There's a secret button on the fireplace (left skull) which opens a hidden crawlspace door. The hidden door appears right across the fireplace.

Still working hard on it, it'll be out soon ;)

Yes, it is because we are the developers of the Darkness Within series;)

Is this your first game? That was so cool!  The graphics are great and It was fun to play. I hope you'd continue creating more games.

Awesome game, I liked the story and the setting a lot! I'd love to see more from it.

Such a nice puzzle crawler, I liked what I played and you've incorporated the theme quite well. I guess there is still hope for that little fluffy cat, right? :)

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Yes, we are thinking of continuing after the jam ends. You could follow us on Twitter if you like, it is an account created just recently:)  @veil_of_madness

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Thanks a lot for the feedback! Yes, I have experience more than 20 years in the industry.

Excellent execution of the duality theme and the graphics look awesome. I pretty much liked all the things you did for this game, great job!

I liked the atmosphere and the graphics in this one a lot. Also the story is quite interesting. Good job!

Thanks for the awesome feedback! We did not have much time to optimise but after the jam, we want to continue with this game. If you'd like to have another look after that, we much appreciate that🙂 By the way your game looks amazing as well 👋

I pretty much enjoyed playing your game, it looks so nice and the atmosphere is pretty much there. Great work!

A game within a game, that's a very cool idea. Also, the graphics made me feel that I was playing a late '90s game which is a very nice touch.  Lastly, that's what I call mean streets, thugs are at every to turn to get you :)

Omg, a cutscene? That was fantastic! The graphics were stunning, the sound design was solid. Overall, I pretty much liked it!

The game had an impressive combat system, complete with a tutorial dungeon to make it approachable. The movement puzzles were also enjoyable. The graphics were amazing, the sound design was solid, and the combat mechanics were great. Overall, it was a great experience that kept me engaged!

Thanks for this highly positive feedback; it is much appreciated! We are a team of two and do all the jobs together and are thrilled to hear such remarks because all we need is to convey that thick atmosphere we envisioned, and you seem to feel that one just as we imagined. We want to continue with this game after the jam since we feel connected to it so, please stay tuned for more :)

I love the PSX aesthetic! The atmosphere is cool and the music is so nice! The PSX-style random battle encounters are also a nice touch.  Good job!

ok, it works now

Transition effects are awesome! If there were sounds in this game, the atmosphere would have been top-notch! You did a really good job on this.

A homage to classical dungeon crawling adds to the flavour pretty much. I enjoyed playing this game and the graphics look so cool!

I died and the game did not give me player input back. However, as far as I played, the music was so cool and the battle idea was original. Great work!

I couldn't finish the game, it gives me an error: failed to load img/pictures/Header.png
Any tips?

I'm preparing to marry a rat in a few days so I empathise with the dude! Nice atmosphere and sounds, great work!

The atmosphere was so cool in this one and the setting is unsettling!

It was a fresh experience playing with a dog and pretty much liked the idea of rescuing my owner from the bad guys :)  Cool project, amazing work!

That was a great experience! The presentation is unique and well done. The music suits the game and the texts are well written. Had fun playing

Great atmosphere and graphics! I really liked the ambient sound, it adds a lot to the gloomy atmosphere. Also, the dice mechanic is cool and a novelty for me.

Thanks for having the time to check out the game. The game lacks play tests, that's why we did not put attention to the v-sync and other important graphical options. Attacks are context-sensitive so if no enemy is in sight they won't work but I see that you already know about this thanks to CryptRat

Thanks for having the time to check out the game., your input is much appreciated. I'll have a look at your game as well.

Thanks for having the time to check out the game. That fireplace stuff is something we quickly decide and never check again :) I'll be checking your game out as well!

Thanks for having the time to check out the game. We have plans to continue with this game. Thanks for all the suggestions and the heads-up!

I did it. Thanks for the heads up. As you can see, I'm new to itch.io.

Since this game was submitted for a game jam, I am unable to make any alterations to the build at the moment. Therefore, I have uploaded it to Google Drive. You can access it here:

Sure, I'll cook a 32 bit version for you whenever I sit on my PC ;)
