Very fun and unique game. The interesting decision making whether to pick a rule or card made for very thoughtful and strategic gameplay which I love! I think some sound effects would have been a welcome addition, e.g. a roulette noise when spinning for the random card or rule but the lack of them didn't deduct from the game too much. Overall a very original concept and great execution, good job!

Most original game of the jam. The rules took a little getting used to but having to weigh the options of a rule being chosen for you against a card really turned out to be quite fun. I'm not usually a fan of card games but this was quite fun overall. Really good job. I know it's a card game so it doesn't really need audio but some ambient music would be nice. Also, maybe change the UI a little for the text. None the less, it's a very good game.
Make the rules as pictograms, speed up the animations a bit, polish the visuals and you can release it!
Final Score: 23
This was a very original approach... at first I kept only choosing the rules but later I needed to choose a card as well. Very interesting!
The concept and visuals are really good, and the complexity of the rules is great. It could really use an intuitive GUI so you can understand the rules immediately without having to read a lot. Would greatly increase the pacing and make it more exciting. Some timer rules or rules that reduce your score instead of giving you damage would be intriguing as well!
I actually played this game quite a lot, and really enjoyed it!
I found it difficult to keep track of the rules, especially once they started doubling up. Got a score of 65, and by then it felt like there was no way to avoid losing lives.
I also found that choosing the rules was universally better than choosing the card, as random rules could end the game quickly, for example with two rules you could lock out placement in all 3 columns, and as the rules last 4 turns, you’re guaranteed to lose.
I agree with some of the other comments about the animation speed as well. And finally it really bugged me that the centre square counted as a diagonal lol! Either way, excellent job. Definitely one of my favourites!
One suggestion I would make is give icons for each rule - as it stands there's a lot of reading text involved. And don't skip the audio, even if for a short jam game. I think the concept is great, so well done!
Pretty good game :) The best kind of jam game for me: Simple idea, good execution and clear instructions. I have to say I wouldn't play a game with Solitaire if I didn't see that you commented on mine, so it was a big surprise to me that I actually enjoyed it. It felt a little like solving dynamic, changing logical grids which is actually quite fun for me.
For the future, as a mobile time killer that actually requires some brainpower not jus simple clicking - I would definitely play it at work :D
It could use some audio though (or maybe it just wasn't working for me? but there weren't any)
One thing that was kinda surprising for me was the "1" card. Never seen it in regular deck of cards, and I deal with cards a lot, so that grinded my gears a little, but that's just a personal thing, and I understand that it's much better for clarity for other people.
Overall: Very enjoyable experience with a potential to land on my phone if released after jam in mobile version :)
Pretty cool game! Loved the concept! The game animations are a bit slow. I'm not sure I liked the lives system, and I would have prefered that cards weren't placeable in spots where they break the rule, so you lose when you have no possibility to add a card. The rules were really well designed for the system, and I enjoyed playing a couple of times. Congrats!
I never played solitaire before yet even I got the gist of it so you definitely did something right here. : )
Nice concept and execution! Keeping all the rules in your head was challenging, and picking between rules and cards was random in a good way :) If I may make one suggestion, I'd suggest you make the animations / transitions a bit faster so you spend less time waiting and more time playing :) Overall, fantastic job :)
