Did you work in a team?
Solo dev. I had a great time as always!

Was the resolution a challenge?
It's tricky because from the players POV you can't "see" very far, so allowances have to be made for that.

What did you learn?
I learned that I should consider flamethrowers an absolutely valid mechanic.

I finished your game with an A+ rating, although the character design looks kinda SUS, I really liked it!

Excellent execution on a very accessible game! A tad too easy for my taste, but good fun to play through nevertheless. The pixel art and music are just great. I liked the idea of the "cannon fodder" type interaction with the main objective a lot, however I was left wanting for another twist or two to layer on top of it.

Overall a great experience, fantastic effort for two weeks!

A pretty simple game, I managed to do a perfect run on my first go, so I'm pretty happy about that. The fire effect kept me satisfied all the way till the end!

Submitted

good atmosphere, and good music. maybe a bit too easy.

The basic game loop and gameplay is simple but the atmosphere and general high quality made it really fun to play until the end! Burning the eggs and aliens was also quite satisfying :)

A boss fight would have fit really well at the end :D

Great game! I really enjoy it.

At the end of the game, I said to myself: "be careful, it's time for the boss fight."

but there is no boss fight...

I got "A+" on the first try

you: ok *inhales* *exhales* lets finish this monkey boss

*helicopter lends*

you: the monkey boss is in a helicopter?

you(again): THE MONKEY HELICOPTER KIDNAPPED ME-

A very polished game. Great to look at and listen to, fun to play. The flame sprites are just *chefs kiss*.

The ending screen is telling me I didn't find any easter eggs when I'm pretty sure I just ate 400, or was that not chocolate? ,':/
My second play through \o/ such a great game, thanks for the A++ :D all round winner!

Very well made. I see it as a reminder that execution is more important than concept. The setting and map layout made me curious enough to explore. The secrets were a nice addition, the art and music set the tone perfectly. Great game!

Brilliant! Great atmosphere and really enjoyable to play. I found a small bug where I could get trapped in a corner which I probably shouldn't have been able to access anyway since the hitboxes definitely did not let me back out. I could have burned the eggs to get out but had no fuel left.

A very well made game! There's a lot of replay value to it, which I love!

As someone else mentioned the enemies in the game felt a little redundant, they sort of just walk around a bit.  The eggs also could have been utilized better, but they work as blockades well enough.

The music, art, sound design and easy-to-understand gameplay are all very well done! Great job!

The game was very well-imagined. Good mechanics, good level layout. The in-game map is diegetic, being placed on terminals throughout the world. Each area is themed. It's well made. My  criticisms are as follows:

1. the flamethrower is just as effective if you just tap it to conserve fuel as if you douse something. That's gotta go. I never dropped below half a tank.

2. the enemies don't even target me they just seem to walk randomly. Not only that but I can outrun then. The flame thrower should slow them as they attack you ferociously. and if you don't hit them in time, they kill you.

3. The flamethrower is linked to the direction you are walking. This is fine in this more laid back version of the game, but if you take my suggestions for 1 + 2 into account you gotta make the flamethrower mouse controlled (or analog stick)

4.  The eggs should totally start hatching if you take too long. that would be sick. It means you have some more interesting decisions to make instead of just taking your time. I also think a big flashing timer on the screen somewhere would be awesome for the intensity.

These are just things I personally think would make the game more enjoyable   for me. if you want to keep this more atmospheric game with your low risk gameplay, by all means do so. i still had a great time, as the art and the sound transported me into this cleaner's world of destroying a nest with their flamethrower. I gave the game a solid rating :) hope you had fun making it, and I hope to see you in other jams down the line.

This is a great game!! The rooms were all laid out in very unique ways and never felt samey, so much set decoration to keep things fresh and the tiles themselves were clean and looked good. The navigation terminals and pulling up the map was implemented amazingly, the map was designed so well for readability given the res constraints. Just a great game all round I think.

Sound it's also well done with those like ominous lingering notes, very atmospheric. Invokes spooky alien stuff very well.

Gameplay wise I liked using the flamethrower, it felt like it had good spread and I could kind rock into a room and just shred eggs.

I would like to be able to sprint or something just to make it a bit faster to backtrack to an item or something but that's really just a personal thing.

Nice dude!  The level design was clever!  I liked that all of your rooms were only like 48x48 (or something like that) so that you could peek into the next room over.

The only bummer is that on my first playthrough, I managed to use up all my flamethrower juice before and the 2 canisters I found were tucked away behind eggs that I couldn't get past without the flamethrower.  But after that, I replayed it and got all the way through.  Well done!

(Also, the character totally looked like the character from our game, so bonus points there! LOL)

That does seem frustrating, definitely gotta be an oversight.

A great vibe and wonderful animation. The flamethrower feels powerful and the firy explosions are satisfying. It feels very solid, and I love the animation on the player character. Really well done.

Absolutely gorgeous!

A real inspiration of what can be done in only two weeks!

Great work, and thanks for making it!

I really enjoyed this, but I ran out of fuel for my flamethrower and I couldn’t figure out how to get more, though I’m sure I probably missed something super obvious! 😊

original! keep up nice work.

I enjoyed this a lot. Very intuitive and fun gameplay. The flamethrower sounds and mechanic is satisfying.
