I have absolutely no idea how you made this in 48 hours. Also, the enemy was very easy, i didn't use a single health pack and it didn't do much damage to me. Also, once i got it's attention it was very easy to just unload into it's facehole and kill it in like... 2 encounters. However it was very sketchy and still very fun to play. Not totally sure what the role reversal was?
hey! Thanks I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Only thing is I had 2 other hero ships about halfway done when I realized I wouldn’t have time for either, so we’re left with just the one guy. I might update the game., so if you’d like to see more, drop me a follow or I can’ try to comment just lemme know.
I tried fiddling with adding a grab_buffer, but my cognitive load was too high and my code was getting messier and messier and my methods more and more sketchy, so I just gave up on that cuz I still had stuff to add. Haha.
anyway, I KNOW RIGHT? I feel like the idea of controlling the drones is brilliant. I had an idea while working on it for an auto battler based on Galaga where you earn ands select what units are on the field while the heroes send more and more units/higher class ships at you. Could be a neat like mobile game or something akin to Loop Hero.
I really quite liked this game. I stumbled on this because I had a different project by you bookmarked lol. That last level was more frustrating that fun only cuz i knew what i needed to do, but took too many loops to do it. But I could see this game being more than this if it had more mechanics added. Really neat.
The characters just seem very basic looking. I think they're a good base, but if you added some shading or accents to the characters the graphics would immediately improve.
The thing you described about the enemy attacks is exactly what I mean. I feel like it should either only hit you if you're standing on the tile at the end of your beat or the the beginning of your beat, not both, but I see why you did it that way, and the whole game would have to be designed differently if you did one or the other instead of both. You had some clever ideas here.
This was very very intense for me. The gameplay was... pretty good. I feel like the music made me anxious as hell, but that's probably the intention. Great job with this. Graphics were pretty good. The music might've been a little too repetitive, but that probably added to the anxiety, so... IDK if i have any useful feedback.
The green guys. Way easier if you just stand up and run back and forth until they shoot, and then you take your shot and then start moving again. Was that the intention?
Went in expecting a rhythm game, and got a puzzle game instead. I was pleasantly surprised. I see you said Rhythm games are hard to make, but I don't think this would count as a rhythm game, even though the moves happen to a beat. Very interesting game, but a bit frustrating that it seems like enemy attacks seem to be "alive' for 2 beats instead of one, but it's okay. I really liked this :)
Almost forgot to mention how cool the intro voices were. The only thing I actively disliked was the graphics, but the game was really good. fun to play. Bit hard to start, but satisfying to figure out, so probably a net positive that it's hard to understand at first.
