Really well polished game! Art and lighting were great. First puzzle was quite difficult, had to look up answer in comments. Overall really cool entry!

Beautiful and extremely polished entry! Its great how you mixed oldschool pixelart sprites with modern lighting. It looks very fresh, i love it. One of the best games from the jam, good job, congratz;)
This game has everything to be a great investigation game!
It looks good, it has a superb atmosphere, it's full of features which works, it has customization and character selection (a good surprise), the HUD is well thought, there's even a tutorial!
I really hope there will be a full version of this because it has a lot of potential!
This gives me Alone in the Dark vibes and it's perfect. I would be interested in playing a full version if you all decide to continue working on this.
I quite enjoyed this a lot! It kept me on my toes the entire time even before any combat began. The audio really tied everything together. This was great!
Very impressive! It feels like you're playing an adaptation of some cozy board game inspired by Lovecraft. Have you had experience in the big gaming industry? Feels professional.
Your game looks absolutely amazing, I love the theme, the cast of playable characters that reminds of Arkham Horror. That level of polish is astounding, too, excellent job!
That being said, sadly I couldn't play for a long time because it lags so much on my windows laptop that the mouse cursor is almost unusable π To give you an idea, I have a Dell XPS 13 with these specs :
Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz 2.42 GHz
RAM : 8 GB
No dedicated graphics
It looks like a game my computer should be able to play effortlessly, and I've been able to enjoy other 3D entries without issue. If you decide to optimize your game later on, I'm definitely going back to it because it love just about everything I saw and heard π If you could provide builds for other platforms, I feel like I would have more luck on my recent mac.
All in all, amazing work!! Please continue working on this! π²
Hey, I played your game :)
- great title screen! I always adore atmospheric title screens, loved it! Nothing better than a spooky title screen to set the atmosphere. Great fonts and music too!
- well, the next scene really elevated the game.. Multiple characters to choose from and allocate skill points? I was sold already!
- the tutorial question shown that this should probably end up as a commercial title.. It really has that quality and more.
- lovely movement and visuals and auto-save? I was impressed in many levels before even starting the game. The game looks so completed!
- getting inside that room with the fireplace and standing on the window watching the rain outside.. That was probably the best moment of all the games that I tried.
- everything is perfect, nothing else is needed :)
Overall, I have to continue playing with your outstanding game but its a 5/5 game like from first 5 minutes! Hopefully, you'll continue working on this one :)
Thanks for this highly positive feedback; it is much appreciated! We are a team of two and do all the jobs together and are thrilled to hear such remarks because all we need is to convey that thick atmosphere we envisioned, and you seem to feel that one just as we imagined. We want to continue with this game after the jam since we feel connected to it so, please stay tuned for more :)
Haven't played this yet, but a quick request: Would it be possible for you to mark the download as being "for Windows" on itch? Without that the game won't install or play through the itch app. Thanks!
Wow, this was amazing. I absolutely loved the visuals and the audio. It took me longer than I care to admit to finding the secret switch, and I accidentally found the debug view button, which was pretty neat and a feature I wish I had when developing my game.
I hope you continue with this game because this is the kind of game I want to play. Awesome job!
The issues I encountered were minor: the game, probably because UE defaults, has SteamVR enabled and therefore SteamVR kept trying to tell me that I had no headset connected. The UI was stretched out on my ultrawide monitor which made highlighting objects a little finicky sometimes, but these are minor.
My major complaint is that this isnβt a 20-hour finished game yet :D
The level of polish that's gone into this is impressive, I love the rainy windows and the different flourishes and decals on the walls and props that break up the space. The subtle sway of the camera, the creepy portraits, and the general the cosmic horror vibes. Reminds me of the mansion in Eternal Darkness. Very atmospheric and evocative, and kind of spooky.
I did have some trouble finding the switch on the fireplace, it was a bit hard to see and I had to hunt quite a bit to get it, and the tutorial was a bit dry but other than that it was an enjoyable experience.
The ending was pretty grim, but I think it fits the madness motif that you've got going on throughout the rest of the story.
Great work!
Great atmosphere, very cool visuals and a take on the well-known concept of "Let's venture through the same corridor again and again" games. I have a personal issue with the design of the tasks though. I got told by other users that there's a puzzle in the game. The game never told me there's puzzles or much that I need to do absolutely anything, so the game's lacking in that sector. Confusing character selection, too much text on face. Cool slideshow tutorials, although also a lot of text at once, and then suddenly less text to tell the player there's puzzles? Otherwise awesome entry!
The game is short but what's there is good, looking for the key, the few fights, the pieces of story. The game looks good and the movement feels good too.
The first impression this game gives is amazing. Everything looks so polished and beautiful. The atmosphere is really great. From your profile, it looks like this is your first Itch.io submission, which is very surprising.
I am getting some pretty bad vsync issues, and I have a fairly beefy PC. I wonder if your postprocessing is not synchronized with the framerate.
I can't figure out how to get the first key. Attacking does not appear to work, I pressed just about every key on my keyboard and I can't use the crowbar.
Thanks for having the time to check out the game. The game lacks play tests, that's why we did not put attention to the v-sync and other important graphical options. Attacks are context-sensitive so if no enemy is in sight they won't work but I see that you already know about this thanks to CryptRat
