Fun idea and I'm glad I was able to get the good ending (even if it was with a cheat) but it needs a layer of polish that it doesn't yet have. also you have jump pads and buttons but you could use some kind of big hook that sets the game apart. get that and you can take this places :)

Hum… The game was nice, however I feel like there was a lot of polishing to do. Also, having invisible walls wasn’t a good choice - at first I wondered why the physics engine was going wild. Something like glass, or some kind of visual clue would’ve been welcome ! Still, good job for finishing it.

I feel like this game could use a good amount of work, which of course is something that is in short supply when you're making a game in 48 hours. There are some obvious things, like being unable to grab a crate that is behind you, being able to softlock yourself by knocking over a spring, or just general jank that would come out if you were to polish it up for a post-jam release. There are also some more subtle things, like the fact that if you do listen to everything they say (my first run), there is no reward. You get very abruptly killed for no real discernible reason. This makes it feel like far less of a choice and more like the illusion of one. Sure, you could go through normally, but there is literally no reason to, so why would you? In The Stanley Parable, for example, following the narrator gives you exactly what he wanted to give you: a cool story with far-reaching consequences and you as the main character. As such, there is a reason to follow the voice. If there is literally nothing besides an abrupt and simple end, then one starts to wonder why the voice even expects them to follow. Finally, even if you do escape, there really isn't a reward. You just walk out of a room, and the game tells you you escaped. There is nothing to differentiate that final action from any other time you left a room before.

All in all, I think there is a lot of potential. Portal and The Stanley Parable are both some of my favorite games of all time, and their core idea is the same: You are fighting back against some authority figure that is desperate to wrangle you back under control. I think this game could really use more attention and consideration, taking the time to decide what is special about that theme and what interesting situations it allows (does the controller try to kill you? Bribe you? Make promises about what you're leaving? Lie about where you're going?), and of course polish up the gameplay a little. When you are able to explore these ideas more fully, which I completely understand is very, very difficult to do in a limited time period, that's when you can start to have a really, really interesting interaction with the player.

Thanks for the feedback! I would also like to thank you for going into depth about what you didn't like, as that's what I need to further improve the game. As for the abrupt ending, being a solo dev meant that I didn't have much time to develop the story, thus forcing me to cut it all short. Things like being able to turn around and grab crates behind you, and being able to grab jump pads without them glitching out slipped through the cracks as I worked on larger things. I am planning on fixing it all though.

The idea is very nice and it was quite fun to play. However, it glitched several times. The animation was cool but the art could use a bit more polish. Also some restart button would be good. But otherwise the game is good.

Really cool story driven game which is hard in a jam I think - Made me smile for sure!

There's a good ending and a bad ending, but is there a true ending? :)

Loved the walking animation. It's a fun little game. Well done <3

Pretty short but fun game with a nice touch of dialoge. I like it. Nice job!

It's a very short and simple game and the narrative choice that ties into the theme is a nice little touch, Presentation and overall gameplay I feel like could definitely be expanded upon to be a lot more interesting!

The physics are glitching out a lot, but somehow that actually makes the game more fun, try to grab the jump pad if you are trying out the game.

The spring board is amazing <3

Well, the moviment feel strange and somewhat unresponsive and the controls are never explained to the player in game, so for some players like me, but trust me i'm not the only one, some challanges, that are otherwise easy, becomes hard or straight up impossible, and in some situations it feels like softlocks... on top of that, the game is kinda short and with only a few challanges...

(I'm sorry to post a bad review/feedback, i still enjoyied the game but the flaws of this game are pretty bad ones, so i can't help it but write it down...)

Thanks for the feedback! Don't be sorry for giving negative feedback, I actually want to know what I did wrong so I can fix it. I apologize that the controls didn't feel good, and I forgot to put a controls menu in the game, but they are in the game's description. I am currently working on an update that will release sometime around the end of the jam that will fix as many bugs as I can, and will make the game longer.

Well, i know i shouldn't apologise, but some people do not take as well critisism as you (to make you understand how serious the situation is, I once seen one user get offended by the gamedev for giving negative feedback), so i'll just "prevent the problem" saying sorry in advance...

Nice job! The platforming was really satisfying and the graphics were really pleasing! Well done! :D

For some reason I found it a bit tricky to figure out how to jump high on the jump pads. After I figured it out though it wasn't too difficult to do.

I liked the mechanics (and the jump platforms as well) . Moreover, to my mind, the game has a good concept.

The portalesque feeling this game gave was incredible  and the narrative portion had me playing to the end. With some polish to the art and the physics mechanics the game would become phenomenal.

Developer

Thanks! I am currently working on an update that will release when the jam is over, which is fixing the physics issues.

Liked the very cheeky portal vibes this is giving XD

The controls are a bit hard but overall I really like the concept, had fun solving the little puzzles and the guy that kept pushing me back made me laugh. I'd love to see this being expanded on!

Submitted(+1)

Is hard to control and do the things. But the idea and history are really good!

Fun little platformer, the core gameplay is a bit rough, the physics are a bit glitchy especially with the jump pads, and not being able to turn your character or pick up things from the left is a bit odd, but, it is entirely functional, and I enjoyed exploring about and finding the two different endings, I could see this idea being expanded upon. Solid entry!

Thanks for the feedback! I plan on updating the game after the game jam, being able to turn around will definitely be added.

Had fun. Nice simplistic art and cool narative. Love the type.
