Did you work in a team?
Just me

Was the resolution a challenge?
To make 3D work at such a low resolution you have to be very sparing with the detail.

What did you learn?
This was my first attempt at a 3D game. There were many problems... haha

Really cool to see another 3D game!

Developer

Needle & Frost is beautiful!

I am owed underpants. This feels like a modern well-made indie game fr, I hope this makes it to Markiplier's 3 scary games series :0

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the playing - it'd be amazing if Markiplier played it! *fingers crossed* Also, what's your address? I have your replacement underpants.

Submitted(+1)

Scary.
Very cool 3D actually, and sound makes good suspension. It's just me not brave enough to play horror games, I died in the first room.

Good work!

Developer

Thanks for the playing!

Just the right amount of difficulty to keep it challenging but not impossible. Didn't know I could be that scared from a pixelated creature. Some QOL issues I had, the hitbox for interacting with items was a bit small, really had to be quite precise when clicking on bottles and buttons etc. Also when you hold the bottle, it's right in your field of view, quite hard to see the creature approaching, not sure if this was intentional but it's a bit of a hinderance. But besides from that great job, one of the best I've seen so far.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and your feedback - both of those issues are things I'm considering changes to for a post jam version of the game. :)

Awesome game, very good 3D implementation considering jam limitations!

Thanks for playing! :)

Congratulations on making this game ! I've played your game during a live that you can watch here :

The live is timestamped so you can go directly to your game.

Thank you for being here during the live btw. I hope the feedback and live reactions will be useful. Keep it up !

Developer

It was great, thanks so much for playing. :)

Nice entry. The claustrophobic setting and the actual dread feeling are great. You have very nice mechanics based on “beeing quiet” like throwing the flasks. Maybe just me not being so adept to this kind of game, but once you make some noise and you’re found then you’re as good as dead (or I was…), I did not find a way to outrun & evade the creature stalking you. Anyway a very solid entry, particularly if this was your fist 3D game attempt. Congratz!

Developer(+1)

When standing your movement speed is slightly higher than the monster's top speed so unless you're cornered it should be possible to run away and then sneak from where you ran to, though I have to admit that in the heat of the moment it can be very easy to panic and not get it right! I haven't seen anyone mention this but you might also want to try throwing the flasks at the monster... Thanks for playing :)

thank you for the tips… seems you really balanced things to the point ;) Will need to keep trying

Im safe \o/ wow that was nerve racking, I really love the visuals of this I got shivers quite a few times :) great game!

Developer(+1)

Nice! Shivers is good. Thanks for playing :)

Really loved the atmosphere in this.
The audio and visuals were great, though maybe the monster could have looked more menacing.

Another area, maybe some lore, or some kind of simple puzzle element would have made this feel a bit more complete I think.

Developer

Yeah, I actually originally intended to have a puzzle in the game (about power rerouting to get a lift online) but unfortunately I just ran out of time and it ended up being cut. Frankly, it was touch and go whether this version would be ready for the deadline! Thanks for playing :)

Really cool atmosphere for a horror game and the art is really good.

Developer

Thanks for playing! :)

Very nice to see billboard 3d games on this jam, the atmosphere is quite nice, impressive what you managed to do

Developer

Thanks for playing!

This is one of the best I have played so far, and I don't even like horror games! I like how transparent the rules are, the monster is predictable yet scary. I also like how each action the player can take has up- and downsides. I haven't yet figured out what to do after the purple door, but I'll get there...

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it. :)

Submitted(+1)

Beautiful! Really love how it looks, amazing you can do this at 64x64. Couldn't quite figure out how to escape, I guess there was some way to open the locked doors but I missed it. Loved the door sound btw. The atmosphere could have been even spookier, felt tense only when chased. Did you try realtime lights? I guess they might be "noisy" at this resolution.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Yeah, you have to find the keycards but their location is somewhat randomised. Fun fact: the door opening and closing sounds were originally a recording of my vacuum cleaner! Unfortunately 3D lighting isn't an option in Construct so I couldn't try it but I agree that it may not have worked at such a low resolution anyway. Thanks for playing! :)

Submitted

Haha cool, we record random stuff in the house too! :P

neat but weird

Developer

Ha, thanks for playing!

this is great

Developer

Thanks for playing!

I still need to find my ball friend, but it all felt super intuitive.  The audio clues are masterful, and I really did feel the atmosphere.  This is great overall!

Developer(+1)

That's great news, thanks for playing! :)  Oh, and the ball is definitely in there.

Submitted

I plan on finding him...

Submitted(+2)

wew that was actually pretty tense lol. Making the purple door open slowly like that is diabolical lmao

I ended up doing very little sneaking and just sprinting around and trying to juke the monster, I did get  to the your safe screen :D Good work, nice entry!

Developer

Haha, yeah, gotta keep the tension up! Good to hear you got to the end - thanks for playing! :)

Fantastic work and congrats on finishing the jam! :)
