Thank you! It actually IS a minesweeper-like game :D Glad you liked it after getting into controls and rules :)

Great game overall. It’s impressive how much you managed to build in such a short time. That alone deserves some credit. A bit of music would have been a nice addition to round things out, but even without it, the core gameplay works well. It’s a solid tower defense game, and the “uninvited guest” theme fits naturally with the genre. The Halloween touch also comes through clearly in the visuals and overall tone. The art style looks good, though it could use a bit more polish to make everything feel consistent, especially with the backgrounds. Using a set color palette might help tie it all together more smoothly. Still, it’s a really nice jam entry!
Good game overall. It takes a bit of time to get into, but once you do, it’s quite fun. Some extra feedback when clicking or hovering over things would really help... even small animations or sounds could make interactions feel smoother and more engaging (more than just decreasing the number of the stuff). The art style is great, and I loved how the monsters change costumes. That little detail was genuinely fun to watch and fits the Halloween vibe perfectly! I wasn’t totally sure how it connects to the “uninvited guest” theme, though. Maybe a clearer link through story or visuals, would help tie it together. Would also be nice to see the current score somewhere... A bit more music and some more sound effects would also go a long way toward making the whole experience feel richer and more alive.
I really enjoyed this one, though I might be a little biased since I love puzzle games. The art style looks great and captures the Halloween vibe perfectly. The “uninvited guest” theme also fits nicely with how the game plays, which makes it feel cohesive and well thought out! The UI could use a bit more polish, but that’s pretty normal for a jam game. Adding a few extra sound effects or small animations would make the experience feel more complete as well... for example, some feedback when hovering over or selecting a card would help a lot. Switching between “kick” and “keep” with a single button would also make the controls smoother and faster to use. than clicking on. Given the limited time to create it, this turned out to be a really solid entry. It’s very creative and fits the theme well, while also everything is functional. I also liked the little 'dialogues' of the guests! With just a little more feedback and visual polish, it could easily stand out even more.
The start of the game can be a bit rough... It takes a moment to get used to the movement and controls, but once you do, it becomes a lot more enjoyable. As already mentioned: A tutorial would be nice here. The collision with walls feels off...the character bounces backward in a weird way, which breaks the flow of movement. Making the collisions smoother or less “bouncy” would really help the gameplay feel more natural. The visuals could definitely use some more attention, something others already stated as well. A few extra details, art work that fits together or lighting effects could make the environments more interesting. Adding proper sound effects would also make a huge difference, but I really like the music track. The idea of including minigames is great. Always feels like a tiny challenge that keeps things interesting. As for the theme, the Halloween and “uninvited guest” concept works, somehow, but the connection feels a little weak at times? But overall, this is a solid first jam entry!
Nice entry! The visuals really shine. The mix of 2D and 3D gives the game a unique look, and the animationsare great. The gameplay feels smooth, while shooting is satisfying, and the controls respond right away. The enemies act differently from each other, which keeps things interesting! The house looks great but feels too big a bit...
My biggest issue: With no sound effects or music, the world feels oddly empty. Even a few simple sounds would make it come alive and give the fights more energy. It also is missing an ending...? I get the connection to the them, but there is no special take on it in my opinion... A few more story or visual touches would help tie it all together.
However, overall, it’s a polished and promising game that only needs sound and a proper ending to really stand out.
Honestly pretty entertaining, chaotic in the best possible way. On my first run, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and just started spamming the invite button like my life depended on it. Suddenly, the place was packed, and I was surrounded by an absurd number of guests. They were definitely not amused... xD
Complete madness. But hey, the game didn’t break, so props for that! It actually ran very smoothly despite the crowd of partygoers piling up. Once I understood what was going on, my second attempt felt much more intentional, ordering food and stuff, inviting guests, and keeping the party alive. The game play loop is surprisingly satisfying once it clicks. The mix between resource management and chaos control makes it fun to juggle everything. Visually, the game looks great. The art style has personality, and the blend of 2D and 3D elements works really nicely together. It gives the game a distinct look without feeling gimmicky. The controls are responsive and smooth, which helps a lot when things start to get hectic. You’ve nailed the overall presentation, especially considering the time constraints of a jam.
The music and sound effects fit perfectly too. Energetic, and full of that party vibe that makes the whole thing feel alive. You really do get that Halloween-party atmosphere, with just enough weirdness to make it fun rather than spooky. Those characters with the red outlines were meant to be the uninvited ones, but I wasn’t totally sure at first. Maybe it has to be more obvious what they are doing. Fits the theme though! Overall, this is a really strong jam entry. It’s stylish, runs smoothly, and has a satisfying rhythm once you figure it out. A bit more thematic clarity, bit polish on the UI stuff and you’ve got something that’s not just fun but cleverly layered too.
This is a fun little game that really leans into the Halloween spirit. The idea of playing as the uninvited guest yourself, sneaking around and stealing candy you’re absolutely not supposed to take, is a clever twist on the theme. It’s simple and captures that mischievous Halloween energy perfectly. The visuals are quite nice overall, though there’s some inconsistency in the art style that stands out a bit (?) Certain assets feel sharper or more detailed than others, which makes the overall presentation feel a little uneven. Still, there’s a clear sense of effort and creativity in the design. The environments have enough personality to sell the mood and I really like that you can explore the whole map to keep things fun.
The biggest issue for me is the audio balance. The music is really loud. It’s energetic, sure, but it doesn’t quite match the sneaky vibe of the game play. A softer, sneakier tune would have made the act of 'candy-stealing' feel even more satisfying. Adding some more well-timed SFX, like footsteps, or even a nervous “caught!” sound, could also elevate the immersion and humor of the moment. Gameplay-wise, it works fine for a jam game. The pacing is quick, and it’s easy to jump in and understand what to do. It’s a solid jam entry! A bit more polish in art consistency and audio balance, and this could easily become a polished little Halloween gem.
For a jam entry, this is a solid attempt that clearly had some thought behind it. The idea of playing as a ghost sneaking around your own home is not new, but genuinely interesting, as there’s something quietly tragic and eerie about it that fits Halloween perfectly. The art style itself is appealing, though, as you probably know, the rooms could use a little more detail to make them feel lived in (or rather, haunted in), or they just need to be smaller. Gameplay-wise, the slow walking speed does make things drag a little... It gives that classic ghostly “floaty” feeling, sure, but when paired with the long intro scene, it starts testing the player’s patience before the action even begins. Shortening the introduction or allowing players to skip it would definitely improve pacing without losing atmosphere.I completely get your concept of being an uninvited guest by being the ghost, but story-wise it lands in a slightly awkward place. Since it’s your home and your family, it almost reverses the theme. If, instead, you had been haunting a random family’s house, it would’ve sold that “uninvited” concept more cleanly. Still, the emotional undercurrent of a ghost trying not to be seen by loved ones is actually quite powerful. The lack of music and sound effects is a missed opportunity. A few subtle whispers or soft ambient tones could have lifted the tension tenfold. As for the possession mechanic: Like others already mentioned, if it had worked properly, that would’ve been a great touch. All that said, it’s an impressive piece for a first game jam. The concept is strong, the art and mood are good, and it’s clear you’ve got a good grasp of what makes atmosphere work. Some polish, better pacing, and a more refined take on the story premise, and this could easily evolve into something really special.
I really like the visuals and overall sound design of your game. They work together beautifully to create a haunting and immersive atmosphere right from the start! The color palette, lighting, and overall tone capture that eerie, unsettling horror vibe somehow perfectly without ever feeling overdone. The sounds really help bring that tension to life (and are needed of course), while every noise makes you feel like something is waiting to make its move. The icons stand out a bit too much compared to the rest of the visuals though. Either the colors or the design style don’t quite match the aesthetic tone the rest of the game sets. It’s not a huge issue, but because the rest of the visuals are so cohesive, those icons end up feeling a little disconnected, like they belong to a slightly different game. A consistent color scheme could make them blend better with the rest of the art style.
Gameplay-wise, I’ll admit the first few minutes were rough for me. I kept dying repeatedly without really understanding what I was doing wrong or right), and that made the early experience frustrating. It’s one of those moments where you’re just sitting there thinking, “Okay… what am I missing?” But once it finally clicked (haha, I read the description), I had that sudden “oh…” realization that made everything make sense. In a way, that discovery made me appreciate the design more! But I think giving the player just a tiny bit more guidance at the beginning could smooth that curve out. Thematically, though, it fits. Given how many times that “guest” took me out, I can confidently say they were most definitely not invited.
Overall, it’s a solid entry with tons of potential and a strong foundation, with just a little polish, it could really shine!
Really nice game play overall that definitely fits both the Halloween theme and the idea of the uninvited guest perfectly. It actually reminded me of that old game called Sven: Here you’re the black sheep sneaking around and trying to “catch” all the white sheep without getting caught yourself. Clever and funny concept, now using a wolf to fit the Halloween atmosphere!
The art style is charming and has a lot of character, though some of the elements don’t fully match in tone or color palette, which makes it feel slightly inconsistent at times. Still, it’s obvious that a lot of care went into designing the visuals, and the overall aesthetic works well enough to carry the idea. The UI could use a bit more polish to feel smoother and more integrated into the rest of the art, but it’s functional and doesn’t get in the way (just check some text for grammar).
The music fits the game nicely and really helps to create that eerie yet playful mood. The sheep sounds are a fun touch too, though adding more variety in sound effects could make the world feel even more alive. Overall, this is a very solid, creative, and memorable entry that manages to balance theme and game play really well.
Really good game! especially impressive knowing you pulled it off within just 24 hours. There’s a surprising amount of story here, and it actually takes some time to get through, which is great. I know you didn’t have enough time to add the proper ending, but that’s totally fine given how much is already in place. Just ONE THING: I WANT TO KNOW HOW IT COULD HAVE ENDED!!!
For keyboard users, it would feel more natural to use E for interactions instead of Z, and being able to use the mouse for the computer segments would be a nice touch. That said, it’s cool that you made it work with a gamepad too, definite bonus points there. I did notice that some dialogue reappears when opening cameras or interacting with things you’ve already checked... maybe consider having each line show only once.
The art style is fantastic. I love pixel art, and your backgrounds and characters look great. The dark, dramatic story fits the Halloween spirit well and nails the uninvited guest theme. The music sets the mood nicely too. Adding a few more sound effects here and there would really elevate the atmosphere even more. Overall, a strong and well-executed entry.
The music is really catchy. I found myself humming along, even if it does get repetitive after a while. The overall game design is charming too, though I’ll admit I’m biased since I’ve got a soft spot for pixel art. The game play follows a simple but solid concept that works well, and everything captures the Halloween vibe perfectly. The connection to the “uninvited guest” theme feels a bit weak though. I appreciate the effort you put into the intro, it sets the mood nicely, but it might benefit from being trimmed down a little, since the “angry kids” idea comes across quickly and the transition to the title could flow faster. All in all, a very good entry, especially impressive given you pulled it off in just about 15 hours.
A very short game, as already mentioned in your description, but quite a good one for a last second entry. It definitely fits the Halloween theme, though I couldn’t really find a strong connection to the “uninvited guest” part. The game play itself is straightforward: Finding the coins and figuring out what the owl says is easy... too easy xD Oh and: When restarting...actually nothing resets :b
The art is decent, but it doesn’t blend together perfectly. The mix of pixel art and non-pixel elements feels a bit inconsistent, and the UI could use some extra polish to match the overall look. It’s usually better to commit fully to one style... mixing them can work, but here it just didn’t quite land. Still, for a last second jam entry, this is a solid effort. Short, simple, and well executed within the time frame.
Impressive work regarding the art, seriously I like it! The game play started feeling repetitive after a few rounds, but the mechanics are intuitive and easy to to handle. It felt weird to directly face every object to interact with it (like repairing doors or grabbing ammo). Would be better just standing next to it is enough for interaction. The sound effects and music fit, just like it fits for Halloween and especially the uninvited guest theme. Overall, good work. It feels very polished!
The art style is absolutely amazing. I really love it! It’s clean, expressive, and gives the game a lot of personality. The overall design fits the Halloween vibe perfectly, and the idea of searching for the uninvited guest ties beautifully into the theme.
Like others have mentioned, the conversation scene was the end for me too, which is a bit of a shame because I was genuinely enjoying the mini-games leading up to that point. They were creative, fun, and gave the gameplay some nice variety.
Aside from that, it’s a really solid entry that just needs a bit of bug fixing and polishing to smooth out the rough edges. The concept, art, and execution all come together really well! It’s one of those entries that clearly had a lot of care put into it.
The art style is great, although it might not all match perfectly, but it’s just so cute and funny that it doesn’t even matter. The contrast between the cute art and the eerie atmosphere actually works in the game’s favor. I actually laughed as soon as I started walking. The animation of the character’s movement and overall vibe are just delightful. That said, the walking speed feels a bit too slow, which makes the pacing drag at times... Combined with some empty hallways and sparse details, those moments can start to feel a little dull. Still, there are a few fun interactions scattered around that help break things up, so the slower pace doesn’t completely ruin the flow. A slight boost to movement speed or a bit more environmental variety could easily fix that. As already mentioned by others: Some things did not quite work... but hey, considering the given time this is just a minor. I really like how you implemented the monster! Overall, it’s a charming and funny little entry that fits both the Halloween spirit and the Uninvited Guest theme nicely. A bit more polish and detail, and it could become a very good game.
It’s a bit tricky to figure out what to do at first, but once you get the hang of it, it actually feels pretty good! I can see the connection to Halloween and the Uninvited Guests theme, though it feels a bit loose overall...The design is quite basic. Fitting for an early prototype, but not much beyond that. Still, the game play works and is functional, which is the most important part I think. The music is good, though it gets repetitive after a while, and some additional sound effects would really help bring the experience to life. Considering the limited time, it’s a solid entry that just needs more polish and depth to really stand out.
Many thanks for your feedback! Yes, I admit the tutorial is quite to difficult as a start... nice idea with the pictures of the tiles. My first idea actually was to show animations of the different tiles and how to interact with everything etc., but due to the time constraint I was not able to. Should have focused on that maybe instead of including a (currently not functional) leader board and different difficulties maybe^^
A basic platformer that could use a bit more polish, but the foundation is there! The controls work fine, though the jumping feels a bit off... the long airtime and strange gravity make it feel slightly floaty and unnatural. The basic game play is simple.
The visual style definitely fits the Halloween theme, but I didn’t really catch the connection to the Uninvited Guests aspect (?). There’s clear potential in the art, but the colors and overall style lack consistency, which makes the visuals feel somewhat disconnected. The UI is also quite small, with colors and fonts that don’t blend well with the rest of the game and could use some refinement.
That said, considering the short jam time frame, it’s still a respectable effort! The core is solid, it just needs more tuning and visual cohesion to really shine and also a special take on the theme would enhance the experience.
I really like the concept and gameplay idea! It fits both Halloween and the Uninvited Guests theme perfectly. The art style is great overall, though it’s a bit on the dark side, making it hard to see some details at times... I love how the dialogue, pixel art, and card elements all come together. It gives the game a distinct and charming style, fitting a horror/monster atmosphere, especially impressive given the short jam time frame.
Gameplay-wise, it could use a bit of fine-tuning. Even the tutorial felt pretty tough. I was dying way too quickly without really knowing why yet! A little more balancing and polish would make a huge difference. Still, it’s a creative and atmospheric entry with a lot of potential. Once smoothed out, it’ll be an awesome experience overall!
I'd like to play your game, but it does not load in web :(
EDIT:
Really impressive work! The game feels surprisingly polished, and the fact that you even added voice acting is a huge plus, especially given the limited time. It is a horror game, and yeah… it actually got me a few times, not gonna lie xD. I love the concept of chatting with the dev and playing as a tester while still getting freaked out. That mix of meta-humor and tension works so well. So: It fits the Halloween theme!
This project has massive potential to become a full game. There’s already a solid story foundation, clever world-building, some great comedic moments....A kind of like Portal’s tone, only wrapped in a creepier atmosphere. A few small hiccups though (nothing major, but worth fixing): stepping on buttons repeatedly causes the dialogue to trigger again (not instantly, it loops after the whole room’s dialogue finishes). Also, being forced to wait behind invisible walls until certain lines end can be a bit frustrating... maybe replace those with visible doors or barriers for clarity.
And about the red room: I suddenly died shortly after and wasn’t entirely sure why. If that’s intentional, maybe make it clearer, or consider adding checkpoints, because restarting from the beginning feels rough (and I didn't because this would be too much). Still, all in all, a fantastic jam entry. Tons of charm and clear effort behind it.
These kinds of games aren’t really my thing, though I can see how others might enjoy the experience more. The beginning felt a bit slow since nothing much happened for a while (at least for me?), and shooting takes quite some time to pull off, meanwhile, you die really fast.
I didn’t quite catch the connection to the Uninvited Guests theme, but it definitely fits the Halloween vibe. The graphics are fine overall, though the rooms feel a bit too large and empty. The flashlight didn’t seem to work consistently, but I really like the idea of using it as a core game play element! The music, though... those clicking sounds drove me a bit crazy! Could use a bit polish, I think. Still, it’s a solid entry given the short jam time, just not the type of game that clicks with me personally.
A nice little game, while I really like the art style of the character and ghosts, but they don’t quite match the background. The floor and interior look a bit blurry and seem to come from a different asset set, while the movable elements are sharper and more stylized. The player movement feels mostly fine, though a bit clunky at times.
Considering you made this in just two days, it’s still an impressive effort! Some additional enemies, more sound effects, and a bit of UI polish would really help elevate the experience. Despite its rough edges, it’s a fun little game that shows a lot of promise. I also really liked that there were different rooms to clear, great experience overall.
Thank you so much! I prepared the pumpkin character like 1 (or 2?) day(s) before the jam started, as I knew was on vacation from 29th to 31st of october and want to do a minesweeper-like game with top-down movement. Any other art was created during the jam, including all UI etc. I created SFX with Bfxr Soundmaker for and used music from Pixaby. So basically all assets (except music) was made by myself, 95% of it during the jam (character sprites). Thanks for letting me know regarding the SFX!
