Very fun and creative game! It looks great too, very consistent art and color scheme, really well done. The only bug I found was that the dice kept not registering when I dragged them in, which sometimes left them stuck and I couldn't drag them anymore. But, a simple re-roll usually fixed that and I still had a lot of fun. Good job!

Thanks for playing + the feedback! The dice reroll thing is defo the most common bug, glad u had a good one in spite of it. The new unity input system really threw me off ngl, spent waayy too long to just get it sometimes working lol

The idea and art are lovely! The concept is really fun, and the presentation is great!

Developer

thanks for playing man, glad u enjoyed the style!

Its quite interesting game.  I love artstyle. Very adorable. You might need to add some tutorial because sometimes its a bit confusing to understand whats happening. Nice game overall well done ^^

Developer

thanks for playing! + yeah, I definitely went too cryptic with some of the signs lol

Really great way to adhere to the theme of the jam! This one was one of the most creative applications of it I've seen yet. It's funny because a lot of the things that are limiting, like the FOV and fog, are usually super annoying, but for some reason I liked how they were used in this game.

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much ! it took a lot of tinkering to find a fog level that didn't feel too restrictive, glad u enjoyed it :)

Really creative use of the mechanic and I loved the atheistic.

I got caught out a few times by the glitch with the dice not registering that they were in the box. But 48 hours isn’t a long time and I had a lot of fun with this game :)

I also agree with other commenters that having the swap-points glow, or something, would be helpful both as a way-maker for where to go next, and also for when you don’t have perception and you’ve mistimed a jump!

Developer

Thanks for playing + the feedback man! definitely gotta get on the understanding-shaders grind haha

I really like the idea of the game, art and music. Good job!

by the way could you play and rate my game?

Developer

Thanks for playing man! I've got a big list of games still to rate by 8pm today but I'll add urs to it :)

Thanks! I am waiting :)

Cool game! Interesting concept and presentation, awesome work!

thanks for playing!

Very clever puzzle! Essentialy your goal is to memorise the level, using perception and choose what stats you would need to complete the next objective.

I unfortunately got stuck in one of the rooms (one where there is a platform in the middle, levers  ahead and on the left and a reroller on the right). The bug with the stats allocation was present for me as well.

Despite all that the idea is wonderfull, and I really enjoyed my time with game. There is a lot of potential here, and I hope you can finish the game after the jam.

Developer

thanks for playing man! I already have a lot of ideas for the game post jam, though it'll probably be in a much different form. Thank you for the feedback :)

really cool!  I love how perception was used as a mechanic, so you'd have to sort of memorize map layouts and get to a sign or a pit and navigate around it with your other stat.  That's really creative!  There were a few bugs, but those have all been pointed out by other users already.

I do kind of wish the no perception seeing range was a little further though.  It makes getting to another dice roller or a sign pretty difficult currently.

Nice job!

thanks for the feedback! I thought about highlighting the outline of the re-roll stations, no matter the distance, but 3D + shaders are areas I'm very inexperienced in so I didn't have the development time :( it's definitely something I'll improve if I take the concept further, thanks for playing! :)

awesome game!!! I really like the idea of the game, design and music/sounds. using RPG stats is adorable. there is a bit glithes (sometimes when u put dice in the stat cell, it doesn't really put in it and u need to reroll. if this happen in the beginning of the game when u can't reroll yet, u need to restart the game itself to play), but it's okay for 48h game. very good!!

Developer

Thanks for playing!! I just realised how easy it would have been to fix that glitch, I guess that's game jam stress for you though lol. Glad you enjoyed!

I like how you use the dice to change your stats, and the level desing is also great!

The music is really calming and fits the game.

The dice rolling itself is a bit annoying, because of course you want to get the '6' for your stats and the rollings always takes a little while. (But thats really a minor issue)

Besides that, great game :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing + the feedback man! Really glad you enjoyed the music, I've wanted to do something with that track for years but I'm terrible at making proper songs lol. I'm thinking I'll revisit the concept but without the dice rolls someday :)

Submitted(+1)

I generally liked the idea that you have to choose between different stats and pick the ones you need in order to continue on the level. The level itself designed really good. You really need to switch out the stats to get to the next point. What I didn't like is the fact that you have to open menu and reroll everytime to get the number you need. This seemed unnecessary. If I could at least pick the exact dice to roll and leave the others. Or, for example, if rolling itself was somehow restricted, so that randomness couldn't be grinded by rerolling 100 times to get the number you need.

Developer

Thanks for playing + for the feedback! I'm aware of how the random nature of the dice isn't a great fit for puzzles, but I needed to keep them involved somehow to fit the theme. I think I'm gonna revisit the concept, but with a fixed number of points that players must allocate between all stats :)

Submitted(+1)

Really cool concept of using RPG stats and dice to solve puzzles. Great job!

I just wished the menu wasn't so scuffed sometimes, but other than that really well done!

Developer(+1)

Cheers for playing man, and thanks for the feedback! Def gonna put more time aside for bug fixing next year lmao

Really nice idea, funny concept and the presentation is great!

Thank you so much!

What a cool idea. Unfortunately I got stuck in the floor at a later puzzle and didn't want to start it al over again.

But good stuff!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing! Sorry about the glitches, glad you enjoyed the concept!

Great looking game, I like the old 3D style, but I couldn't finish it because I had no idea where to punch the boxes.

Developer(+1)

thanks for playing man! if I could go back I would definitely add a couple more directional signs in lol, you're supposed to punch them towards the back walls to help you jump to the top of the level, then across some floating platforms.

Submitted(+2)

I wish I could finish this.  The presentation of the game is great and so is the core concept.  Unfortunately, I got too frustrated with the buggy dice allocation and the constantly resetting puzzles.  The stat allocation is interesting but I don't think it works well with the random nature of the dice.  I enjoyed what puzzles I had the patience to finish.  With a few tweaks and bug fixes I would be interested in giving the game another shot.

Developer(+1)

thanks for the feedback man! I don't think I'll be revisiting the concept for a while for pretty much the exact reasons you said, it was really tricky to design puzzles that didn't rely on good dice rolls whilst balancing necessary stat allocation. Maybe if there were multiple solutions to each puzzle that were stat independent?  Dunno lol. It was fun to try something like this for the jam but I realise it has a lot of flaws.

Submitted(+1)

I enjoy the themes of D&D! Very creative and I really like the style. While some bugs were present with rolling, and I had to restart the game on first play, it was a nice idea!

Developer(+1)

thanks for playing + the feedback man, I appreciate it!

Submitted(+1)

I love the presentation and the creativity. I wish I could have thought of something like this.

Sadly, the game doesn't work very well for me. Sometimes when I drag a die to one of the stats, the die gets stuck and the game cannot proceed anymore. Had to restart multiple times before giving up.

Looking forward to playing a version where this is fixed!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback man! The dice rolling was hands down the glitchiest part of the game during development lol, wish I had time to fix all of the bugs. Stuff should work out most of the time if you exit the character sheet and re-roll again?
