cool game, the mix 2D 3D is very effective Gj

Developer

Mixing 2d and 3d is our team's style, since I feel better in 3d gameplay and my brother does 2d graphics.

Thanks for playing!

Submitted

We played it to the end, it was a lot of fun, great mix of 2D and 3D, good art. Sadly the rain sound was super loud, so we muted it. Very similar to Exit 8.

Developer

Thanks for playing to the end! If you liked it you may want to play again- the game has 16 anomalies, so you might have missed some :)

Submitted

I really enjoyed this game! The visuals are very well done, and I’m impressed because creating a complete 3D game in just 10 days is no easy task—but you did it! At first, I had trouble finding any anomalies, but as I kept playing, I started to recognize them. It probably wasn’t intentional, but the ghost appearance scared me so much! Overall, it’s a really fun and polished game with a full intro. The only thing that could be improved is the rain sound looping, but that’s just a small detail. I truly loved the game!

Developer

Thanks!

Actually making games in 3d isn't as difficult, as you think! Check out some Unity tutorials and start with something small, and you'll learn it in no time :)

As for the ghosts- we wanted some of the anomalies to be subtle, and some to be, well not so subtle :)

Which ghost did you get? The balcony, the desk, or the coatrack?

I really liked the animation in the menu - nice touch! As someone who leans towards the artistic side, I naturally notice game design details. The overall art style took me a moment to get used to, but I ended up enjoying it. Some UI elements, like the buttons, didn’t quite fit the size, and the text could be refined. If you’re looking to refine the experience, consider using text styles and colors that better match the game’s atmosphere. The story idea is intriguing, though I found myself wondering about the logic - why does he already know how many anomalies to find? The appearing ghost(s) were a highlight - especially the TV moment, that was super fun! :D

I noticed that the water SFX stopped at one point, which made me think it was an anomaly, but it wasn’t.

Overall, this is a really nice little game, and it fits the 'breaking the loop' theme perfectly!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, and for a long comment!

As for the story- I could probably fleshed it out a bit more in the intro, but I intended the character, to be a somewhat well known ghost-hunter. So when he finds himself in a looping curse, he knows what to do. It's not like it's his first rodeo :)

Submitted

I like the game, I wasn't expecting a ghost appearing from nowhere, I got a little bit scared at the first time seeing it, the animations look great and I like the idea, maybe you need to add more anomalies.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

In the final game we had 15 anomalies (two got cut, because lights work differently in the web-build), we figured it would be enough for a jam game. We didn't want to throw in things that weren't interesting (like changing the color of the coffee machine).

As for the ghost- there are three (and one on the TV)! Which one did you get?

Man, this is one multiple comments that tell me about the rain. Next time, I have to be more careful with the sound levels.

As for the ghost- it WAS going to be in the intro, we even had a special version of the graphic, but you never see the window in the intro, an I wanted to keep the camera static, so it got cut :(

But now I thought, it's a pity that no one is gonna see it, so I'll drop it in this comment instead :)

Very cool! I enjoyed the game right from the start, especially with the player watching Community. It was easy to understand what to do and jump right into the fun—something that can't be said for a lot of jam entries. The art style was dope as well!

Developer

YES! Finally someone noticed the Community on the TV!

I swear, sometimes you do a small thing in those jam games, and wonder if anyone notices, and comments like this make the extra effort worthwhile :D

good game, my only critique is that it is not original. this is basically exit 8. if you added more originality to the gameplay it would have been perfect (i mean, even the times you need to find the anomalies is 8 like exit 8!) the art style is nice though a bit more polish to the environment could really help this game

Developer

Yeah, I never did a anomaly search game before, so I didn't want to overscope. In the end, I wish I added something more, to break a "Exit 8" formula a bit.

Thanks for playing!

Art style of this game is amazing, mixing 2d and 3d creates a very good atmosphere!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! We mix 2d and 3d in most of our games, so if you liked that, you can check'em out!

I love the art style an I had a great time looking for anomalies (with the help of hints). It would have been so cool to have a smooth transition when going through the door, like in the intro, but maybe I'm asking for too much haha.

Developer(+1)

The smooth "going through the door" animation proved a bit tricky. The player can open the door from different positions, and angles, so in the end I just disable the player collider, and player controls, and force them through the door :)

Submitted

Wow. Just wow! There is so much I love about this game. For one, the atmosphere it creates is so immersive, from the well-thought out 3D (almost kind of claustrophobic?) room, subtle but super effective sound effects, art, and more! This game was beyond engaging! The ghost definitely scared me when it first appeared. Truly amazing work!!

Developer

Thanks man! I have to admit I cheated a bit with the room design. It's basically a smaller version of my living room :)

As for the ghost- which one did you get? There are three (four if you count the one that appears on TV)

Submitted

I love the 2D animations and objects in the 3D environment. Even the 3D objects themselves were really well done. The gameplay loop was very interesting, at first, I thought it was going to be like observation duty, but then that sweet ghost popped and scared me. There were a few instances where I got it wrong and did not understand why, but then everything started being more obvious. The TV show was a nice touch as well. The only issue I have is the game volume. It is entirely too loud, with 50% volume many games come off as loud to me. But this one falls in the surprise ear drum blowout category.

Overall, thank you for the game, I enjoyed playing it.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Mixing 2d and 3d is how we roll, so if you liked it, feel free to check out the rest of our games!

I really like the way this looks, The blend of 2D/3D is a cool idea. The gameplay is a simple but neat idea however it was very confusing at first because the game wasnt very clear on what i was supposed to be doing. Nice game overall fits the theme very well.

Developer(+1)

Thanks!

We didn't want to bug the player down with lengthy instructions, and in the end I guess most people figured out what to do.

As for 2d graphics with 3d gameplay- this is what we do :)

Submitted (1 edit)

Very good.

Developer

Thanks for playing, glad you liked it!

The gameplay was simple, but for this concept, it was enough, of course. The first cutscene and overall visuals were phenomenal ,definitely the best aspect of the game. The sound design was good too, though the rain sound could loop a bit more seamlessly. As for innovation, while it’s not entirely new, it’s a well-made and well-presented game that fits the theme really well

Developer(+1)

Thanks! This is our first anomaly search game, and we didn't want to overscope. In the end, I think we could mix it up a bit, as implementing the anomaly search is pretty easy :)

Game shred end wen the clock strike 13

Developer

That... would be totally cool! I wish I thought of that :)

Submitted

Wow, that was really cool. I didn't immediately understand what to do, but it was fun. I even got scared at the end))

Developer

Thanks!

This is what we were going for- a bit spooky with an occasional jumpscare ;)

I can't properly rate your game in terms of gameplay because I believe you're making some mistakes that prevent people from playing it. There's no tutorial to explain the mechanics, even though the game isn't easy to understand, and I know the game you're inspired by.

As for the art, it's the strongest aspect of your game, and the cinematics are very good. I like how you introduce the game to the player, though I would put the dialogues inside a text box instead.

The sound effects are very good; in my opinion, the absence of music is not a drawback.

In my opinion, the level of innovation is very low since you took the easy route and made a clone of the game that likely inspired the theme of this jam. That's how I see it.

Obviously, the theme is well represented by what was mentioned before.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Very nice love the art style and it fits very well with the theme. I thought a few times that i chose wrong but finished the game anyway so i was surprised.  That brings me to the only thing that bothered me, while i know the clock changed i tried to pay attention to all so i did not realy know sometimes if i chose wrong or right, maybe an another visual or audio cue to tell if you made a wrong or right choice?

So I'm just going to rate every category with some comments to it.

Gameplay: When the jam started, I knew someone was going to make a game based around this idea, and here it is! It's a classic game for this idea with cool ideas, like the ghost in the TV, outside, etc., so good work!

Art: I think I've played your game in the 12th jam, and back then I've liked your art style very much! One thing distracted me, because the chair was sometimes a bit lighter blue and sometimes a darker blue.

Sound: Good sounds, good atmospheric rain sound

Innovation: The idea is not that big of an innovation, because it was implemented in other "big" games before. Like I said, there were cool ideas for the things that change in a room.

Theme: Yeah, the theme was on point; nothing to say here.

A very solid game, and good work!
