Nice to be god for a day. Not a vengeful god.
Congrats on a nice game
Woah I didn't expect a god game in this jam!
Starts simple but things get hectic really fast. Also, I didn't understand some of the symbols of the "crimes" we're supposed to destroy with the punishment powers.
Suggestions for improvement:
- Add some beneficial powers instead of just sending out punishments over the world. For example, some events could be the growth of crops for feeding the population and reducing world hunger.
- Greenland should be smaller. You made it bigger than South America! XD
- Localized events, depending on the "biome". Same with the powers, maybe some could have a stronger power in certain regions. For example, storms are stronger in the tropical zone.
- Balance a bit the difficulty once multiple events start popping up at the same time. Make the game difficult but winnable. Since the powers have a cooldown time, you should adjust your event spawning rate accordingly.
- Powers could also be presented gradually as the game progresses, since there's no use for some of them at the start.
Wow, nice review. Thanks for that. I agree with some of them and I want to change them. About the chaos rate, I made it not winnable by intention. There is some "Chaos always wins" but hold on as long as possible mentality. Maybe it can change, btw. Idk.
Is Greenland bigger than South America? I actually don't know. I searched for a 2D world map and it looks bigger there: D
Things I liked:
-Progressive difficulty (helps with introducing new players)
-Easy to grasp and intuitive
-Fun and interesting take on the theme!
Things to improve:
-Having control of where the events go, so including a drop feature to drop them on the different events would help
-Having a timer to see how long before one of the options recharged
Overall:
Fun little game to try to earn a high score with a cool take on the theme! Keep up the good work!
It would be super awesome if you could check out and rate my game as well!
Surprisingly addictive. Hard to play on a glidepad because of the click and drag and there's a bit of luck involved, if you got a lot of events spawning on top of each other near the icons, it was hard to target and "focus fire" because you couldn't get the events where you wanted them but if the events were spawning with a clear path between the abilities and the chaos, it was easier.
great premise. Controls were the tricky bit,..
perhaps keybinding the "abilities" and allowing to just click on the events, would have been better. Could also then have ramped you how many "events" happened to add a bit more chaos.
Well done on creating this in 4 days! :) Great going!
simple and i enjoyed it. I did run into the issue of events happening on the right side of the map that i couldnt get to because more events would spawn in the middle while i was dragging across the screen
Good idea!
As mentioned in other comments, the click and drag is a little cumbersome. A more manageable way to responde to the events would be nice (like the use of QWER as suggested)!
I liked the game nonetheless! :D
A very creative idea! Needs only small changes in mechanics. Good job!!
Thanks for the submission. Fun game. I would have preferred if I could activate something and then click on what I want to do... or have 4 keys. like QWER to just do the things where the mouse is.
But a great submission and an interesting idea.
Neat little game! I think it would have been even better if instead of more choices each "crime" can only be solved by one of the four solutions. That way instead of throwing stuff at is as fast as possible you have to match them correctly.
Man that was kinda dark... too much conflict on this planet... Thanks for this! Everybody needs to think a bit more :)
Please play and rate my game too, if you can.
