What a novel idea. Really interesting! I did play alone, but I'm really intrigued. I think the MP system was a good contrivance to make the game more interesting. Really cool idea.
Well done, I think this is probably the most interesting idea I've seen in any entry!
Very funny look and gameplay, but the sounds are a bit annoying. You can play alone, but you have to play with yourself in this case. Well done!
This is such a novel idea for a dungeon crawler jam, I love it.
We played a bit, the game is fun, I like how the movement points work and any two player game was going to be a great implementation of the theme anyway. Good job.
This is certainly the most unusual entry we could find in a dungeon crawler ; though gonna admit it respects the theme and despite the lack of time you mentionned, you did something original which does work fine.
I'm far from behind a sport amator, but gonna say this game is ok and could even be played with a friend so it's a nice touch
So don't be harsh with yourself or your game, you definitely don't have to :)
Thank you! I knew that if I went with an original idea it'd at least not be terrible AND boring! Thanks for your kind words! :D
Game set match! (Uhhm, wrong game, haha.)
This is a really innovative idea, I didn't expect a multiplayer "dungeon" crawler soccer game. I actually got someone to play it with me and it was quite fun and works relatively well for such a novel idea. Though it gets into chaotic button mashing really fast.
Great idea and fun game. :D
Thanks very much for taking time to play my game! I'm pleased, and a little amazed, that people are getting some fun from it!
Cool unusual idea. I am extremely sorry that you did not have enough time to reveal it fully. You are definitely a person capable of thinking outside the box of stereotypes :)
Thank you! Yep, I definitely set out to do something a bit different! Your entry is crazy and pretty genre-bending (in a very good way) too! I'm really looking forward to the next DC Jam, and I'll MAKE time for it! :D
I hate soccer, but liked this game. It's something completely different.
I only played it by myself, which wasn't much fun. But I am sure it will be fun to play with 2 players. So I rated pretending I played it with a friend.
Thank you very much!
I played this with a friend, and this is the best multiplayer dungeon crawler I've ever played (of, well, maybe 2 total...). We had a lot of fun with this, and I really like how the duality is integrated into the gameplay, there was some real developing of skill managing our dual players as we played a few rounds. Only thing I would have wished for was slightly more feedback on having the ball or not, occasionally I'd run past him, think that I grabbed the ball, and make it a few steps before realizing I didn't have it. Maybe just a solid sound effect whenever the ball exchanged hands would be good, although maybe it's hard for that to work when both teams are hearing the same sounds ^_^.
As for whether or not it matches the rules, maybe it all comes down to the question: Is soccer inherently combat to resolve an enemy encounter? =)
Also of note, both of our hands got quite sore after only a few rounds, this needs controller input ;).
Thanks very much for trying my game! I'm really glad you had fun with it.
I agree about the ball-possession feedback. I was thinking of adding it but never got round to it and/or decided on how to implement it. As you say, a sound would get a bit confused, so I was thinking more about a visual highlight. Perhaps a border round the view of the player in possession.
I had rather overlooked the rule about there needing to be combat, tbh (I figured I wasn't meeting the win/lose condition criteria anyway). I did consider making the player with the most MPs win the ball, but decided it wouldn't work.
I'll definitely add controller support after the jam!
Thanks again!
i too did not expect a soccer dungeon crawler, cute game!
well I wasn't thinking about a football game when I began the jam but that's a nice game, gg
Movement is nice and fluid.
Now, this is a recipe for chaos in party games.
This game truly deserves to have a controller input option so I can play it more easily with a friend!
Really interesting mechanic here that I think could be super fun to play split screen versus.
I love the cute Unity made capsule characters! A fantastic use of the resources you had available.
Great job!
Really original idea, interesting mechanic to tie movement and kicking to resources. Kind of reminds me of blitzball. Fun game
Super original idea!
This is an awesome idea for Dungeon Crawler mechanics, and a great basis for a really fun game, great work! A lot of us very short on time, I published my game only 13 minutes before the end, and there's isn't any sound in it at all :)
Thank you very much! I'm so pleased it's getting some love and that I got something a bit original out there. Game jams are fab, aren't they?! I'm going to make a start on playing all the other entries soon which I'm excited about - there are so many, though! Good luck!
Cute. Getting slight Blood Bowl vibes.
Thanks! I hadn't thought of that, but yes, there is a slight whiff of BB! :D
Sharing the mouvement points between the two players of each team was really neat idea. The controls are impossible to use on a laptop however, does this have controller support ?
Thanks for trying my game! It doesn't have controller support, but it would be very easy to add. Not sure why I didn't think to add it, tbh. I'll update at some point. I found I had to switch on the NumLock on my laptop, btw (my main PC's keyboard doesn't have a numeric keypad, so I didn't test it properly.)
Fun idea! I wish it was more clear to play. It really took me a minute to figure everything out. Looks very polished. An A.I. Player would be appreciated though.
Thanks for trying my game! Yeah, I didn't spend long on the instructions, so there's room to improve there (or, if I really want to push the boat out, a tutorial, I suppose). An AI would be nice - I'll give it some thought, but I'm a bit rubbish at doing AI in general. It might not be too difficult for this game, though, in fact.
