS IS STRAIGHT UP INCREDIBLE!!!
Incredibly polished, Incredibly balanced too! LOVED the presentation & tutorial for this game! Tons of weapons (loved the name/references for some of them XD). My only feedback is just the UI, sometimes it's not clear/feels a tiny bit clunky (Shop UI in particular) & sometimes I'm still confused whether I'm currently in manual or auto mode.
Other than that, it's an incredibly polished game, got me playing for ages! straight up, INCREDIBLE JOB 🔥
Thank you so much for playing and the feedback! I'm surprised more people haven't commented on the UI, it's not something which comes natural to me and could use lots of improvements.
This is such a cool game. The dialogues were hilarious.
Thank you for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed the dialogue, I had fun with that. :)
That is crazy polished! Juicy and fun and everything. You got quite a few chuckles out of me with those dialogues :P. Although I wish there was more to do in combat rather than just sit back and wait. Maybe some enemies having shields which would have to be broken by clicking on em? something to make it more engaging.
Thank you for playing and for the feedback! There were many things I wanted to add to combat in order to engage the player more, and unfortunately ran out of time to do.
I had a lot of fun with this game! I spent too long just giggling at my little squad of blobs swinging their fancy weapons at the eclectic mix of enemies. The upgrade system is also neat, though I found the process get very tedious once the gold amounts reach the tens of thousands. The music and sounds are really engaging, though; the shop music in particular really puts you in the mood for capitalism. Well done on this game!
Thank you very much for playing! That song felt just perfect for a the shop, when I first heard it. :) The upgrade system for sure needs some work to avoid all the repetitive clicking, thank you for the feedback!
Wow this was amazing. I appreciated the tutorial and all the little details. I don't have anything bad to say. I had to stop myself playing this so I could go to bed, otherwise I would have played it all through the night. I can't believe you made this as a solo dev! 😄
Thank you for playing and the kind words! I did have a lot of help from the vast amount of free resources provided by various artists. :)
I see you had a lot of fun making this one :) combining many art styles is something that many times doesn't work, but here it gets job done. Great game!
Thank you for playing! I've been thinking about making a game like this for a while, so the jam was a good opportunity. I'm glad you found the art styles to mesh well. :)
I actually spent an hour playing the game, it's really well-built, especially the sound design is remarkable
Thank you so much! I'm glad it held your attention for that long!
The amount of time I spent on this... i'm not telling... but heres 5* for fun lol.
When i learnt some weapons could be double-wielded... man.
I can't believe this was made by 1 person in 10 days, you are a beast. From the very starting intro, I thought of FF before the words even unfolded. Completely nailed the theme with the retro music and logo design. Then it became "Rise of Shield Hero" with the portals and the unlikely heros that were summoned. Great humor. The attention to detail is insane. Each hero has an entrance that matched its type (bunny bounces).
An extremely compelling idle battler. Well done good sir!
Thank you very much for playing and the detailed feedback! I wish I'd made it clearer to the player about double-wielding, I'm glad you figured it out.
I'm happy I was able to give all the heroes a different entrance, I had grander plans for some, like the dog chasing the cat around when they first meet. The bunny's definitely turned out closest to what I'd had in mind. :)
the amount of weapons and monsters that keep unlocking is crazy! I literally had to stop myself to go to work on this one. well done.
Thanks so much for taking the time to play it! I was up early in the morning on the final day trying to fit all the weapons in.
Nice turn based mechanics and I thought the whole way you did it was quite interesting, good job on it!
Thank you for playing! I'm glad you found it interesting. :)
You made an engaging blend of creativity, fun and challenge despite the short dev time, the game delivered a complete, memorable and enjoyable experience. Liked the music the most. BUT ENOUGH TALK...LET'S PLAY! :)
Thank you very much for playing! It's good to hear that it comes across as a complete experience, there's so many things that I wanted to add to it and had to cut for time.
Wow, I'm amazed at the scope of what you managed to accomplish! Very fun gameplay and story. Amazing job!!
Thank you very much! I'm glad you found the gameplay fun. :)
Very fun. I felt all powerful. Adorable graphics. Thank you for submitting!
Thank you for playing! I'm glad it gave the appropriate feeling of becoming over powered. :)
I think this game was the one I played the longest, big time! "Wasted" a complete hour in this, since I was having progress and all, thinking about my next upgrade etc. I was fully drawn into it. Started this game before my bed time and went far over it. If I wasn't feeling half a sleep because I am freaking tired I would still be playing. I tried sooo hard to stay awake just to keep playing.
For me the best game yet on this jam!
Thank you!
Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and hopefully it didn't impact your sleep too much. :)
Well done, cute and clever :)
Thank you very much for playing! I'm glad you found it clever. :)
Oh boi this game is really cool!
Thank you for checking it out! :D
Excellent game! Great writing with all of the bits of dialogue that pop up throughout the game! This game has a lot of meat to it and at the same time does all the little things right! really impressive submission. A+
Thank you very much for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed the writing. :)
Great game! I had a lot of fun playing. my favorite parts are the auto feature and the reference to spaceballs in the tutorial -- hilarious. I liked everything put together the way you did too. Fantastic job
Thank you so much for playing! And thank you for catching that reference, too. :D
Very polished game, interesting mechanics, funny script and characterful. I don't usually play these types of games but it managed to hold my interest, it's good work!
Thank you for playing! I'm glad it seemed polished to you, and that it could hold your interest. :)
This was a really good game! I had a lot of fun and found it hard to stop. I’m generally not a big fan of auto battlers, but I think you found a good balance here of involvement and variety that made it more engaging. I think maybe there are too many different weapons, because it can be hard sometimes to find upgrades, and swapping weapons generally doesn’t seem like a good move once they’ve been upgraded since the weapons seem a bit similar, so I think possibly reducing the number and making them more distinct could be good. It was also a bit unclear which weapons were main hand and which were off hand, I only discovered this by accident later in my playthrough.
Thank you so much for playing and the really great feedback! I'm glad to hear that you found it more engaging than some auto battlers, I wanted to give the player as much agency as possible without forcing them to interact more than they wanted to.
You're absolutely right about the weapons, I've come up with what I hope is a better system for the future and also cut down a bit on having too many unwanted results when rerolling the shop. Making each weapon more distinct is also a good idea for me to concentrate on, ideally players should be able to tell at a glance whether something in the shop is the same as what they've equipped or not, just from the shape.
I definitely blanked on explaining that main hand and off hand weapons were a thing. (I nearly blanked on even mentioning the upgrade system.)
No worries, it’s so easy to overlook things in a jam, and it still turned out really well!
