I really like the day-night cycle idea. Both visuals and audio are great.
Only menu is a little confusing and I don't even know how many coins I need, but the game is still super fun.
The art is very good, and the sound effects are so satisfactory in a way, but i think it needed to have a big play area for the amount of bullets in the screen.
Thanks! I'm not sure about the big play area though, my idea was to keep things claustrophobic to encourage aggression on the part of the player. With a big arena they would be incentivized to play defensively and focus on dodging bullets
Really good and polished visuals and effects, pretty amazing.
Not sure if it's humanly possible to fill the bar but fun nonetheless.
It was only when I realized that enemies spawn ghosts->ghosts spawn coins->ghost despawn if you die->don't die, that an incentive to not die appeared, but it still feels like it doesn't really matter whether you die or not, which is weird for a game that is supposed to be difficult.
Thanks! You technically die if you don't fill the bar up, but the fail state isn't communicated very well
I love the art. I don't know what to do with coins but it's fun to pick them up
The fact that you're still enjoying grabbing them without knowing why you're doing it makes me really happy. They're just there for the sake of scoring though, you can get S rank and stuff but fundamentally the reason is because shiny thing good
this is really cool i love the sprite but the plca felt too small to move arround. btw it was a really fun game

Hey this was pretty good! It's a very polished top down shooter. It's not the most original but it is definitely better looking than most of the other games so far.
The hit boxes are kind of obscure and the visuals are kind of overpowering though
All-around fantastic movement/shooting mechanics and presentation. The killing/scoring loop is crazy fun.
its very cool, but a tutorial page would be better :D
9/10
If only I knew earlier that a tutorial page is all I needed and the game was optional. Jokes aside though, thanks! There's one if you press f3 in the main menu but it's not very clear
I think my biggest criticism is that it's just... kind of confusing to figure out what's going on. After a few rounds, and playing around with the F1 menu, I sort of figured out what was going on, but it's certainly not fed to you. I suppose that's a good thing, but it was tough figuring out what was causing more or less coins to spawn, what the penalty for death was, what your attack and auto attack buttons did, ect.
Graphics were nice though, and the controls, once learned, were very snappy. The use of the theme was also quite good, not shoehorned or annoying, actually made gameplay more fun, and added a little bit of urgency.
Awesome job, overall!
Thanks and yeah, fair points! I guess a few runs wouldn't be too bad...if this wasn't a game jam, definitely shoulda put more effort into the tut.
My comment was kinda critical, but I still gave you almost maxed ratings ahahaha
the graphics of this game was too cute
Really like the sound effects and visuals! A upbeat music would be incredible.
Amazing work!! The graphics are beautiful and the play is snappy af! love it! :D
The graphics are incredible! The gameplay is fun! You really knocked it out of the park with this, great job!
Very frenetic but clean visuals and sfx's!I Like it!
First off the visuals are top notch! I love the spawning animations. All the different interactions felt very satisfying. The spawning and picking up coins was *chefs kiss* :) It was a bit hard to remember what buttons I had selected but soon found which ones were important. I think it was smart to not allow the player to die (immediately). Especially for a jam game. Overall really fun game!
Thanks a bunch! Can't take credit for the spawning animations since that's pretty much a Pocky & Rocky skeleton ripoff but will gladly take credit for the rest B)
Very fun! The visual effects feel particularly great!
Fun game, nice visuals!
I absolutely love your artstyle! It really suits the type of game you made well, good job! Personally, I found it a bit weird to have to set your own controls without knowing how the game plays at first, but once I was past that it was a good addition. The gameplay is a bit simple and it feels like getting hit is not really a consequence, so it gets a bit stale after a few minutes, but other than that I really liked it :)
Aw shucks, that's nice to hear I was a bit worried about my art in particular going into it. Anyway, the goal is to hit that 600 coin threshold to get the "good ending" which turns that lax punishment for getting hit into something quite devastating. Though I imagine it's neither clear nor particularly motivating for most players
Oh, I see! I wasn't really far off then, I think I had something like 550 or something. Going to play it again with that in mind now :D
Good job! The graphics are great, the sound is great and the usage of limited-time events like the chest was a good idea! I only wish there was more to do with the coins- unless I just didn't get far enough to use them.
Thanks a bunch! Yeah, I didn't have the time to flesh out the coins a bit more so it's very much an intrinsic "can you do better and get good ranks?" type of thing. Glad you had fun though!
