yup this a very beautiful game for a jam. I managed wave 5-6 I guess in the lvl 1. can we upgrade the weapons that we place or no?

Submitted(+1)

I spent so much time playing this I almost forgot to rate it before the jam ends lol! Great game! I found the best start for chapter 1 was 2 100 gold turrets and a canon, but I’m still trying to get through the last waves. Really fun!

Submitted(+1)

I failed on the last wave of chapter one...

Quite polished, nicely done!

Submitted(+1)

Nice tower defense game :) Looking forward to see more of your games !

Submitted(+1)

Awesome Game, Maybe add some upgrades to the towers?

Submitted(+1)

Good job on the game! Loved the asset choice and the vfx you used! Would have liked it if you could sell turrets to buy the more expensive ones.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for your feedback! We actually had upgrade/sell options in the early builds. However, we decided to try a different approach and removed those options. With this approach, we believe it would make both gold and tower decisions more valuable and strategic. This way, players would first observe and understand both the level design and game mechanics, then use their towers accordingly.

Nice art, easy to play and smooth gameplay. I would have liked some tower upgrades as none of the towers had a very strong feel to them. overall though it was very nice great work!.

Thank you for your feedback! We actually planned to have different bullet upgrades like "ice bullet" and "electric bullet", each with unique advantages and disadvantages, instead of tower upgrades. However, due to time constraints, we couldn't implement them. (Because the idea occurred to us at the last minute)

One of the best TD games I've played so far. Not only are the visuals nice and polished, but the difficulty seems balanced really well. Completely lost track of time adjusting my strategy to beat ch 1. Fantastic submission! Good job guys!

Submitted(+1)

I love TD! Your TD game looks so appealing. I especially love the low-lit scene. Keep it up! I'd love to see some more unique aspects of your game compared to other TD games in general.

Very well done and polished gameplay!

There haven't been as many tower defense games as I expected when the theme was announced, or at least I haven't found that many of them myself. This one works very nicely, I especially liked setting the second chapter at night for some graphical variety.

The gameplay is simple, as is expected of something put together in the time limit, but it works perfectly well as it is. I did become overconfident the first time I played and lost on round 9 when I had money to spare. The second time I fared better.

One note on this, surely it makes a bit more sense to phrase it as "[T]hey are not much for us!"? :D

5 Stars in everything!
It's safe to say this is my favorite game out of all games I tried this game jam.
For a first project, it's especially great. The mechanics, the art, the music wow!
But the most important part is the balancing! It was very challenging, but always felt possible! I enjoyed it and finished the night level.
I would suggest continuing this game for a release.
For improvement I got a few main points:
1. The moment between starting the game and the horde coming in is awkward, the story is still shown on the screen and the orcs start coming in.
2. The animation for placing a weapon is not clear, half of the time I thought I couldn't place a weapon because of the color.
3. Maybe have an option to replace or upgrade the current weapons? Or it's part of the challenge when this is not possible?
Cheers

Developer

Thank you for your feedback!

  1. I'm quite new to game development overall, and this was my first time working with user interfaces. Since the initial release (and even before), I've been actively trying to fix UI-related bugs. I thought I had addressed everything, but apparently, I haven't. I'll look into that and release a patch as soon as possible. 😊
  2. I'm not entirely sure I understand what you meant here.
  3. This was actually a deliberate design decision. By making both gold and tower placement decisions more significant, players are encouraged to carefully consider their choices before placing a tower.

Yeah I thought so about (3), Clever choice.

About (2), I mean that the icons for the weapons or setting them seem kind of dark and It gives the sensation that "Weapon is not available", Because sometimes the weapons light up but when they are selected I think it's darkened or something like that.

Developer (2 edits)

A dark button means you cannot afford the tower. If you have enough gold, the button lightens up; if not, it darkens again. Additionally, if you have enough gold and select the tower, the button will turn green, indicating that it is currently selected.

I guess that's what I mean, to me personally it felt like the weapon was unavailable.
It could be a matter of taste, I think even changing the shade of green could help.
If I'm not looking directly at the selected weapon but rather at the screen it's really hard to differentiate the selected weapon from the other unavailable ones.
I think using a lighter color and doing something like highlighting the selected weapon with a perimeter like the orcs have around them is a good idea.

HI! Your game is very fun and challenging. I really liked the concept and the mechanics are interesting too. The only thing, which isn't negative, but leaves me a little in doubt, is the sudden increase in the latest waves. Especially the last one is almost impossible to take down even though all the blocks for the turrets have been occupied. Overall it's a very fun game, but maybe I would lower the speed of the last wave of enemies.

I like it! ;-)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback. I assure you that it is possible to beat the game by making the right decisions. We made this design decision because the game doesn't have many levels, and we thought it would be more fun if players didn't win on their first try. We believe this will encourage players to develop strategies after analyzing the level design and extend the playtime. Additionally, I'm confident that once you understand the mechanics, you'll be able to beat both levels effortlessly.

Submitted(+1)

For sure it is a good game, it's very cute and fun. Having to make decisions and create a winning strategy is very stimulating. Unfortunately, the concept of difficulty is hard to regulate, I have problems with this too: those who say it's too easy and then you make it more difficult; there are those who are fine with it and then think "I'll leave it as it is"; finally there are those who say "it's too difficult". So I admire your decision. You decided like this for a reason, and it is right so ^^

excellent basic tower defense, every element is really well polished, particularly like the visuals and the horn before each horde. Well done.

Great game!  I wanted to play it more!

Submitted(+1)

nice TD game, the difficulty ramp-up is real :D

Submitted(+1)

Fun little romp.  I was beginning to think it was too easy and then bam, it ramped up hard.  Great job!

Submitted(+1)

It is a fun, really polished game with satisfying graphics, mechanics, and sound design. As others have already pointed out, the replay is bugged, but it's not a big deal.

Developer(+1)

With the Version 3.1, it should be fixed right now, also thank you!

(+1)

I love tower defence, but the replay its a little bugged

Developer

With the latest bug fix, it should be completely fine right now. Thank you!

Submitted(+1)

Nice little tower defence, was swimming in cash on first level, couldn't get through last wave of second, might need a little balancing :)

Submitted(+1)

Finally on day 3 I was able to click this OK button :)

The game works smoothly, and shooting animations are satisfying, good submission.
