Hah- charming visuals with a fun mechanic there :)
I did find it a bit difficult; but that might just be me not being that good at these kinds of games!
thanks! yeah i wanted the difficulty to be higher to incentivize the use of the mouse 2 mechanic
thank you :-)
Amazing!
This looks really clean and has a really great mechanic at its core. The 3d environment looks really cool - it reminds me of Ape Out. I do think it is a little rough around the edges but for 48 hours it is really good. Some particles and fx would really make this game pop!
I think this would have more plays if it had a browser version, but I am glad I downloaded becasue I really enjoyed it!
You should definitely revisit this in the future, or if not, it still shows that your future projects will be great.
Nice job!
i’ll definitely be revisiting it as i want to make some sort of nuclear throne style shooter in future. and it actually isn’t 3d! i used this method: https://youtu.be/CSeUMTaNFYk to simulate that Ape Out look. also i don’t know how the web version works and i was told it could be buggy. for future jams tho i’ll definitely figure out web builds :P
Ah I see, still it's a pretty cool effect.
Good luck on your projects!
Fantastic! This just feels so good to play - the slight sway to the world as you move, the clicking sfx for shooting and the clatter of the roll - there's something immensely satisfying about the moment to moment gameplay here. The arenas felt distinct from one another, with each providing a different challenge. My favourite was the highly restricted sightlines in the third level, which really tested my reactions!
I really like the pixel art, especially the chess pieces!
I also love the theme, and as someone who is terrible at chess it felt great to get my revenge!
i'm really glad you picked up on the small details! this is my first actual 'game' if you can call it that, and i wanted to make sure there was appropriate polish. also i'm glad you liked the levels, (they were EXTREMELY last minute lmao)
I love it!! Really well put together and designed. I'd love to play a full game
The moves, chess pieces and the roll are all balanced nicely
plus nice jazz
thank you! i'm deffo planning on revisiting this at some point with hand-drawn sprites
awesome!
Wow, What an interesting game! I really like the controls and it's fun to play! (and a very good options menu if I might say!)
thank you lol, i wish i had more time to implement some QoL stuff, but alas ...
