Very fun and original, the art was very well made! I had fun yeeting the king as instructed, and eventually managed to chase down the totally-not-flubber

Very good art in a game that is tottaly out of control, that's for sure. I think the king has to be tottaly blind, deaf and also not willing to see anything wrong happening. If the king was just a little bit smarter I would never beat the game, so maybe it's a good thing he didn't notice anything. I really enjoyed it, the music fits the chaos really well. It was very satysfing when I finally got the Blugger back. Right click felt a little unresponsive to me at first, but the controls overall were really nice.
I really enjoyed the game! Very nice experience. The art is still the high point I think, but other things work out well too.
Really makes you work that camera movement chasing the ball around haha.
I think the king could move a little bit faster around the rooms, come faster to the starting area (it felt like you could just wait for the ball to come to you in the starting area) and make him stand up faster after knocking him down to make him more of a threat. Other than that, fun game!
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'll give it a go a couple of times to try to brainstorm ways around that issue. I think it might be a bit of a balancing act, where if he moves too fast, he might not notice the ball if it's in the cone and he's walking towards it, and we don't really want the player to really be shepherding the king either. At the same time, I hear what you're saying. Sometimes he seems like he's not a vital part of gameplay, and with him being our only lose condition, that'd be good to revisit if we continue working on it. Thanks again!
Wow!!Loved this game. 5/5 originality! I spent quite some time trying to get this ball but I'm sure it was trolling me xD
Once I decided to stay by the door and wait it go through and the little bastard went right above me so fast I couldn't get it hahaha nice game!
Somehow got lucky and almost immediately caught the blugger. Not so lucky on my second playthrough though. My only gripe about the game is that the force push seems pretty weak. Other than that, out of all the games I've rated so far, your game fits the theme most perfectly in terms of raw emotion. Well done!
Thank you for your feedback, I'm happy to hear you gave it a couple of playthroughs, too! The force push is really good for pushing the king to the ground, especially when it's fully charged you can get a bit of distance on it, so when I play, I think of it as a balancing act of keeping the king knocked down while also trying to grab the Blugger. It definitely doesn't cause as much chaos on the other objects in the scene as the Blugger itself, though, so I can see your point there, and there's definitely times where I wish it was a force pull/could clear a better path to some of the back hallways once objects were blocking those doors.
Holy crap this game is so well done, so simple yet full of detail, the pace/ speed the blugger bounces at and the music go perfectly together and feels like I'm in a movie
Really fun. I love that room with all the pots, so satisfying to shove them. I was more out of control than my little green ball tbh hahaha.
Getting the green ball felt like it was mostly luck, though. Just grabbing randomly and hoping for the best.
Can't really say "Thousands of gold" I think.
Thanks for your feedback! The ball is pretty hard to catch. We have a fairly forgiving hitbox on the hand, but that really only helps if you get it in a predictable pattern for a second, so the smaller rooms are where I've had the most luck getting it .
With the "thousands of gold" comment, are you referring to the grammar of the opening letter to the player or more the value of the damages visible in the castle?
really good game with a lot of potential, give this thing a few more levels, a story and some interesting twists and you've got a hit. i really love the style and i feel like this would make a great comedy game. the ball might have been a bit to hard to catch but considering you only need to catch it once i think it's okay. if you are going to keep working on this game i would suggest allowing the grab to move objects so that you could block paths, maybe have a new enemy like gaurd you own money to that catch you if they see you yet ignore the blugger, maybe some new spells like time slow or blinding spells.
really great game.
also BANANA ROOM
HECK YEA, BANANA ROOM! Seriously, though, thanks for your feedback (and adding us to a collection of games you think have potential)! A knight NPC would be amazing, especially with some different spell options to mess with him. I've only really had good luck catching the Blugger whenever it's in a small corridor or one of the tinier rooms, and a time slow spell would definitely make that a little more manageable.
Some hot tips based on feedback:
- The force push and grab are most effective when charged all the way. You can hold the click down to keep the charge as long as you need.
- You can use the force push to temporarily stun the king.
- You only lose if the king sees the Blugger, not if he sees you.
- If you grab the Blugger, clicking again will throw it forward. It also breaks out if you hold it for more than 5 seconds.
