So many different things in a game. Containers, dialogs, quests, inventory, NPCs. Nicely done! Short and classic story, I enjoyed discovering it once more :)

I wish there were an option to speed up dialogs and an option not to auto-skip start and end sequence :)

I opened up a barrel and it crashed my game.

I wish there was something to guide the player in the village. Took me a while before finding the right path to the dungeon. Killed a rat then game crashed.

The dialogue is really well done but they are unskippable which can be a little annoying.

Nice conclusion text.

The game has a bit of everything, a town and a dungeon, dialogs, a cool inventory system, and I liked that you implemented backstabbing, or maybe you did not and I just got a very stronger weapon, but that's fine too.

Cool traditional game, good work.

I liked the dungeon atmosphere. Fun to play.

I'm preparing to marry a rat in a few days so I empathise with the dude! Nice atmosphere and sounds, great work!

Most of the NPCs were a bit samey.

Dunno why the dude married a rat, but I'm not his judge.

Killed some rats. Pushed a button.

Its a dungeon crawler all right.

LOL, I love that the first quest I ran into was to deal with a "rat", how traditional.  Oh, slightly disappointed that it's an actual rat -_-.

Things were going pretty well until I got into Underhold, looted a barrel, drank the potion out of it, and then close the inventory window, which resulted in this crash showing up in my console (Web build):

I tried the download version instead, and made it back to where I was, but then had a crash when looting a rat's corpse :(.

(Note: I was doing all control with keyboard only (leaving the mouse on the middle of the screen), not sure if it had something to do with using space/esc/i/etc as opposed to clicking...)

What I was able to play was really cool though!  I like how fleshed out the village felt (at least, at the surface, don't look inside their homes too closely!).  Dungeon was nice and moody, and the inventory system seemed full-featured =).  I wish it was a bit more stable so I could play more...

The webGL build definitely has some issues. I reached the second level of the dungeon with it, opened the gate to where that person enemy was, then killed him, and then the game froze completely. Music kept playing, but it doesn't do anything else...

I might give the desktop version a try later, though. I liked what I saw and am a bit intrigued. Very moody. One thing I dislike is the dialogue being slow and unskippable, but that just seems to be only in the game's introduction area so it's fine.

Nice, I liked it.

Incredible entry with a ton of polish. All of the little secrets scattered about was great. Thanks for your hard work!

Amazing entry, one of the most polished out there. As soon as I saw the "vicious looking piece of technology" I knew where you were going with this, great homage.

This is one of those projects that made me wish you hade another week of time, the engine, inventory system and the little secrets you spread out really makes me want to play more of this.

Hey, I played your game :)

  • lovely music, reminded me a bit of Zelda games :) so that was a plus right there at the start!
  • great movement and presentation in-game
  • I loved that actions and names are shown instantly when you stand in front of them, definitely makes life easier :)
  • event system and actions to choose, so good! Loved the text amount and variety of options, it gave  me a commercial sense!
  • I loved it more if people didn't moved in front of me when I wanted to talk to them :)
  • nice inventory system, but definitely needs better graphics there, to be on par with the rest of the game!
  • nice eerie music and sound effects in dungeon and EOB color style, love it :)
  • it would be great if a specific name would be shown instead of "Entity" all the time :)

Overall, a pretty good entry that is definitely worth more development time and more versions :)

I liked the homages to both M&M and EOTB. I did run into an issue where my inventory turned into a black hole where anything I put into it would be gone the next time I opened it, but it didn't affect my playthrough since I was fine just equipping items/using potions right away.

Good amount of content given the time of the jam, and the ending was fun.

I really liked the story  telling and overall interaction with the villagers and the environment. And the background music fits very well. Well done!

There are some technical aspects that where lowering my overall experience (and I am talking about the HMTL5 version). I  haven't looked at the Windows executable yet but will do that later.

The loading time just  to enter/leave a house is a bit annoying. I hope that the windows build will at least load faster but the house interiors are not that big so why do you have to load them?

There are also somethings that I expect to be problematic even in the Windows build.

I can walk through trees but not barrels. Most likely because they are containers? I even managed to get behind the level at some point, at least I was behind some geometry that I should not be able to pass. The dead rats will rag-doll around indefinitely and can even obstruct my view (one was going really wild being dead). And  I am well aware that bugs are to be expected after such a short time period, I just wanted to share my findings.

I could not find anything related to the theme of the jam or I am missing something?

In general this entry gave me some Might and Magic vibes which is a good thing.

Thanks for making this.

Developer

Thanks for the detailed feedback :) There is definitely a lot of bugs!

I ran out of time to add all the lore objects, decorations, and interactables/dialog/etc that I wanted to communicate the theme, but basically it was an homage to Might and Magic and the duality between fantasy and sci-fi in those games. When you get to the end of level 3 it's revealed that you're actually inside a space ship.

Ah I see!

I played M&M quiet a lot and I really like where this is heading. I'll keep a look at this and I know that this is quiet a lot of work.

Keep it up!
