How does your game fit the theme?
Enemy saws split into two smaller and faster saws upon destruction. Eventually, they'll become too small to split. Destroying larger enemies will yield better rewards. But focusing your fire on smaller saws will suppress the multiplication of enemies from going out of control.

Love the game! Best presentation in this game jam! Great job!

The presentation of this game is outstanding! The way the game pauses for a short second to allow the player to take in every vibrant explosion makes the game so satisfying!

While the concept isn't the most amazingly unique idea ever, the execution is great. I love the game play loop of warily dodging projectiles with the slow-mo and dash move, and then blasting  them down with the rail gun or the super nova. So much fun!

Yooooo I love this game. I think this is the best polish I've seen. Game juice is absolutely nuts. The dash and slowmo are sooo cool. Great job! Had a ton of fun with this one.

The weapons pack the right Ompf. The particles are amazing and the post processing adds just the right amount of distortion to make the aesthetic flare like a star in the midnight sky. Amazing job!

So juicy but I think it match the theme just a little. Maybe you should add more randomness and then it would be alot better. But still it very fun to play!

Fun game I will come back on this one!

Great job! vary polished and juicy!

Hey great game! It's funny how both our games have enemies that split up :)

It only took me 3 seconds of playing DodgeSaw to realise that you are also the dev of Crossfire! Both games are great!

Developer

Haha our games are a little similar! Thank you for playing Crossfire too!

It's such a wild ride! Very good game and so much 'juice'! I really love the announcer voice and all the great fun! Keep on making games, I look forward to playing them all!!

Big hug to you and your team!

The amount of juice is unreal and you were not lying about the railgun - it's just so cool!

The amount of particles and screenshake could be taken down just a peg as the readability of the level was not very good or maybe that's just me.

It seems like the supernova doesn't trigger for further levels  either, at least it didn't trigger in 4 for me and 5 unfortunately bugged out and enemies stopped spawning.

Developer

Hey SecretPocketCat, thanks for your helpful feedback! We will work on improving the readability of our game! As for the supernova not triggering, there is a bug that causes it not to trigger if you have not died at least once on the level.

The game was supposed to only have 3 levels. However we found out that if you die once on each level and trigger your supernova all the time, there is essentially no end to the amount of levels you can play.

It looks more like a full game rather than a jam game. It's very polished and has a lot of juice. This has the most fun I had in this jam so far!

The only downside is splitting enemy mechanic doesn't really add much to the game. It looks a lot like the other top-down shooters of this type.

Overall a very impressive game. Great job!

Fun and polished.  I would say it would be a lot better if you didn't have to click constantly.  Just let the play shoot while holding the button down. But really good none the less.

Very polished gameplay, art, particle effects and sound effects. The steady progression of adding different abilities instead of introducing them all at once was a good way of adding a tutorial to allow the player to grasp the base gameplay of the game without overwhelming them. Great to see another game from in another GMTK Game Jam. Keep up the amazing work!

Great visual effects! The game gets overwhelming pretty quick, but I think the slow-motion is a good addition to help balance things out. Well done!

I love it, it's very fun to play. I'd like if it saved the progress, though I can understand that having to restart after closing the game might be part of the game, dividing the runs. I also think there should be some indicator of player's health. Finally, I think it fits the theme in a more main stream way than most other games, but it's acceptable. Besides these things, it is a very good job, well done!

Really flashy and solid entry! Nice work!

Now this is the most polished game I've ever seen in this jam so far, this was very satisfying to play.
I love how the game would turn into bullet hell game after few split sawblades & you can blast them off using the red bomb thingy -- The extra juice in this game really helped to amplify the gameplay's satisfaction too.

Unfortunately I suck at games like this and kept dying right before the supernova meter fully charges (something something sight problem™) so I couldn't get to see what the supernova mechanic does.. But I bet it would be something that's so damn rad!

One pet peeve-y thing that I've noticed is that the fullscreen apparently.. occasionally turns into a borderless fullscreen? Sometimes when I boot the game, it would go fullscreen and the other times it would go borderless fullscreen. Not sure if this is because of my screen's resolution (1920x1080) is somewhat not compatible with the game, though.

2 thumbs up! Maximum juiciness!

Hello from a fellow Singaporean! This is far and away the most polished game I've played thus far! It is extremely fun and addictive and is the only game I've given a 5 for overall so far. Fantastic work!
